U.N.A.M. - Pumas1 - 1Necaxa

Not a very great game though it was tense at times, unfortunate Necaxa couldnt pull through. Cant believe i saw Carranza score a goal that guy was fucking useless at Feyenoord.

Necaxa
Atletico San Luis1 - 1Pachuca

Worst game ever but a last minute equalizer by the goalie JAJAJJAJAJAJAJ VAMOSSS LOS TUZOSSS

Pachuca
Coritiba2 - 1Corinthians

Watching Corinthians as a fan takes courage, its not for the weak, its not for the children. You need to survive the deep lows to appreciate the peaks. Actually just dreadful though i have no positives at all here.

Coritiba
Elche0 - 5Barcelona

Very dominant performance from Barca, that high line is literally never gonna leave under Flick but today it worked well at least. Almost everyone played great from Barca, but specifically Raphinha, Fermin Lopez, Gordon, and Espart were incredible. They just make everything look so easy which is very fun to watch. Elche did start somewhat well though, had a good press going but the goals are just inevitable and they brought absolutely nothing to stop that from happening. Raphinha is the easy choice for man of the match. Espart somewhat close to it, he was class, such a great talent as well.

Barcelona
Rennes2 - 2PSG

Kvicha got hooked for Godts at halftime, theres levels to this left wing bub. Godts actually did well though without my clear and obvious bias, took corners as well which i was surprised by, might get a big role this season. Really rough for PSG, great goal from Rennes and throughout the game Safonov being ass at his job. Ferran the shark saved them in the end. PSG were pretty bad though, i saw Rennes counter all game and in the 80th minute they still let them counter from a corner like you couldve seen that one coming lmao. Just look rather poor defensively, so much space there.

PSG
Frosinone0 - 1Juventus

Pretty rough watch, honestly Juve didn’t even deserve to win #NoBias. If they wanna play UCL again they need to do much better than whatever this performance was lmao.

Juventus
HNK Rijeka3 - 2Istra 1961

Dreadful first half from Istra, and honestly they only woke up the last 20 minutes. Scoreline of 3-2 makes it seem much closer than it really was, lucky to not have conceded more tbh. Next week Dinamo Zagreb 😵💫

Istra 1961
Newcastle2 - 2Liverpool

Some dreadful defending this game from Liverpool. That second Newcastle goal shouldve been so easy to defend but they somehow fuck it up. I do feel like it will be similar to many other teams with a new manager, just gonna take time in a new system, rather unlucky their first game is a tough away game against Newcastle, which is always difficult. Newcastle did surprise me though they did a lot better than i expected, Elanga may have finally found his form. Osula and Wissa did good too. Just like last season some last minute action, gotta love it though. Liverpool got away with though. Newcastle couldve won at home against Liverpool for the first time in 12 years but alas.

Newcastle
De Graafschap WvsHeerenveen W

Caught some bits of this but a important win for De Graafschap, was quite a lovely goal too. Heerenveen shouldve had a goal too though but somehow missed a huge chance.
Cambuur2 - 5Feyenoord

First of all fuck all the away fans with their fireworks, endangering home fans and even players. Not even gonna be surprised if away fans are eventually banned. Cambuur is so fucking shit though 😭😭😭 dear god they reserved that 18th place for themselves already. Only surprising part of the scoreboard is that Cambuur managed to score twice.

Feyenoord
PSV Eindhoven5 - 1Groningen

Started great for Groningen but after that PSV completely dominated and it wasnt particularly close. Van Bommel honestly a 10/10 game he was incredible. Pretty typical PSV game again, those are rare nowadays. Defense looked decent for once as well.

PSV Eindhoven
Brighton4 - 0Aston Villa

Bloody fucking massacre 💔 Villa started very promising, great press and a huge chance for Buendia as well. But after the incredibly unlucky own goal it completely fell apart. The early red completely finished off this game. I don’t really think there’s anything meaningful to say about this game, Villa barely has a bench at this point and not even a striker so it was already gonna be tough. Its a very promising team if some players return from injury, and if some players join the club as well, but this certainly is a game to forget. Not so pretty record for João Gomes, first premier league player since Samba Diakité for QPR in 2012 to get a red card in the first half of their debut. Ref and VAR were horrid this game though. Gross shouldve been sent off at least. Hinshelwood man of the match i suppose.

