Hugely deserved for Lens. Despite only 1-0 the game was full of action. Risser was absolutely excellent all game. Huge moment for them and the fans, very good scenes to see. PSG were extremely poor, disappointing night for them. Especially after playing against 10 men for the majority of the game. No one really turned up. Thought the referee was terrible. The first red was never a red and he blew too early for another major chance that led to a Lens goal, meaning it couldn't get given by VAR. Congratulations Lens!

1 star for each goal, not the most exciting game ever. Man City were so poor, knew Arsenal would win but not that easily. Think that they will struggle to stay in a title race this season.... Arsenal very impressive, play like that and they can definitely retain the league again. Glad to see Tzolis play well on his competitive debut 🇬🇷 MOTM is between him and Odegaard but my bias is drifting towards him... AND to add we were missing 5 first team players, whereas they had their FULL team on the pitch. Despite the result, I feel nothing but positivity from this team. The George Hemmings and Ian Maatsen partnership was absolutely unreal. Brian Madjo an absolute tank. Kamara and Gomes were absolutely brilliant. Bizot even, fantastic. The positive adjectives for each and every player are limitless. I'm so proud of this team. May this be the beginning of a great era under the great Unai Emery. We love him to bits, we wouldn't change him for anyone. I hope we've proved a lot of doubters wrong, once again. The ceiling of this team is only held back by the PL's dodgy rules. Quick word on the referees, awful. But enough about them. This is about Aston Villa 💜💙 Congratulations to PSG, it was a great game. May we meet again 🙂↕️ UP THE FUCKING VILLA!!!

BG Pathum United1 - 3Aston VillaAnother very solid 90 minutes, some of the play was very very good. The youngsters never fail to impress and are getting better and better every game. First half was the Joao Gomes show though, he was absolutely everywhere. Goals from Buendia and Lindelof to practically seal the game in the first half. Second half wasn't as smooth however there were some fluid little plays. BOUBA HAS RETURNED!! WE ARE SAVED. AND WHAT A WAY TO COME BACK WITH A GOAL TOO! Pathum goal was a good finish but it took us being a man down after McGinn took a knock to do so, where he eventually didn't come back on. Garnacho also went off with a bloody mouth before HT. Really hope that McGinn one isn't serious though, he looked in a lot of pain with the way he landed on his knee. MOTM is TJ Carroll as he played the whole game and was very solid throughout. Very good signs for the Villa youth as a whole. Onto Bayern, UTV 💜💙

On paper it looks like we've been hammered, but I thought it was a very even game. 2 of their goals shouldn't have been goals, 1 being offside and the other wasn't even a foul for the free kick. 2-2 would've been a fair result. Really disappointed in the referee too, he wasn't very good but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he was inexperienced. Madjo, Hemmings, Maatsen and Cisse were fantastic today. Good stints from Torres, Buendia and Gomes too. At the end of the day it's not about winning, despite the satisfaction, but that there were no injuries and everyone is fit enough for the Super Cup. I'll give Madjo the MOTM for his excellent hold up play and his deserved, well taken goal. Hemmings was close but big Brian takes it for me. Onto the Asian tour, UTV! I feel that we would've got at least a point if we kept the pressure consistently. Second half so many wasted chances to score, however we did ride our luck defensively so I suppose it evens it out.
