A game that has been discussed so much over the past three weeks since the guilty verdict from Man City. Even more so than this fixture usually has. Though with a poor first half with mostly brawls, this game really did live up to the hype in my opinion. From the banners, the chants, and then the red card and complete collapse of Liverpool. Did i think it was a second yellow for Gravenberch? No not necessarily, but you know you’re on a yellow, and you know its unbelievably risky to go for that challenge, so in a way it’s deserved. I don’t like cheaters, but i sure can appreciate a good game of footy, and especially when it has the type of goal Doku produced because that was a beauty, and if they then also score a goal like the 3-0 then i sure as hell can forget about the charges for a solid 114 seconds.

For a game so close in stats Groningen absolutely ran away with it. Deserved win for sure but the scoreline is rather exaggerated. Huge for Groningen though, they are still looking great this season.

Super early red kinda ruined this, at least Telstar scored from the free kick. Then two quick goals put of nowhere really from ADO but after that it was all Telstar. Neither team is happy with this as Telstar wanted to win against 10 and ADO will be wondering if they couldve won without that red card. Got kinda sad after Koeman Jr his interview though, seems to still be struggling with the loss of his mother, just rather depressing to be thinking about. Especially with him blaming himself for not being as sharp.

Orsolini worldie is all Bologna needed to be not shit, they should do that more often. Fun game though quite tight between both sides, Lecce may have deserved more from this game.

5th consecutive loss at home for PEC Zwolle, and another poor game from them. Currently this is looking like a relegation side. Not much positive to see about PEC at all. But im glad Cambuur is getting some points slowly. Good game from Thijs Jansen as well.

The first 0-0 of the Serie A season, but a very entertaining one. First half saw some good chances, even a chance from Dybala within 5 minutes that should’ve ended in a goal. The first half ending with an incredibly controversial call where i think Wesley should’ve received red, but nothing was given. Luckily Malen had respect i guess and decided to grab a red for himself in the second half, absolutely insane foul to make that’s nothing like the Malen i know lmao. Highlight of the game has to be the ref needing a substitution, type of shit that only happens in Serie A, its so beautiful i love this league.

Not too long of a review because i do wanna sleep. Mostly, well, only watched this in preparation for the Roma vs Real Madrid preview im writing lmao. Im not too convinced by this side, just looks so sloppy and so many fouls too. Idiotic Vini red, absolute dimwit honestly. I have more specific thoughts leading up to their next game but ill leave those for my preview im writing in the next days, shameless self promo (kinda).

Didn’t have time to write for this earlier but good game, strong Feyenoord and a decent AZ. AZ probably shouldve had a penalty though but its a close call really. Regardless good performance from Feyenoord, wanted AZ to lose here so not too shabby. Vanhoutte is genuinely insane as well, feel like his level is much above Eredivisie.

I uhhh, well, should’ve, and kind of did expect this result. Frankly i’ve had too much alcohol from the Fiorentina disaster to care much here. I wanna start this review by talking about this phenomenon we call tactics. I very much assume our strategy was to lure NEC out and then play some quick direct football to score. But what happened is Ter Stegen having the ball and no one pressing him (Images included thank you VI and opta i couldnt find it anywhere else). Anyway i just found this funny, its something that of course could really work, but with NEC not biting at all it fell flat. Again, like most other games, we did well with creating chances, but our issue is very much converting those chances into goals. I still have faith, but boy watching this team create 600 chances and not scoring is frustrating to watch. Glad Bouwman played again, i missed him. Marcos Leonardo is still having a difficult time and i hope he gets form soon. Adingra did decent on his debut. Happy to see Tadic again even if its for another team, he’s an ajax legend either way (also picture included).

Entertaining game but most importantly Istra winning 💚💛 Frederiksen was incredible as always, he’s probably gone this winter window but hopefully he stays a little longer. But good result away from home against Osijek.

5* Eredivisie game, soooooo just like any other Eredivisie game? What a league this is, pure joy. Honestly a draw is probably deserved in the end, GAE had much more possession and had chances to finish off the game, but Sparta created more chances with less possession and equalized twice very quickly. Even Martes scoring a header, love that player though im a big fan of him. Zonneveld scoting a goal and a own goal too, rather hilarious. Babadi played incredible for Sparta too. Honestly this is why you cant miss any Eredivisie games because majority will be so entertaining.

Insane that both times a team took the lead the other team equalized after two minutes. Decent game overall but unfortunately Villa couldn’t win, solid result against a tough Brentford though. Manzambi was great as always, and Jackson looked good too. Of course, Mings being the guy who fucks up again. At least McGinn scored, but he REALLY should’ve scored right before half time as well, need to be scoring that. Also insane how Diouf didn’t get booked for that one foul, in my opinion that should’ve been a red. So reckless. But you cant expect English refs to be good at their jobs i suppose. Anyway man of the match Manzambi, i love that man and hes so damn good.

Just disappointed really. Awful performance from everyone on this team. Awful referee too. But losing to this Genoa is disgraceful, especially in the way we did. Just so fucking depressing this team. Nothing else to say really we played like shit and didn’t deserve anything here.