Brighton
Man City2 - 1Bournemouth

City were better this game and won deservedly, even though it will be very popular to hate Maresca for no reason really, such is society these days. They had their chances and shouldve finished those, especially early in the game there was a chance for Haaland that he usually scores. In the end they still won so it wont matter that much now, and they will only get better as the season progresses. Especially with Bouaddi joining who is electric, one of my favorite upcoming midfielders. Cherki was great off the bench, he will probably get his chances now as well, maybe starting next week. But this game he was brilliant at least. So he gets man of the match for that. All the City fans doubting everything instead of just being patient with a new manager is truly something though, welcome back to the reality without the best manager in the world 😭😭 Predictions are too easy btw.

Man City
GO Ahead Eagles3 - 1ADO Den Haag

Even when at half time it seemed like one of the weaker games this season it still became very entertaining. Really great goals as well, GAE couldve scored more too but Nikiema is a great goalie. Tengstedt had a really good game, 4th Eredivisie game in a row that he scored in. I really like the way GAE have played this season, last season many of their struggles came from european midweek games, which they dont have now and that helps a lot. ADO is a tough one, i had them predicted to finish around 12th or so, but 0 points in 3 games is not great, especially since they werent necessarily close in their games either.
Inter Miami1 - 2Toronto

Genuinely no fucking clue why Messi willingly hangs out with a bunch of nobodies who cant do the simplest of things. Theyre so bad 😭😭😭

Toronto FC
Heerenveen0 - 2PEC Zwolle

Ruined my Eredivisie fantasy because i tripled up on Heerenveen players with my free hit chip PEC Zwolle did well though, but it felt a lot closer than the scoreboard implies.

PEC Zwolle
Espanyol1 - 2Real Madrid

Watching Real Madrid is genuinely quite frustrating, i dont even really see what their strategy is or what any of the tactics are. Just seems like theyre told to vibe, which is typical from Mourinho i suppose. While i dont necessarily hate that way of managing it doesnt work with these egos at all lmao. Which makes it dreadful to watch. Anything i’d say here has already been said 600 trillion times so i wont bother, everyone knows where their weakest spot lies. Theres just not any players i find particularly interesting. Obviously Mbappe is good but he doesnt work with Vini. I liked Bellingham on the world cup but again it rarely works out here. This club is genuinely just burning great talent that would be incredible to watch at any other club. Lucky to still win this game but i dont see them doing well if they continue like this. Vini shouldve red too for diving with yellow but oh well, a espanyol player shouldve had red for kicking vini his back in the 3rd minute too. Ill just give Guler man of the match but honestly all of them annoyed me lmao.

Real Madrid
Genoa0 - 2Napoli

So i hate Allegri, not very subtly either, i think hes one of the worst managers in Serie A, and part of the problem that keeps Italian football from modernizing. My Italian friend also hates him with a passion lmao. So lets say im not too surprised to see them struggle so much, rather typical for him. The positives are that Napoli tracked back really quickly so thats something, but offensively there was absolutely nothing, which is a Allegri classic. He was only ever successful by just letting elite players figure it out themselves, like at Juve. I guess they did win the game, but it really was just barely, there is absolutely nothing to be proud of. Rrahmani had 18 defcon this game, how does 2nd from last season manage to have a player with so many defcon against 16th from last year. 0-2 absolutely does no justice to the game i watched, disgusting Allegri win he should be jailed. Ill give Rrahmani man of the match because Napoli shouldve conceded and somehow didnt.

Napoli
Sparta Rotterdam3 - 3Utrecht

What a game, Utrecht took the lead 3 times and Sparta equalized 3 times too, with their last goal in the 96th minute. Both teams were really close in quality to each other all game so this is a deserved result. Brutal for Utrecht though who have a rough start to the season. Stepanov has been great for them though at least.

Utrecht
Inter4 - 1Monza

Il calcio è tornato 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹 one of my favorite leagues, the league i loved as a kid, and the league that brings joy to life. I recently read someone who described Serie A as theater rather than football, and honestly i couldn’t agree more. It may not have the quality it once had, but boy is it still beautiful. Great start for Inter, took 6 minutes and we already got a banger from Çalhanoglu. After that Inter was poor for a bit though, allowing Monza to get an equalizer too. Inter picked it up in the second half and destroyed Monza, quite an easy win in the end. Andy Diouf played great with two assists. Esposito also scored a beauty, that kid has so much potential so im glad hes getting game time. Not really sure why Monza played attacking football tbh, but like i respect it i guess 😭. Fun stat Opta posted is that Only Clarence Seedorf (13) scored in more consecutive Serie A seasons than Zielinski (12), together with Cuadrado, Ilicic, Liedholm, and Vecino. For me Diouf is clear man of the match.

