I’ll start off with the attack. 2 weeks ago a little birdie told me Yamal was washed. Only thing he hasn’t washed is his balls (via madridzone). Yamal makes a statement in every match and not once have I seen this boy play and think to myself “oh yeah he don’t got it no more”. Yamal has become so fucking good where people decided he needs to reach every expectation on their agenda. Ferminator and Princess Diana are going to be our new duo this season. The intensity they play with shows the fire of this team. And lastly Raphinha, while not being too clinical today, it doesn’t matter. Raphinha is the heart and presence of this team. He doesn’t need to perform amazingly every game, his presence is enough to lead that attack and to keep pushing. Then there’s the midfield, Pedri Rodri Pedri Rodri. The engineers of Barcelona, deciding whether to slow our flow and gather up, or to go fast and create chances out of nothing. I’m not lying when I say I saw Busquets on that field, but scrubbed my eyes and realized it was Rodri. I could go on but I need to talk about the defense. Xavi, Cubarsi, Gerard, and Kounde (technically). While a few mishaps here and there, there’s no denying that this defense is still solid at the end of the day. As much as the high line can bend us over and spank us, it gives players like Xavi and Cubarsi to make insane passes. My only main concern is Kounde and Gerard. Even tho they’re backups, they still make clunky mistakes which forces Garcia to go off his line and save their asses. Speaking of Garcia 🤤🤤🤤where do I begin with my sexy, beautiful, sweet, sexual, amazing, spectacular, and elegant goalie. Joan Garcia has begun mastering Neuer’s technique and sweeping the ball, a ballsy but most needed skill for a team like Barca. This team can truly overpass our 24/25 season, and I’m excited.

I think a lot of people (including me) went into this World Cup final thinking it’ll top the 2022 final. I was thinking of a 3-2 or 2-1, hell even 1-1 would’ve been better. But a 1-0 World Cup final is flavorless. Argentina came into this final without a plan, every player on that pitch wearing white and blue looked clueless. Even Messi was off despite having one of the greatest World Cup campaigns. It’s such a shame this final was so anti-climactic. Because the story was so well made, the greatest of all time versus the greatest of today. And then we wait 114 minutes for a goal by Ferran. I’m not trying to take away the performance Spain made, they showed from the start of this tournament that this was their World Cup. I just wish Argentina had the same passion and blood for this final.

Lamine was a little-off in this match but I don’t need to worry. That high line though has to change at some point but I don’t see Flick changing it anytime soon. Overall this match was cinema but only in the 2nd half, that first half was dry.
