Thoughts on the match: I’ve been backing wirtz all this time but today I really just could not. His confidence looks shot, and he’s just not the player we need him to be right now. Isak really wasn’t great outside of the goal, but you get a striker to score goals and he has 4 in 5 games so can’t be too harsh. Nyoni actually really impressed me when he came on. Lots of ball winning and an unlucky handball. Munoz looked good for his limited time and koumas can actually run forever. Not too much else to say, not our best game but 3 points is 3 points so we move.

yaaaaaaawwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnn… Most miserable watch of the season so far. Gravenberch and Szoboszlai can’t play together in the pivot, they constantly give the ball away. I keep saying this and nothing fucking changes. We played maybe five wingers in this match and all of them were fucking useless, I felt sorry for Isak because them and Wirtz have give him fuck all today.

Real Madrid2 - 1Inter
What a match! High intensity from the off and didn’t relent. Definitely lived up to the hype. Inter looked so dangerous on the attack, particularly in the first half but Courtois had a brilliant game in goal and Inter were the architects of their own downfall with 2 horrible mistakes that led to Real’s goals. That was such a Mourinho win. Less possession, less shots, less chances, less passes, less distance covered but more goals. Bisseck had an insane game in defence, more than making up for his early mistake (which, to be fair, was half Curtis Jones fault as well). A really entertaining game from 2 good teams who should go far this year. Edit: looking at the other reviews and ratings, I’m surprised I’m in the minority of people who enjoyed this game. Thought it was end to end with lots of good chances.

A poor first half gave way for an unbelievable second half. Only two real chances at either end to begin with with Bruno hitting the bar and Barry missing a sitter of a header. Mbuemo got things moving with a great solo effort to pull United ahead. It stayed that way for a while until Tyrique George switched to the right wing to supplement Grealish and bagged a great leveller. The drama was far from done as Sesko bounced a header in himself that Barry wishes he could've put away earlier. With such little time left, you'd have been forgiven to think United were going home with three points. But Everton after deadline day had something up their sleeves: an actual RB. And not just any RB, a proven one in Ainsley Maitland-Niles. He proceeded to score an absolute thunderbastard at the death to snatch a point back on his Everton debut. Everton, despite failing to grab a new striker and losing their star winger in Ndiaye, look stronger than they did before. Maitland-Niles will surely be a star at the Hill Dickinson and I'm amazed Everton have bagged a player as good as him. In contrast, United's struggles in the full-back positions are still apparent with Dalot really struggling in this game and Shaw's quality only really showing in the opposing half.

Besides not being a very entertaining game its just a shit result again for us, at least we scored? I guess. This midfield just doesnt bring anything, offensively we waste chances, and defensively you would get better results using mannequins. Ill still have faith i guess and it all needs time with new players but these 3 games have been dreadful and brought me zero joy watching this beautiful club. Mandragora being man of the match against Fiorentina feels shit too.

Ipswich0 - 2Liverpool
Liverpool were much better than the last 2 games, they actually took control of the game by the scruff of the neck. And when they were threatened, they were absolutely terrific in defence, all the basics and more were executed very well. I thought they could've had a lot more if they were on peak form. Isak finally bagging some goals, I don't think it's fully his fault that he wasn't performing in the first place. A nasty, untimely injury ruining all his momentum when he originally came in. Gakpo will be wondering why Liverpool were even considering selling him in the first place. Last week I mentioned he could've been sold, which was true, but I also said he has been far from the level Liverpool expect. However, if he keeps on putting in performances like this, he surely cements his spot in the team. Ipswich tried but it wasn't enough. A theme that I believe will continue to haunt them all season. Enciso and Palacios looked tidy, but everyone else just isn't a Premier League standard player I believe. You can still stay up with low quality standards, if you have a good manager. But I don't think they have that in Gary O'Neil. I don't see him staying for the whole season, if so, it will be interesting to see who they turn to if they do eventually sack him. Perhaps Kieran McKenna? MOTM is Gakpo, although Isak scored a brace, he was involved in many good things for Liverpool tonight. Great assist for the first too!

Overall not a bad performance, Gakpo played brilliantly and some overall very decent individual performances. Safe to say im happy with this one.

Great start this game for Liverpool, the Gakpo - Isak connection has been pretty good this season already. I think everything just looked very solid for Liverpool, besides being a bit shaky defensively it was a pretty good showing. Of course, its Ipswich, but last week it looked good too so ill see this as an actual improvement rather than only playing a weaker opponent. I think everyone played decent too, though i was very impressed by MacAllister, often someone to get hate but he showed up today. So ill be a bit niche and give him man of the match, i just love midfielders. Another thing is that Liverpool their depth is just so so so much better than last year, that will be a huge improvement this season. Ipswich weren’t *that* bad but it was nowhere near good either. Thought Palacios was brilliant, other than him it was very mediocre. Quite shocking they had more shots, just did absolutely nothing with it.

The Liverpool I've wanted to see is finally here! The first half had us bag our two winning goals very early on, with Isak being supplied brilliantly from Gakpo. Seeing these two alongside Wirtz co-operate together so well tonight was very fun, especially with the struggles all three players had last season. The second half had us slow down significantly, I'm not too big on it but at least we're doing this kind of play while we're ahead for once. Barcola got a runout during this half too, and his pace and skill looked exciting from the admittedly brief glimpses he got to shine with the ball at his feet. Other things I would like to point out are Szoboszlai learning to play deeper, he did it initially starting at DM and kept at it when he moved to the RW later on. Munoz, who started in that position, still looks brilliant and I think should be starting and playing there as much as possible. With the RB position, Iraola's risky decision to move Araujo in there paid off tremendously. He looked sharp at the back all game, and I think the physicality of the league and less eyes on him from the lack of armband wearing him down will make him back into the star defender he was a few years ago. Andoni's arrived in the way his predecessor did: a 2-0 away win at Portman Road. This time around though, I'm hoping to see some intensity, physicality and (of course) some more trophies come in over the next couple of seasons.
