Qatar beats Abu Dhabi this time. Doue is an exceptional footballer. Bouaddi made a big difference for Citeh, but it wasn’t nearly enough to come back from that first half. Glad PSG won I guess, but hopefully both of these clubs will be liquidated shortly! (who am I kidding lol)

ok so definitely a lot of things to review about after this game (EXTREMELY long yap): honestly, this is a frustrating result for several reasons, but what concerns me most isn’t even the score itself; it’s the way we continue to expose the same vulnerabilities, and how much more difficult our next match has become as a result. going 2-0 down to viking in the first half is simply unacceptable for a supposed 'powerhouse' team like bayern is. regardless of the opponent, the defensive mistakes and lack of control were concerning, and viking capitalised on that. credit to viking for their performance, but bayern should never have allowed the game to become this difficult in the first place. the second half was a different story offensively. we showed the attacking quality necessary to turn the game around, kane’s brace and lucho's goal being a response that's expected whenever bayern is down. HOWEVER, there’s a difference between having the ability to rescue a game, and having the control necessary to prevent yourself from needing to rescue it in the first place. time and time again, i've seen us demonstrate the first, without ever being fully capable of the latter. and this is exactly why olise’s red card is so frustrating. beyond the obvious consequences of losing a player when he was needed, this means we’ll be without one of our most important attackers against arsenal. olise is an integral part of our ability to breakthrough defensive barriers. there’s a very real difference between bayern with olise and bayern without him, especially when facing a team like arsenal, who is capable of compactly defending and limiting the spaces available for actual play (like high/low blocks). ultimately, this was a game we SHOULD have won. the comeback demonstrated our great attacking quality. but our score at halftime, the result of losing a player, and just our overall lack of control throughout this game; exposes our VERY REAL inconsistencies.

Saarbrücken2 - 4MSV Duisburg
man what a match 😭 it started off really slow but duisburg was completely dominating at one, scoring 3 goals in like 10 minutes. when saarbrücken scored, it did look like they could come back but they didn't use any of their chances. and so, duisburg eventually sealed the deal. sorry for the false advertisement rye.. 😭

Wow what a game! It seems Bayern are all over the place this season. The defense is disastrous and the build up play has been almost non existent. Tell me why they keep consistently allowing other teams to score on them so early in the game? Where is the concentration? Vincent Kompany please get to work because it’s not looking too hot. The random bursts of energy where the team manages to comeback won’t last forever. We need a balance and it seems this team has none of it at the moment. Shoutout the golfer Kane for his brace, but disappointing red card from Olise that ended up hurting the team. Something needs to change and soon.

The perpetrators of the largest financial cheating scandal in sports history performed as you’d expect them to, as they attempt to obstruct and disrupt the ongoing legal process to hold them accountable, allowing them to consolidate their footballing power in the meantime in a desperate attempt to mitigate the consequences of their blatant and unashamed cheating. Classless winners, even more sore losers, all around unsportsmanlike, cheating scum. I’ve waited to pass my own judgement on City fans so far, as I expect this would complicate and cloud lots of feelings toward the club for any fans. But with each passing day, they seem to demonstrate total complicity and approval of the massive cheating and fraud their club has perpetrated. Are there a handful of “good ones” out there? Certainly, shoutout @olivia and @der_raumdeuter of course, but I suppose I should have expected nothing less from the plastic supporters of a club like City, run by people with so much ego, and such a blatant disregard for the rules of competition. At every turn, City have believed themselves to be bigger than the league, bigger than the sport, and bigger than any consequences that may come. This arrogance has infected much of the fanbase, which is where my real disappointment lies now. Have you truly no shame at all? How embarrassing… Ultimately, this result is largely meaningless, and that’s the most frustrating and angering part of this whole disgusting mess. Years of our collective lives, years of Premier League competitions, years of football results are simply null. Millions of memories robbed, careers wasted, and clubs punished for the sin of fair play. I’ve never been one to lose my head about rivals, but when you see how important football is to people, to the world, you can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of anger and injustice. City have robbed us of everything football is about, and I pity the kids who’ve grown up and known nothing else. Fuck you, Manchester City

a letter to liverpool: 3 weeks. i waited 3 weeks. anticipation and excitement filled my heart, as i thought of all the endless possibilities of the ending to this match. pride filled my veins. my mind was filled with fantasies of szobo kissing the badge after scoring a free kick, a gakpo dagger and isak winner to seal it all off. but that’s not what happened. you couldn’t allow me to live with those thoughts. injury plagued our 3 best players. but it’s okay right? city will be rattled. they’re coming to a locked and loaded anfield. we’ll show them how the league feels about their charges. but we didn’t. first half sold me a dream. delight filled my body. i thought we would do it. despite the injuries we’ve incurred, i though it would work out. then the red came. my silliness took a physical form when the ref showed grav a red. i knew that was the moment i never knew how right i would be. this was fucking embarrassing. we let these cheats score and shoot 3 at anfield. i’ve never seen a team crack under pressure like how you have today. this was an absolute nightmare. you would’ve thought we had 114 the way we broke apart. i am enraged. if i continue to type, i fear i might get banned. my heart is in pieces. my sanity is hanging onto a thread. liverpool, i am distraught.

