Danny Ward was clear MOTM until he got bored and gave a pen away.

Let the underestimations of Greece continue. Those lads should be extremely proud of giving everything, lot of defending but it got them over the line. Proud of this unbeaten run!

Really end to end in the last 10 minutes but we've got to be winning these kind of games. A shame I thought because the ladies played some great football too. Just missing that final third product.

Manzambi is genuinely something special, so relieved he didn't get injured from that wild tackle. Hilarious moment for the first Swiss goal @carbonfiverr 😭😭

Croatia0 - 7EnglandOne of the most one sided games I've seen in a while, the game was already done in the first half. Although Croatia should've had one goal with a sitter missed by Mateo Kovacic, it would've been far from deserved. England were better on every aspect and you could absolutely argue the scoreline flattered Croatia, it was extremely embarrassing for those top level players on their home soil to show absolutely no fight, at the end I felt bad for the schoolchildren in the crowd who had to watch that mess 😭

Aston VillaAston Villa2 - 1Liverpool
What a day this was, 9 year old Theo was in dreamland with jubilant family around. Tim Sherwood gets a lot of stick for his time at Villa, most of it is rightfully so with his stubbornness in management, but let us not forget the memories he helped create in this FA Cup run. "Super Jack" Grealish making a name for himself this season and this was the biggest statement of them all, toying with Liverpool at every given chance. Prime Christian Benteke was something to behold, without shadow of a doubt he kept Villa up for multiple seasons with his lethal finishing. We all know this was the match that Liverpool saw him as a gem, a shame he didn't work out there in the end. His sale really hurt Villa and ultimately guided us to a dismal 20th place the next season, but I'm not here to dwell on the dark times. Fabian Delph leading by example with the armband, still scoring one of the most satisfying goals I've seen in football. Maybe I am biased, but the backheel from Benteke, the through ball from Grealish and then the cut back inside and the way the ball just bobbled over Mignolet into the back of the net, wow. To some it may seem like a simple goal, but Villans such as myself still remember every second to this day. The players defended for their lives at the end, Richardson with a goal line clearance, Given with his experience in helping us get over the line. And although there was a refereeing error in disallowing a Balotelli goal, I think we were definitely deserved winners for the passion those players gave on the pitch, something we didn't really see all season. Even when we were 1-0 down to a tidy Coutinho finish, I felt a spark telling something good is to come on this day. And it did. The 2010s don't give many good memories for Aston Villa, maybe why we all fondly remember this game, but I'm glad I do. I remember bragging at school about the result, I believe I earned it with the banter directed at my club constantly. We don't speak of the final though...
Aston VillaWales2 - 1Norway
Norway were terrible, from Nyland to Haaland. Wales pounced on the weaknesses and deserved the win.
WalesGreece2 - 2Netherlands
Despite the bottle, I can feel nothing but pride for this Greek side. I think Jovanovic made a mistake in being extra defensive, but it is what it is. GG my Dutch bro @carbonfiverr
GreeceCzechia0 - 2EnglandSolid performance. Key points I'll take away - Gordon looking amazing in this system, he HAS to be the starting LW for years to come. Kane ghosting again but as usual finding a goal from nothing. I love him and the goals he scores but he needs to find the right balance of involvement in a game, as he either gets too involved or not involved at all, both which can affect the performance negatively. Good to see Ngumoha and Scott get on the pitch, two stars that are definitely part of England's future. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Lewis Hall are an effective fullback duo, impressed today and both proving Tuchel wrong about being left out of the World Cup squad in America. MOTM is Anthony Gordon, been up there with Bellingham and Kane performance wise for England as of recent, including his World Cup performances. Maybe Barcelona were right about his price tag all along....
EnglandNorthern Ireland0 - 0Hungary
Northern Ireland worked really hard throughout but didn't get enough quality in the final third. Thought Hungary were really poor for the quality they have, both teams looked quite tired at the end. @sitheach fair play with these 0-0 predictions mate 😂

MexicoEngland2 - 3Spain
Horrible start, but England made a decent account for ourselves as the game went on. Extremely silly from Guehi to make an error like that so early, literally no need to turn and hand it on a plate. England responded really well and had some really good and positive plays. Gordon with a lovely linkup with Bellingham and finish using his unmatched pace. Then Kane with a header that was comically guided in by Cucurella, made everyone but the Spanish laugh I think. England had a fortunate penalty in the second half blazed over by Harry Kane, which my dad and myself BOTH called he'd miss. From then Spain took their chances with England being so casual in defence, as usual, after many good combinations in the attack leading to squandered chances. This is what happens though, make mistakes and you get punished, especially against the World Champions. We go again, I was impressed with Gordon, but there was one player who stood out, Jarrel Quansah. The only good defender tonight, he worked his socks off in both defence and attack, so he's my MOTM for England. Overall MOTM is probably Lamine Yamal, didn't do a lot but the stuff he did do was quality and was a huge factor in Spain winning the game.