Inter
Brentford3 - 0Tottenham

I really had faith in Spurs, in hindsight rather stupid, but i have absolutely no clue how they manage to do it. Their constant injuries are insane too. God knows how they ended up picking Archie Gray as captain as well, recipe for disaster. I quite like this Brentford side with Keith Andrews though, great manager, i think he really gets the most out of this squad. Huge fan of Mamadou Sangare before his transfer and he fits perfectly into this team, getting contributions to goals helps too of course. Usually a defcon machine for Lens but he didnt get toooo many this game. Game wasn’t particularly close, Brentford dominated in nearly every stat except possession, creating at least 6 big chances and over 3 xG. Sure maybe Spurs need time, but i am quite shocked by their display today, awful performance. Ill give Mamadou Sangare man of the match because he was brilliant and im slightly biased. Lastly, I feel very happy for De Zerbi because that rape apologist doesn’t deserve to experience joy.
NAC Breda3 - 2Jong Ajax

Yet again more of the same, just defending is so bad 😭 NAC was also shocking at times though, especially with the 2nd Ajax goal.

Jong Ajax
Fortuna Sittard0 - 2AZ Alkmaar

5th minute red card ruined the whole game. Fortuna aint ever beating the allegations that theyre the dutch getafe. Fortuna had some chances but it was mostly AZ who did take a while to score their first. Good game for Hornkamp coming off the bench.

AZ Alkmaar
Ipswich2 - 1Sunderland

Mostly watched on background while watching Leeds, huge win for Ipswich though. Honestly wouldn’t have thought two promoted teams would grab 3 points this weekend, so they already proved me wrong. Poor game from Brobbey unfortunately too.

Ipswich
Nott'm Forest0 - 1Leeds

Horrid game with a couple exciting moments, but a late Stach winner saved it at least. Horrible goalkeeping though. Leeds looked good, their pressing was great but just a good performance in general. Nottingham will definitely need time to adjust still with yet another new manager.

Leeds
Hull City2 - 0Man United

Not quite the tactical masterclass from Hull, but who cares when it works lmao. Theyre just very physical, you could say they scored from set pieces but you dont get those set pieces by sitting back. Hull just seemed to want it more. Especially that first half there was very poor defending from Man United. Luke Shaw in 2026 is mental, hes not good enough at all. The back 4 being completed by Heaven who sure has potential, but right now nowhere close to Premier League quality, Maguire, and Mazraoui, who famously isnt the best on the defensive side of things. With that defense you NEED a physical defensive mid to support the defense but instead they have Andrey Santos and Tielemans, that doesn’t help. Offensively they haven’t brought enough either, chances here and there but pumping crosses with Cunha as striker is idiotic. I am not sure why Zirkzee didn’t play, i think a player like him would be great against this Hull. More physical and also good in tighter spaces which is useful with their back 5. Can also just keep the ball with his back to the goal to pass to Cunha/Mbeumo. Thats what i would do at least, especially after seeing how poor it was in the first half. Also the first time Hull beat Man United, in their 12th fixture. Really an incredible result for Hull, but horrid from Man United. Man of the match gotta go to either Semi Ajayi or Nobel Mendy. Not only did they both get a goal but also were incredible in defense, but ill give it to Mendy.
Leon2 - 0Monterrey

How did Monterrey not score here 😭😭😭😭 actually insane with all their chances and a while against 10 men as well. @olivia please update predictions for my delicious perfect prediction of 2-0 😋

Leon
Al-Qadisiyah0 - 1Al-Ittihad

Only watched first half and Al-Qadisiyah was just better tbh, doesn’t seem i missed too much the second half though lmao.

Al-Ittihad
Vitesse0 - 3Almere City

Watched the first half with 0-0 only for second half to be a massacre 😭😭😭

Almere City
Betis1 - 0Real Sociedad

I do wanna have longer reviews for Betis this season, but with Arsenal at the same time now it’s slightly harder lmao. Pretty insane first game of the season though. A rather mediocre first half, no one was really better, though there were some chances here and there. You notice when Isco isnt playing for Betis, because they play much much better with him on the pitch. He just makes everyone better. What a fucking goal though for the 1-0, lovely lofted pass by Cucho and a great volley from Rodrigo Riquelme. Right after that a huge chance for 2-0 after a beautiful play too but good save from the goalie. Betis were much better in the second half, also a really great atmosphere at La Cartuja. Not a very convincing win, but beating La Real first game of the season is good nonetheless. Isco was a joy to watch too when he came on, one of my favorite players honestly. Man of the match either Fornals or Riquelme, but the latter will get it for the lovely goal.
Arsenal3 - 0Coventry