First premier league game in a solid three weeks, and it was quite a decent game as well. Arsenal were rather poor up until Leeds scored the first goal in the 55th minute. Especially in the first half it felt like they didn’t really create anything and they didn’t look sharp. Whereas Leeds looked the better side. But after that goal they finally woke up and looked a lot better. It is a little strange they needed to concede to properly wake up and get the hunger to perform. Considering their last game they were absolutely demolished by Brighton i had expected them to go a bit more aggressive into this. Regardless they got their result, that is what champions do i suppose. But it will need to be a lot better than this. Rice played well, as he always does really, for me he was the best player this game.

I’ve written this before the game, while i usually do tend to go for long reviews of games, i think this is the one time I’ll forget about the game completely. End of the day, whatever the result, it is a goodbye to the greatest footballer of all time, luckily only for the national team. So i will try to keep this mostly about the national team. August 17 2005 he made his debut for the national team. Of course if we look back from now he obviously has had a successful national team career, with two Copa America’s and a World Cup, including two more World Cup final appearances too. But just over 10 years ago he decided to retire on the spot after losing to Chile in the Copa America final, where he missed a penalty in the shootout too. I remember that day very well to be honest, it felt truly insane that he decided to quit. But, to the relief of i hope every football fan, he reversed that decision. Since then Argentina has become one of the most dominant teams despite not having the quality in every position, but just one brilliant little man is enough. Fact is that this goes beyond any goat debate that ever existed, it goes beyond any hate or love for players, and if you like it or not the greatest player to have walked this earth ends his national team career today. It might not be his toughest fixture against Benin, but it’s special regardless. I’m not the type of person usually to be watching a game for just one player, and when i do it was usually for a classic 10 like Isco, James, or Özil. Or Godts of course, can’t leave that beautiful man out of this. But Messi absolutely is one of those players, he’s the player you open a bottle of wine or whiskey for and just sit back and enjoy. You’ll be seeing things that are so unbelievably incredible which he makes look easy. Football is called the beautiful game, and Messi is why.

Mostly background watch for me because Luxembourg - Bulgaria was a priority. But Croatia started decent, after that it was all Spain though. Perisic red didnt help either and a Merino brace to win the game for Spain. At least they didnt get absolutely dismantled like against England at least 😵💫

Bulgaria was the better side in the first half and deservedly got a 0-2 lead, felt Luxembourg was poor. Definitely picked it up in the second half though they played much better but couldn’t fix the scorline. Regardless i expected more from Luxembourg this international break, Enzo Duarte looks exciting though but not the best games for him. Masterclass from the Bulgarian goalie as well.

I love France so much, again for no particular reason. What a show the last 10 minutes of the game, they honestly a poor showing overall. The Olise effect i suppose, so important for this team. Belgium looked decent, but we all know why they lost, if Godts started it wouldve been a different story.

So im a little late with this review, but thats good i wanted to include more things about this whole international break anyway. Concerning Serbia; of course again a low-block, it's a little rough watching that against this Netherlands team, but also just glad to be facing low-blocks early because we have ALWAYS struggled with this. I was happy to see experiments from Xavi too, a brand new three at the back, interesting for sure and i think it went alright for this game. Virgil did mention he felt a little weird playing as right center back, but he played on the left for so long so that is understandable. Besides that i just wanna say i appreciate Koopmeiners, he can play anywhere and hes always good too, hes free from the Juve curse when in orange. Glad Zirkzee scored too, always loved him. Verbruggen goat too, we are so so so lucky to have him. But about the international break im positive, seen four performances now under Xavi and im excited for more. Tough game against Greece but second half was better. Both games against Serbia just been hell with their playstyle. But against Germany we really dominated, hope we can continue with this form and get even better.

Actually very entertaining game, quite close between both sides. Like 20+ fouls and a late red too though so quite scrappy. Sad to see Lithuania lose, i like them a lot especially Gvidas Gineitis who played decently.

Dont quite know where to start, Slovenia was dreadful though a quick goal helped them. But like whatever the fuck happened in the Slovenian defense is something we will read about in history books. Complete mess and Oblak with a blunder to make it even better. Then a good Ndoye goal too which was deserved for Switzerland they were dominating. Besides that, like ive said on the World Cup as well in every Switzerland review probably, Manzambi is special, really really special. What a player he is.

This match accurately portrayed what is beautiful yet tragic about football; you can be the better side in the half and still concede four goals. This scoreline makes it seem Belarus dominated, but in reality San Marino played better. I have absolutely no clue how they managed it, in a way it is more impressive. Its been a tragic international break for San Marino who truly looked solid at times too, but conceding 14 in three games is… well quite a big issue.

Comfortable game for Belgium, who wouldve thought that playing Godts every game would have a positive impact? Well me obviously. The remaining relics of the once golden generation were of utmost importance today, with a De Bruyne brace (forgot he could still walk), and a Lukaku goal to top it off.

While i clearly love Italy i was supporting France for very unimportant reasons which are super irrelevant as well! Anyway why did Italy have to play well today, the one time i want them to lose. Not too great of a game but decent enough mostly enjoyed in the first half with two goals. Early red for Cyprus in the second half really made this poor with a defensive Cyprus and a rather unappealing offense from Armenia. Kind of crazy they didn’t score at all. Anyway, deserved win for Cyprus, and perhaps Beglaryan shouldn’t show his face again in Armenia after his dreadful mistake.