Italy0 - 2BelgiumItaly are seemingly unsaveable. This was their moment to restart a new era with flying colours but they got everything wrong tonight very disappointing. More boos for Barella again, another night to forget for him in an Italian shirt. If it wasn't for Donnarumma it would've been even more embarrassing, they need to turn things around extremely quickly for at least some progress. Belgium were solid and not really threatened too much with Godts, Tielemans and Raskin the standout players. I'll give MOTM to Godts for the goal and he really threatened down that left side, probably should've got another goal though.
BelgiumGeorgia0 - 1Northern IrelandCrap first half where Georgia deserved a lead, but wow that second half was end to end. Didn't think it was a pen for Georgia and Pierce Charles saved the day, more than once. His brother, Shea, at the death to win it in one of the best Nations League group stage matches I've seen 😭😭❤️🩹

Pretty routine and comfortable for Milan, they scored some good goals too. Lovely touch and finish for Pulisic for the first, a great team goal for the second and a simple finish for the third. No Serie A or Premier League for 3 weeks now 💔💔💔

Fulham1 - 1Man United
A game of luck. Fulham were strong throughout and were rewarded with Lisandro Martinez tapping it into his own net from 8 yards. Quite comical really, but these things happen in football. United didn't really react with much quality, but finally some luck fell to them, when a late Matheus Cunha strike deflected past Leno, who was absolutely unreal today. I don't think either of these teams would be happy with a point, as a win was needed for both Arbeloa and Carrick, but a point is better than nothing. Giving MOTM to Leno as he saved Fulham plenty of times, Calvin Bassey was solid as well too.
Fulham
Man City5 - 3Sunderland
What an amazing game, Man City came out on top with some quality finishes, but let's not take any credit away from Sunderland and Brian Brobbey (Brobbery @scartinelli), they were brilliant. These are my favourite types of games, defensive chaos and attacking joy, not when Villa are in that situation, but when I can just sit back and enjoy the football. Thanks for the Sunday afternoon cinema, Manchester City and Sunderland. ❤️🩹👏 I don't usually give MOTM to the losing team, but Brobbey was an absolute beast.
Sunderland
Bournemouth0 - 1LiverpoolNot much to say about this game 😂 Isak seems to have found a bit of a rhythm finally. Bournemouth were okay, not bad but not good enough. Liverpool with better quality in the end. Jacquet was solid again so giving him MOTM.
Liverpool
Wolves1 - 0West Brom
Typical, scrappy English derby in Wolverhampton. I said that West Midlands derbies know how to do it right, the game wasn't the best, but the atmosphere and the duels on the pitch carried the game. Wolves clearly had more quality, but West Brom still fought til the end, they just had no quality in the final 3rd of the pitch. The fact that it took a Nat Phillips mistake to win the game for Wolves too shows it was still there for the Baggies if they had created a decent chance. O'Leary was brilliant in that first half, but Andre was great again for Wolves, probably should've been booked but he won plenty of duels and interceptions. Thought it was odd at the end that the referee told Toti to go off but he ignored him and the referee didn't even notice. The poor standards of English refereeing...

Fair play Coventry. Managed to dig in and find a win. Forest were many levels below from what I saw at Villa Park last week. Off day for the Reds.

Roma2 - 2Inter
Unacceptable first half, tragic defending and attacking. Kone bullied the midfield and we paid the price. Roma deserved the lead. Much better second half, dug deep and actually put more of an effort into it. Lautaro was rewarded with his efforts and stepped up like a leader should, if only we saw this fight in the first half it might've been a different story today. Really frustrating again we had to come back. Too much switching off in defence in recent matches. Chivu has to sort it out ASAP.
Inter
Brighton3 - 0Arsenal
Brighton are on absolute fire! They look exceptional in attack and defence. I doubt they can keep up the momentum with Europe in midweek, but it would be nice to see a different team get into the top 4/5. Too early for those shouts however. Pascal Gross is on exceptional form, an FPL Manager's dream! Off day for Arsenal today, they can happen even to the best of teams. I definitely think they'll be alright and the long international break will help soften the lows of this defeat. Seen plenty of Arsenal fans still optimistic though, not a result that is ideal. But it's also not doom and gloom.
Brighton
Tottenham2 - 3Aston VillaFar from comfortable ending but I thought we were so good in that second half. The defensive shape Emery kept us in was elite management, Suzuki, Mings, Manzambi, Jackson and Ruggeri with standout performances. Glad to get 3 points, don't care how, but the 3 points is what matters. Would've been nice to keep a clean sheet and I thought Zion deserved it for his heroics, but football isn't kind, especially to Villa 😂 Buendia with his annual Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tax collection, what a way to do it too. He didn't have a great first half but showed up when it mattered ❤️🩹 Zion kept us in the game in the first half with crucial saves, without him it would've been a different story, I feel very safe with him❤️🩹❤️🩹 UTV 💜💙
