It was an alright game, not much to say. All of Belgium was great, can’t say the same about USA apart from Tillman, he’s a fantastic player and was the only decent American today.

Portugal0 - 1SpainAwful game but atleast Ronaldo is going home😂. Don’t have much to say, incredibly boring game but Spain dominated, as expected really. This Portugal team on paper is fantastic but they just really don’t play well together, Martinez really has to get sacked. Costa was probably the best throughout the match but motm will go to Merino for his winner, I just felt it coming when he came off the bench.

Mexico2 - 3EnglandWhat. A. Game. One of the best World Cup matches of all time, by far the best of this tournament so far and I don’t see anything beating it. Constant action throughout the whole 102 minutes in an insanely intense atmosphere with excellent yet feisty football being played. One of the best England performances ever, everyone put a shift in and put blood, sweat and tears into it. Pickford huge once again, Gordon was fantastic, Bellingham’s 2 goals providing the difference, Konsa and then Spence and Stones off the bench defending with their lives. Despite losing however, Mexico were still fantastic. They become a different beast in the Azteca, all their players thrive in there and you could see that. That midfield dictated well and their attack provided constant pressure, but they just weren’t able to break through enough. Well worth staying up until 4am for this (Also wanted to say referee was class. He managed the fiery atmosphere very well, and except for the Mexico penalty, he got almost every decision correct)

Brazil1 - 2NorwayGood match and great performance from the Norwegians but wow what an embarrassment again for the Brazilians. The richest footballing country with many world class players and a world class manager were toothless and completely outplayed by a team who just fought harder. I know Haaland scored twice, but motm has to be given to Nyland who completely saved Norway, especially with that penalty save.

Paraguay0 - 1FranceWhat a disgusting match. All respect gone for Paraguay after that, extremely dirty and horrible after such a sound performance against Germany is unfortunate to watch. Awful refereeing also, worst of the tournament I couldn’t believe all the stuff he was letting go. France going through is boring but deserved after that. Doue was the difference maker when he came on but the rest of the team were quite poor and couldn’t break the Paraguayan defence, Gil denied them quite well though.
Canada0 - 3MoroccoWow Canada suck. So many chances missed, especially in that first half, they really could’ve done more. Morocco weren’t even anything special, they were just able to capitalise on bad defending and win again. Bouaddi would’ve been motm if he kept playing because he was very good, then it would’ve been Bono because he made some big crucial saves, but now it’s Ounahi because of his 2 goals. Just quite a boring game I don’t have much to say, also doesn’t help that my 2-0 prediction ended last second.

Holy shit what the fuck just happened. As an Argentinian I can give a review that others won’t be able to, and oh my god this was so stressful. I was scared going into this match but I thought we would be able to pull through comfortably… but boy was I wrong. First half was boring but we dominated and Messi’s goal for the 8th World Cup game in a row made it look like we were going to get our easy win, but a second half goal out of nowhere turned the tides. That goal really made me realise the problems with this team. I had been seeing it in the group but I thought that would change in the knockouts, but we are relying way to heavily on Leo. The rest of this team is extremely sluggish and the midfield moves the ball so slowly. Mac and Enzo are very poor and Lautaro, Almada and Gonzalez are absolutely abysmal in attack. They haven’t been stepping up at all, and in a game where Messi was being contained their weaknesses are really showing. But thankfully Lisandro scored a banger in extra time to surely allow us to settle for the win, but then the goal of the tournament just got launched in out of fucking nowhere and we were in panic mode again. But alas an unfortunate own goal from a Messi corner proved to be the winner and an intense game that nobody saw coming.Gott I feel really bad for Cape Verde and I’m very sad we had to face them because they could have gone far if they played almost anybody else, but hey this is football. Their structure is so solid I really am shocked at how good they are, Vozinha absolutely insane this match aswell. We were very very sloppy today and only two players performed very well: Licha and Dibu. Dibu once again proving to be one of the best keepers in the world with his vital saves, and wow what a game Lisandro had. Most will give Vozinha the motm for the sympathy but realistically Lisandro was the best player on the pitch and came out on the winning side. But yea, long review, I hope we fix our problems for Egypt and later games!

Australia1 - 1EgyptVery boring match with Australia playing super defensively like always. Souttar put a great shift in the whole game and would’ve been motm if he didn’t sky his penalty. Matt Ryan subbed on for pens ended up being completely useless and for some reason they made a 19 year old centre back take one too, ludicrous decision making from the Aussies. But I don’t really care, either team is an easy win for Argentina next round😝 Also I predicted 1-1 so happy days!

Wow wtf happened in that second half. First half was boring but that second half absolutely exploded, so many chances and near moments and goals and omg. That last goal would’ve been absolute scenes it’s unfortunate it got disallowed. Ronaldo still had a stinker idc.

Pretty boring match despite the fact that there could have been way more than 3 goals Austria were very poor - i can’t even recall a single shot on target from them - so Spain were very casual and just walked in 3 goals. The first half was alright with Laimer getting skinned by Yamal and Schlager making some good saves, but eventually the Spaniards prevailed with Oyarzabal scoring two and my goat Porro scoring the other. Fuck Oyarzabal for getting the last one tho, my 2-0 prediction was so close to perfect.

Incredibly boring match. Couldn’t even bring myself to watch it much, Bosnia were shockingly bad and USA were just as dominant as always. Belgium next for USA but no Balogun could mean big trouble. That whole USA midfield are absolute workhorses but Tillman was the best today, especially with his goal.

Genuinely wtf just happened. Senegal were completely dominant, Belgium looked in a shambles, and then they scored 2 goals in 3 minutes to turn the game around. Game went 10 minutes overboard after Tielemans last minute penalty, these guys have won 3-2 after being 2-0 in World Cup knockouts twice wtf. Also basically predicted it, I said Belgium would scam a win and they literally did just that, I just said 2-1 instead of 3-2.

Very entertaining game. Really looked like Congo would hold onto their early strike, but that man Harry Kane saves England to carry on his charge for the Ballon D’or. Gordon was great when he came on, evident with his two assists, Rice also had a great game with his RB shift because Tuchaliban refused to bring Trent. But either way England are through to a tricky game against Mexico at the Azteca. It’s unfortunate for DR Congo they played very well with their keeper making many big saves, he would have been motm if they ended up winning.
