Ignoring the obvious handball aside very comfortable for United today I wonder how the game would’ve panned out if United had that goal ruled out but nonetheless games are won by quality and fuck me Bruno showed today why he is the PFA player of the year

Only saw the last 10 minutes but what a goal from Pablo 🥶😮💨 and gotta say Valencia had many chances to level it but for those 10 minutes what a game happy to see Troy parrot make his debut too some of his hold play was really good tonight and there was a moment where he got back and blocked a shot bit disappointed Tottenham never looked at resigning him ☹️

Elche0 - 5BarcelonaRaphinha balon Dor 2027 we will be there 😮💨😮💨 Very good first half to watch very end to end with Barca capitalising the most from Elche’s mistakes but what a player Raphinha is man 🥶 but personally thought Barca were lucky to not concede in that first half. Second half was more of the same but Barca took control very quickly and were so dominant and fun to watch oh my days Raphinha what a player man, Gordon too getting 2 assists in 5 minutes then Fermin with 2 goals too a VERY good performance from Barca no cobwebs from them at all straight up to speed quick word on Espart too thought he fitted in brilliantly tonight will be investing in his stocks this season and seeing if he can break into that Barca team a entertaining game to watch for sure probably best match of the weekend for me
Barcelona
Torino1 - 2MilanI shall be investing in Amorim and Cisse stocks this season First half was pretty straight forward Torino spent most of the first half defending and hitting on the counter causing AC Milan some small problems at times but nothing major I was particularly impressed by Macardi in the first half made some decent saves and was very commanding in his box meanwhile for AC Milan Cisse looked very bright the only thing that was letting him down was his final product but Ramos looked decent too with good hold play at times but in all honest a fairly average watch in the first half But the second half the game came alive and was a much better watch Torino came out to play a little bit more the match started to get very end to end and then Amorim makes his subs and the game flips back to AC Milan’s favour with Cisse scoring who looks like a very very good player and will be watching closely this season and then the AC Milan just continued to dominate the game and then Che Adams of all people scores a worldie 💀💀
MilanNewcastle2 - 2LiverpoolBest game of the weekend so far imo some promising signs for both teams but heartbreak for Newcastle and Lewis Hall other than what this fixture continues to throw up top entertainment Liverpool starting this season as they started last with last minute goals. Very very promising from Newcastle wissa 100% his best game as a Newcastle player and Elanga equally as good tonight the new debutants as well Dedic, Steur and Hornieck all put in solid performances as well as Lewis hall but just that moment at the end cost his team the 3 points. Liverpool good at some points but really lacklustre at others their best attacker today seems like he’s set to leave what a goal from Gakpo and should’ve had a second today as well but wirtz still continues to look lost when playing Szobozlai top playurrrrrrr easily Liverpools best player for the last 2 seasons VVD looks half the player he was 2/3 years ago I think next summer could see Liverpool looking towards replacing him but not an awful start for either team good game fun to watch

