I am under the impression that the more English of a day I have on an England matchday, the higher England's chances. I went to a seaside arcade, played the 2p machines, and had fish and chips for lunch. For the first hour and a half of this game, my superstitions seemed futile. England seem to take dangerously long to get going. It was a difficult watch. I was watching the game begging for a creative attacking midfielder to come on. Eberechi Eze performed silent miracles after his substitution, Saka and Gordon should undoubtedly start against Mexico alongside O'Reilly and Spence. Elliot Anderson played excellently. He was by far our best player, particularly for the first sixty minutes. I am terrified for the Mexico game, but I believe we can do this.