after jose mourinho’s post match interview where he laughed at arteta saying he’s just getting started after over 6 years and 6 full season there, claiming that the standards at real madrid are just different, you’d expect him to show us exactly why he’s called the “special one”, why his team deserve to be considered one of europe’s best and why they have so many talented players in one starting xi but i find myself baffled as to what direction this team has. from the beginning, real madrid lacked cohesion. stringing together passes aimlessley that just about made their way to mbappe where he’s either offside or missing the chance (which was consistently today, no clue how he didn’t get hooked for espi but we know mou doesn’t makes subs off merit). jude did nothing of note. can almost be forgiven when he’s been the only one working in the last few games. diomande’s goal was good and obviously the winner, and i like that he’s actually applying effort but it did come more centrally/on the right than the left, mildly concerning for a left winger but whatever. the arda rw and tchouameni-valverde midfield pivot experiment is actually mind numbing. for starters arda has done nothing to suggest he can play near the touchline or cut inside and he’s only looked good in matches playing centrally, imo he’s more of an 8 than a rw or playmaking 10 to me. second of all, it’s been painfully apparent that valverde plays best as a fullback and tchouameni as a centre back, both are incredibly underwhelming on the ball (tchouameni in particular). not much to say about the defence today, surprisingly they did their job especially cucurella when coming on and trent did well in the first half at creating chances which is why him being taken off confused me so much. i suppose vini being subbed on was good for confidence but it means nothing if you don’t have a big enough lead. very stupid red by the way (even if it was a yellow, dumb move generally). overall, i’m not surprised. 👎

So, the day has come. The day millions, maybe even billions, have been dreading has finally arrived. A human, much like any of us, has somehow managed to change all of our lives. He has influenced us in ways that perhaps no one else ever could. I started watching him when I was around five or six, but somehow, it feels like I knew him even before that. Like I had been watching him play from my mother’s womb. There was always something different about him. And rightfully so. For more than ten years, he made my life what it was. He gave me moments I’ll probably never be able to put into words, and memories that I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. But alas, all great things must come to an end. Fortunately, his absence hasn’t really hit me yet. I don’t know when the days of sobbing and weeping will come, or when it’ll truly sink in that I won’t get to watch him play again. But for now, I’d rather dwell on the memories he gave me, as a Barça fan, an Argentina fan, and, above all, a Messi fan. If I had to describe his entire footballing journey in one sentence, it would be: He came, he saw, he conquered — both football and the hearts of billions. Gracias, Leo. For everything. The greatest there is. The greatest there was. The greatest there will ever be.

My heart is refusing to believe that this is over. That this is the absolute last time he’s representing this country. Ever. Messi was the reason behind it all. Messi’s the one who introduced me to this magical world of football, to the club that became my home, my safe place and smt I love like nobody else can, to a country i dont even belong to yet somehow it belongs within me. Messi has been a huge part of my life since childhood til this very moment, and I cant really remember a stage in my life without a memory of him in it, Ive watched him losing, Ive watched him trying, Ive watched him coming back stronger again and again, every single time, and i’ve watched him winning and getting what he deserves. now that i am realizing i appreciate this more than ive thought i would. ive always known that THIS day would come, yet ive never braced myself, i couldnt. I can’t imagine a world of football without him, the one who was, is, will forever be my everything in this world. something will forever feel missing and empty without him. Now that i’m thinking of it, it’s a blessing that i got to grow up in a time when messi existed and played, and ive got to watch it from the start to the very end. And God knows that one day i’ll tell someone that YES i’ve watched messi play, I’ve witnessed it, cheered for him to the very last moment, proudly and lovingly, but they probably won’t understand how much that means to me, cuz they wont understand who messi really is to us, his loyal, geniune supporters. I’m lost for words, really, nothing feels enough to express this bittersweet moment. Every moment spent with him is easily one of my best moments. And I dont think that i’ll admire, love and cherish anyone the way i admire, love and cherish Messi. “اشكر الظروف التي جعلت منك لاعب يا ميسي❤️”.

