I think a lot of people (including me) went into this World Cup final thinking it’ll top the 2022 final. I was thinking of a 3-2 or 2-1, hell even 1-1 would’ve been better. But a 1-0 World Cup final is flavorless. Argentina came into this final without a plan, every player on that pitch wearing white and blue looked clueless. Even Messi was off despite having one of the greatest World Cup campaigns. It’s such a shame this final was so anti-climactic. Because the story was so well made, the greatest of all time versus the greatest of today. And then we wait 114 minutes for a goal by Ferran. I’m not trying to take away the performance Spain made, they showed from the start of this tournament that this was their World Cup. I just wish Argentina had the same passion and blood for this final.

Finally, Raphinha 24/25 is back, this could be his season again. Barcelona can go again for the Laliga title and make it a treble of winning the league. Lamine was a little-off in this match but I don’t need to worry. That high line though has to change at some point but I don’t see Flick changing it anytime soon. Overall this match was cinema but only in the 2nd half, that first half was dry.
