One thing you can't take away from Tottenham, they're consistent from one season to another 😂 What a hatewatch. Spurs spent a small country's GDP this summer just to get slapped 3-0 by Brentford on MW1 😭 Brentford were brilliant though. Their 1-2s, rotations and movement had Spurs completely lost at times. You can tell this is a team that knows each other, while Spurs looked like 11 blokes who met in the car park. Sangaré was everywhere on his debut, Lewis-Potter was excellent and Brentford defended as a proper collective. Tonali's £100m debut wasn't exactly convincing either. Bloke sent one first-time volley into the North Sea 😂 De Zerbi's high line got absolutely worked by Brentford's movement and I genuinely can't find a positive for Spurs. The Thomas Frank Derby™ featuring absolutely no Thomas Frank belongs to Brentford 🐝

The Championship might've sent us another problem 👀🚜 Massive 3 points for newly promoted Ipswich and they definitely didn't look out of place. Enciso played like an absolute madman with a point to prove, while Emersonn brought the Brazilian flair 🇧🇷 First ever Brazilian to play for Ipswich and gets himself a goal. Ángulo's free kick though… TOP 🎯 The dip and curl off the bar from that range was ridiculous. Meanwhile my FPL investment in Ballard is going well 😭 O'Nien made the initial mistake, but Ballard diving in and getting done by Enciso certainly didn't help. Then OF COURSE former Sunderland man Jack Clarke scores the winner and his first ever PL goal 😂 Football really does love a script.

MAULED BY THE TIGERS 🐯😂 Couldn't have asked for a better hate watch. Newly promoted Hull beating Man United 2-0 at home? Cinema 🍿 McBurnie and Belloumi were fantastic. McBurnie was an absolute handful up top and battled for everything, while Belloumi looked dangerous every time he got involved. Those 2 gave United problems all game and were easily my standouts. United had plenty of the ball but honestly didn't do much with it. For all the money and supposed quality in that team, Hull never really looked scared of them. Going 2-0 up before HT through Ajayi and Mendy just made the hate watch even sweeter 😂 Loved seeing Lucas Herrington get his Premier League debut too 🇦🇺👏 Only 18 and already getting minutes at this level. Definitely one I'll be keeping an eye on. Hull back in the Premier League after 9 years and they've already beaten United. Their first league win against them since 1974 as well. Could not have scripted it any better. Mauled by the fucking Tigers 🐯😂

🏆 Arsenal 3-0 Coventry Perfect way to start the title defence. Comfortable from pretty much start to finish and probably should've been more than 3. Tzolis continues to impress me every time I watch him. He just looks dangerous whenever he gets involved and always seems like he's going to create something. Really liking what he adds to this Arsenal attack. 🔥 Havertz took his goal really well and Saka doing Saka things again. ⚽️ Ødegaard getting on the scoresheet was good to see as well. When those two on the right start combining and Ben White gets involved, it feels like the old Arsenal combinations are coming back. Coventry had a few moments early on but once Arsenal settled into the game, the difference in quality was pretty obvious. I also thought MLS looked comfortable in midfield and Rice was solid as always. Still think there's another level in this team though. We had enough chances and possession to make this 4 or 5, and against better opposition we'll need to be more ruthless. But you really can't complain about a 3-0 win, clean sheet and three points on opening night. After finally getting over the line last season, it was important that we started the title defence looking like champions rather than looking like a team feeling the pressure of being champions. Good start. Onto the next. 🔴⚪️🏆