isn’t it crazy how such minuscule details can heavily impact your entire life? my family isn’t really football-oriented, so i was never interested in football growing up. when i was around 6 tho, my cousin started staying with us. he was into football ofc and he’d always try and force me to play fifa with him. i would always decline but he was so persistent about it and after a few months of his pestering, i finally caved in. it’s safe to say that i fell in love with the game.😭 i would always pick barcelona bc i was so obsessed with messi. i didn’t care about the other players, all i did was try to pass to messi and score with him. i was genuinely infatuated with this man. i even got his full kit irl.😭 i think that’s what makes it so crazy when looking back. what if my cousin never stayed with us? what if he decided to stop pestering me to play fifa with him after i declined countless times? maybe i wouldn’t have fallen in love with messi in the first place, and without being so infatuated with messi, maybe i wouldn’t have enjoyed fifa nearly as much as i did. i probably wouldn’t have even cared for the sport, if not for that fact. i genuinely cannot imagine my life without football now. it’s almost my entire personality, and lowk, messi is too. messi is football to me. after 21 whole years, he’s played his final international game and it’s such a strange feeling. i knew this day would inevitably come, but i would always push the thought to the back of my mind. i’ve spent basically my entire life watching this man play football. so many of my earliest memories are tied to messi, and now i’ll never get to see him wear those blue and white stripes again. what a poetic ending too. a goal and two assists in your final game. one of the assists being to your fellow teammate, who’s retiring alongside you, and the other to the next 🔟 for the country. it doesn’t get any better than that. i know i’m late to writing this. i wanted to write it yesterday but i needed a little time to process it. i’ve always hated goodbyes esp with players who’ve been part of my life. if it were up to me, nothing i love would ever end. i started watching football in 2014 without knowing how much i’d fall in love with it. i didn’t think i’d care that much, then there was messi, barça, argentina and i was gone. i remember the 2014 final and how painful it was seeing you lose something you wanted so badly. then in 2022, i got to see you finally win it. i’ll never forget how happy i was for you. you finally got the moment you deserved. i know i didn’t watch every year of your prime and there are moments i wish i could go back and see but i don’t need to have watched every second to know what you mean to me. there’ll never be another player who gives me that feeling. you weren’t just someone i watched play football, you were one of the reasons i fell in love with it. i grew up watching you and now i’m crying over edits, realizing i’ve watched the end of your argentina career. i knew this day would come but that doesn’t make it any easier. no more seeing your name in an argentina lineup, no more waiting to see what only messi can do. i really hate that it’s over. thank you for everything, lionel. for the goals, the memories and all the impossible things you made look normal. i hate that people tried to take that away from you, saying there had to be some explanation for why you were that good instead of just appreciating that they were lucky enough to witness it. none of that changes what you gave football or us. i’ll always remember the player i first watched in 2014 and somehow ended up caring about this much and maybe when the club retirement comes, i’ll be crying again, asking if we can delay it for another 15 years but that’s a problem for another day. for now, thank you. i don’t think i’ll ever be ready to say goodbye but i guess that's what this is.

oh messi, what to say. the greatest to ever touch the game. a revolutionary player who widened the eyes of all viewers and players who have any inclination towards the sport of football. you showed us new levels which seem impossible to even dream about- let alone to perform. you have completed all their is to complete for your country, you retire today as a national icon and legend- both in your country and in the world. the honour and pride which you have given your country is nothing short of a miracle. myself, who is nothing close to an argentine, celebrated you- and your country’s- most monumental achievements, as your presence always invited the most attention and admiration. you united multitudes of people with different cultures and nationalities to celebrate and share in the beauty of football, because it was your beautiful football that inspired all to learn and engage with the sport while this isn’t the end of your football journey,- thank god- today marks as another reminder of how influential and valuable you are- not just to your country, but the whole footballing world. millions tuned in to honour you on your last international game, and we will gather once more when the unfortunate and devastating day of retirement fallls upon us. thank you for showing us utter greatness and resilience.

lionel andrés messi cuccittini, where do i begin? there are not enough words in the english dictionary to describe a player of your calibre and even if there was it still wouldn't be enough. 21 years of wearing the argentinian shirt will never be enough, it should've been for an eternity. from your argentina debut in 2005 to winning the the world cup in 2022, you have given us incredible memories that will live with us forever. you have given your heart and soul for this country and ur efforts will never be forgotten ❤️🩹 for all of the highs you have experienced in these 21 years you have also gone through the worst times possible including the gut-wrenching 2014 world cup final loss to germany through to the heart breaking copa america losses in 2015 and 2016. the decision to overturn your retirement in 2016 was one of the best things you could've done as we wouldn't have seen u lift 2 copa america's, the finalissima as well as winning the 2022 world cup after chasing this dream for so long 🥹 messi's international retirement is a sad sad day for us all but it is also an important time to reflect on all of the beautiful memories he has given us incredible memories in an argentina shirt: winner against iran in the 2014 wc, a hattrick against ecuador to save argentina from not qualifying for the 2018 wc, saving argentina from an early exit from the 2022 world cup by scoring against mexico as well as becoming tje only player EVER to score in EVERY SINGLE STAGE of a world cup tournament (this man is exceptionally INSANE to be making records at his age) seeing you lift the world cup in 2022 was one of the happiest moments i have ever experienced. the world cup had always been a trophy that had evaded you but you did everything in your power to ensure the world cup trophy was coming back to argentina. they treated you like a king, lifting you up with the world cup trophy and lifting you up in the air. i would do anything to relieve this again.
