The magic had to run out eventually :( seeing Messi cry will always make me cry, but still eternally proud of him for this carry job. Everything post-2022 was supposed to be icing on the cake anyway. World Cup in my home country was everything I dreamed of and so much more. This was also my first World Cup since I started watching club football, so that added tons of extra excitement too! Imma be updating this in the coming days with all the highlights and memories that were made over the past month. We ended up finishing it on the day of the final 🥳 sticker book has always been a wc highlight for me, sitting around opening packs with the fam Golden boot race! Was absolute madness this year, I loved it sm. Random trash can! The only attraction in the stadium fan zones that had no line. Hugo! Not the first time I’ve seen him in LA ofc, but seeing legends show up at the wc always hits (shoutout 2010 Spain gang) Fav players: Haaland: I was so so happy he delivered on the global stage. He’s been my fav personality in the game lately, and I’m glad he’s everyone else’s now too Messi: true god-mode performance. I firmly believe 🇦🇷 deserved the 2014 🇪🇸 and 2018 🇩🇪 fate, but this man single-handedly not only prevented that but took them to the final?? Eternal legend Djed: the man could not be stopped. He truly can pocket your fav winger Porro: look at me. I am the Trent now Jude: his performance at the azteca is the greatest performance I’ve seen, full stop Vozinha: idk how many goalies I’ll have here, but he takes #1 for sure. Heck, player of the tourney honestly. One I’ll truly never forget Olise: the man does magic. No goals was funny tho