🏆 ARSENAL 3–0 MAN CITY — COMMUNITY SHIELD What a way to start the season. 🔴⚪️ 23 seconds. That’s all it took. Calafiori flying forward and putting Arsenal ahead almost immediately completely set the tone for the afternoon. ⚡️ From there Arsenal just looked sharper, hungrier and much more settled. City had spells with the ball, but rarely looked like they were actually going to hurt us. Haaland was kept extremely quiet and defensively we looked composed whenever City tried to build momentum. 🧱 Tzolis continues to look like an unbelievable piece of business. Two assists and once again there’s just always a feeling that something is going to happen when he gets involved. His final product has been seriously impressive. 🇬🇷✨ Havertz leading the line and getting his goal was great to see too. He gives us something completely different up front and his movement caused City problems all game. 🎯 But Ødegaard… THIS is the Ødegaard Arsenal have been missing. 🎩🇳🇴 He looked sharp, confident and influential again, then capped it off with the third goal. If he can carry this form into the season, it changes the level of this team. MLS deserves a mention too. So comfortable receiving the ball under pressure and playing through City. The midfield depth Arsenal have now is honestly ridiculous. 🤯 Yes, it’s the Community Shield, but beating Manchester City 3–0 is never meaningless — especially with Arsenal still having Rice, Saka, Gyökeres, Eze and Zubimendi available from the bench. Premier League champions. Community Shield winners. 🏆 The scary part? This team still feels like it has another gear. 🔴⚪️ COYG

⚪️⚫️ Juventus 2–0 Palermo A decent performance from Juve and plenty to be positive about. Created a heap of chances across the 90 and probably should’ve won by a few more. The football looked sharp in patches and you can definitely see things starting to come together ahead of the new season. 👀 ⭐️ Yıldız looked much sharper tonight. Constantly involved, dangerous around the box and deserved his goal. Starting to look like himself again. 🎯 Kolo Muani, on the other hand, definitely didn’t bring his shooting boots to Perth. Had opportunities but just couldn’t put one away… must’ve left them behind in the 2022 World Cup final. 😭🇫🇷 ⚽️ Good to see Milik get on the scoresheet as well. Overall, a promising 90 minutes from Juventus. Plenty still to improve on, particularly the finishing, but the chances are being created and the football is heading in the right direction. ⚪️⚫️

🏟️ Arsenal 2–3 Borussia Dortmund Not the Emirates homecoming we wanted as Champions of England. 🔴⚪️ Conceding so early really set Arsenal back and Dortmund punished us again on the counter. Going 2–0 down made it an uphill battle, but I liked the response. Nwaneri pulling one back and Gyökeres making it 3–2 gave us a genuine chance to get something from the game. Gyökeres continues to impress me with his work rate. 💪 He works harder than any striker we’ve had at Arsenal for a long time — constantly running the channels, pressing and making himself available. Even when everything doesn’t come off, he never stops. Tzolis has been incredible so far. 🌟 Every time he gets involved you feel like there’s going to be an end product. An assist for Nwaneri and then winning the penalty for Gyökeres today. He looks dangerous. Really good seeing Ben White back too. 🔙 Looked sharp going forward and his overlapping runs gave us another dimension down the right. Mosquera had some good moments, but you can definitely see the difference when Saliba isn’t there. He just doesn’t give me that same feeling of reliability at the back yet. MLS uses his body extremely well in midfield, especially for his age, but I’d like to see him learn to ride challenges more instead of going down when he can potentially stay on his feet and keep the move alive. Nwaneri continues to look promising and took his goal really well. ⭐️ A 3–2 loss is never ideal, especially back at the Emirates, but seeing Arsenal fight their way back into it after such a poor start was encouraging. The Champions of England are back home. 🏆🔴

🇮🇹⚽ Had to catch the clash between two giants of Italian football. The first half was a bit of a drag, but the second half absolutely flew by with some really good passages of play. Juventus had plenty of possession early in the second half, but never really looked threatening with it. Inter were by far the better side for me. ⚫🔵 I was expecting a little more from Yildiz, but Diouf was easily my standout player of the game ⭐️ Looked in great form and was causing the Bianconeri problems all night. Overall, a slow burner that turned into a really enjoyable watch. 👏

This is the first WC final that I can actually remember. '98 was too early for me to remember exactly but this match was an absolute classic