First half for Arsenal was just great, Coventry had absolutely nothing on them. Milan van Ewijk (bless his soul) with a huge mistake which led to the first goal. The 2-0 was mostly a shocker from Rushworth, shouldve had that. Not very surprising that after a very quick 3-0 in the second half that Arsenal would take it easy and just stay in control. I think this is the real strength of Arsenal at the moment, their offensive output is great, but if they need to they can just control the game without wasting unnecessary energy. For Coventry this was an awful way to start the season, i already didnt have much hope for them, but if they dont improve soon then they are guaranteed to go down. Pretty much 3 mistakes that all led to goals, pretty lucky Arsenal kept it at that. Tzolis is obviously great, i dont really wanna talk too much about him because everyone who followed him at Club Brugge knew he would be incredible, i know this sounds elitist and thats because i am being elitist. But he wins most duels, wins multiple free kicks, while also creating most chances. Also 6 defcon, love myself a winger that defends, this is very showing in his heatmap too. Now i still ended up talking too much about him lmao. Despite that i think for me the man of the match is Ødegaard, he honestly had a perfect game, getting a goal as well. He is just so damn good, i love this Arsenal midfield with Rice as well. Happy Premier League (and Serie A) is back this weekend, probably my favorite league for tactics at least, so should be fun with more long reviews again 🥳.
Al Riyadh0 - 4Al-Nassr

Al Nassr couldve scored way more than this, so a 0-4 is rather disappointing from their perspective. Lovely goal from Joao Felix though.

Al-Nassr
Corinthians1 - 0Rosario Central

Quite a bad game, like very very very bad. Buuuuuuuuut Memphis assist 🥳. I was blamed for the poor form of Corinthians so surely i will now also be praised for him signing again and being important, right? Id hope so at least.

Corinthians
LDU de Quito0 - 0Mirassol

Rather regret watching this but at least the penalty shootout was fun, i guess. Kind of surprised Mirassol is out but theyre also just horrifyingly bad in Brasileirao.

LDU de Quito
Olimpia1 - 4Vasco DA Gama

Couldve been a lot closer if Olimpia didnt miss some big chances. Vasco da gama was just better though so its deserved imo, lot more clinical too. Thiago Mendes played well too, fun to see him again after his Lille / Lyon days.

Vasco DA Gama
Benfica3 - 1Aarhus

Prestianni already pisses me off when i see his face, rather punchable. Important win for Benfica, expected some more goals but Aarhus their goalie also just had 9 saves so like fair lmao.

Aarhus
Rayo Vallecano1 - 1Alaves

Glad i saw a majority on the background while watching Ajax because this was rather bad. At least a fun ending with a bit of fighting but thats about it lmao.

Rayo Vallecano
Sion2 - 4Ajax

Long review without depression, huge. Reckon this game showed our desperate need for two wingers, and a defensive mid but like duh thats obvious. With Gloukh and Berghuis we needed our wingbacks to make runs, usually Henrique, as our rightback sits in the back 3 in possession. Pushing Gloukh into those left half spaces and making Brandt a proper 10. But Gaaei is not the defending type meaning he pushes too far leaving us with just 3 players in defense. Which is how Sion scored the 1-0. In the second half it got somewhat better as Henrique recognized when to stay back if Gaaei went too far down his own flank. Definitely got better around the 60th minute with Wijndal, Ouazane and Rosa on. Much more balanced and how we played in pre season too. Tolu was important yet again with a good header, that cross came from a good play of Wijndal and Ouazane so that immediately proved its usefulness. With Rosa you also have a much more defensive rightback who stays in the back 3. Anyway that was the tactic talk for today. Glad Don Leo scored, he probably shouldve scored more but i believe in him, he needs confidence. Tolu is incredibly important with his height and strength, no idea why Wolves were so happy to let him go, maybe they shouldve used him in his strengths instead of kicking him out after a year of them playing defensive as fuck with some of the worst football ive ever seen in the premier league??? Brandt is just brilliant, its just pure quality, you see in every pass that hes better than anyone else on our team. We struggled so much again but it just comes down to our squad not being balanced enough so we need those signings still. I do like that Michel Sanchez experiments with other wingers/wingbacks, even if it didnt work that well today. Got the win at least, no game this weekend so a week rest for the 2nd leg at home. No squadlist for this game so cant put Brandt or Tolu as man of the match but id give it to Brandt, he was incredible.
Santa Fe0 - 0River Plate

Poor game, few shots but nothing crazy. Santa Fe was probably slightly better but honestly both teams werent good. 0-0 is quite a reasonable result considering all that unfortunately.

Santa Fe
Flamengo2 - 1Cruzeiro

One more perfect prediction, rather lovely. Very poor first half from Cruzeiro, mostly fixed all of that the second half but it wasnt enough to overcome Flamengo. Some bangers this game though, quite a fun watch.

Flamengo
