New York City0 - 1New York Red Bullsalright this match was just a rollercoaster honestly, there were three yellow cards before anyone even scored 😭 all of them were just slipping and sliding around. very nice but frustrating performance from both teams, but sadly SO MANY opportunities for both teams to score were lost
New York Red BullsLeeds4 - 1Newcastle
Really impressed with Leeds, this change in system from Daniel Farke has been a revolution for them. Questioned him when he's been in the Premier League with Norwich, but there was always something there with his ideas, he just had to tweak it, which he's now got absolutely spot on. It's way too early to say if they'd be near the top, anything can happen in football, but if they keep playing like this why not? Brighton, Brentford, Bournemouth, Villa, Newcastle, Palace and Sunderland have all broke the system of usual European competitors, so why can't Leeds? Huge credit to Farke, he's given all of those players a way they can all make an impact. The comeback of Dominic Calvert-Lewin is astonishing too, everyone wrote him off, but Daniel Farke gave him a chance and has rewarded his faith spectacularly. Well done Leeds. Newcastle were stumped all night, it wasn't just a tactical mismatch, the energy from the Leeds players compared to those in a Toon shirt was second to none. A big off night for them. This can happen though, with losing key squad leaders it can be hard to get a grip of a game, we've seen it at Villa so far and it unfortunately happened tonight for Matthias Jaissle's team. However, it's not all doom and gloom. Blips can happen but that doesn't mean they'll be going into a downfall just from this. Admittedly, I was shocked with their good start, I was thinking it would've been extremely similar to Villa where they lose their first couple but grow into the season. Fair play to Jaissle for getting them going off the block. MOTM is Bogle, he was absolutely everywhere, safe to say DCL wasn't happy with his stolen goal though! 😂

I fully expected Brighton to win this

Ipswich0 - 2Liverpool
Liverpool were much better than the last 2 games, they actually took control of the game by the scruff of the neck. And when they were threatened, they were absolutely terrific in defence, all the basics and more were executed very well. I thought they could've had a lot more if they were on peak form. Isak finally bagging some goals, I don't think it's fully his fault that he wasn't performing in the first place. A nasty, untimely injury ruining all his momentum when he originally came in. Gakpo will be wondering why Liverpool were even considering selling him in the first place. Last week I mentioned he could've been sold, which was true, but I also said he has been far from the level Liverpool expect. However, if he keeps on putting in performances like this, he surely cements his spot in the team. Ipswich tried but it wasn't enough. A theme that I believe will continue to haunt them all season. Enciso and Palacios looked tidy, but everyone else just isn't a Premier League standard player I believe. You can still stay up with low quality standards, if you have a good manager. But I don't think they have that in Gary O'Neil. I don't see him staying for the whole season, if so, it will be interesting to see who they turn to if they do eventually sack him. Perhaps Kieran McKenna? MOTM is Gakpo, although Isak scored a brace, he was involved in many good things for Liverpool tonight. Great assist for the first too!

Genuinely no fucking clue why Messi willingly hangs out with a bunch of nobodies who cant do the simplest of things. Theyre so bad 😭😭😭
Toronto FCInter Miami1 - 2TorontoSt. Clair was literally the best keeper in the MLS last season. He joins Miami and all of a sudden he’s far from it. 😭😭😭😭
Toronto FCNott'm Forest0 - 1LeedsNothing much to say tbh. Anton Stach goal though 👀
LeedsNott'm Forest0 - 1LeedsHorrid game with a couple exciting moments, but a late Stach winner saved it at least. Horrible goalkeeping though. Leeds looked good, their pressing was great but just a good performance in general. Nottingham will definitely need time to adjust still with yet another new manager.
LeedsNott'm Forest0 - 1LeedsBoring game but at least we got a late goal, wish it helped my prediction points though 😭 Huge mistake by Sels with his positioning but Stach is a thundertwat machine.
LeedsCeltic3 - 0Lask LinzCeltic trying to do a goal of the season tournament already 😭 Some absolute belters. Celtic didn't even have to play to their best, but they were solid. LASK clearly missed the Senegalese Beckenbauer, Kéba Cisse, who was their POTS last season. Glad he's ours 😉 Duran was great with 2 goals so he gets MOTM, shoutout to former Villan, Sinisalo though, though he was excellent.

Wolves2 - 2Blackburn
Competitive game, thought Blackburn played very well and surprised people. Had them playoff chasers myself. Wolves will still have a strong season despite the setback tonight. They just need to settle down after such a poor season, their players have too much quality to be anything but top 3. Highlight of the match goes to my prophetic comment though, I felt it minutes before the penalty.