Hull City2 - 0Man UnitedWhat an introduction to the premier league from Hull making Manchester United look like the team that have been promoted. What a first half from Hull City forcing Lammens into 3 early good saves with the 3rd unfortunately being spilled into the path of Ajayi who smashed the ball into the net to give hull the deserved lead. Before this game started I had a feeling that United are gonna slug through this game and I think I was proved right i am very curious to see how Carrick’s men react to the magnitude of how many games they’re gonna play this season but more on the performance in the first half United just struggled to deal with Hull’s speed on the counter and struggled even more so with Hull’s crosses into the box and were so sloppy committing so many fouls which led to the second goal to top off an incredible first 45 minutes from Hull and a disastrous 45 minutes from United. In the second half the game just mellowed out with United not really coming out any better another talking point going into this game was the midfield and in my opinion it looks really flat and really timid but it is only the first game of the season and they’re only just starting out as a partnership Santos and Tielemans so it’ll be interesting to see what’s to come. But to top off a perfect first half Hull’s defending was solid, Ajayi and Mendy both superb today and I feel for Mendy going off with an injury hopefully it’s not anything serious but even with the subs coming on Hull still stayed solid to get the deserved 3 points. I think if United want to be in the title race this season they’re gonna have to get much much better today was simply not good enough for a team of that level there was no fight or desire to win the ball back just completely flat performance compared to Hull who were so fired up thanks to the crowd and the occasion if hull can manage to keep these levels throughout the season I think they will be safe!
Hull CityArsenal3 - 0Coventry
Welcome to the premier league Coventry city, a harsh reality opener for them Arsenal showing up exactly as what they are, the champions, tzolis looks like a very good signing and on top of that the entire Arsenal front line looked on fire tonight with Saka looking back to his best however one thing that remains with arsenal successful and not successful at times is the constant diving and going down at a feather of a touch just so annoying as a neutral to watch but every game has a little bit of that have to say as well at times Gabriel looked a bit shaky getting tight when there was no need too and getting shielded from the ball pretty easily and got caught out and received a yellow card for it. But for Coventry they’re gonna have to shift into gear quickly with how unforgiving this league is with Carl Rushworth learning that tonight too, that back line looks particularly narrow and struggled tonight when Arsenal showed width in their play and struggled with not following runners into the box. However in the second half they definitely looked brighter wether that was Arsenal stepping off the gas a little bit or showing up a little more taiwo Awoniyi certainly looked bright when he came on especially his hold up play it’s hard to judge this Coventry team when this will arguably be their hardest game of the season definitely got a big game ahead of them next week. In terms of the match wasn’t anything special one sided from a VERY good Arsenal team dominate performance from the champions which made it a little bit boring to end it off for me very hard decision for man of the match Odegaard looked brilliant out there tonight making Arsenal tick but ultimately I have to give it to Tzolis what a performance I hate to say it but he could be signing of the season man of the match tonight for me didn’t once stop causing trouble for Van Ewijk tonight would’ve been a perfect performance had he got his goal deserved man of the match tonight also helps the fpl too 🙏🫡
Arsenal
Portsmouth1 - 2ReadingInteresting experience with this being my first ever away game honestly Fratton Park what an amazing stadium breeds proper English football and even better was being on the right side of the result thanks to big Kelvin who showed exactly how cool he is in front of goal but another thing I want to mention is that even tho he has left the club now Andre Garcia seems like he’s gonna have a very bright future ahead of him and I wish him all the best at Club Brugge!
ReadingTottenham1 - 0Man UnitedProbably the highest point ever as a Tottenham fan in my lifetime 17 years of disappointment overturned in one perfectly imperfect night from vicario fumbling the ball to Van De Ven’s goal line clearance a night where Romero easily showed why he is ( and still is ) one of the best CB’s on the planet leading the team on the night and easily my MOTM and Bissouma probably playing his best ever game in a Tottenham shirt 2 players who probably are leaving with not the greatest story in a Lilywhite shirt but for that night they couldn’t of been more incredible for the team a night I will never forget being able to watch it and celebrate with my uncle and grandad who are the reasons for me becoming a Tottenham fan easily my happiest memory ever for Tottenham and it will take some topping to overcome it 🤍🤍
TottenhamTottenham4 - 2Olympiakos Piraeus
First ever champions league game I attended and first ever time at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium and what an experience I can still remember to today how it felt coming out of those stairs into the bowl and how it gave me chills down the back of my neck honestly a beautiful stadium for a beautiful club it’s a shame how recent years have turnt out for both but the game itself Tottenham coming back from 2-0 down to winning 4-2 couldn’t of been a better first match to attend that Aurier first time volly I spent months trying to recreate this game will always have a special place in my heart and I am so grateful to have been able to have it as my first ever game at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium 🤍

What can I say sooooooo frustrating to watch in the first half Reading were the much much much better team and anyone would’ve thought the game was set and done but you can never be so certain with any football game these days and they threw it away, in one half one team didn’t show up at all and in the second half the other team didn’t come back out and paid the price for it but nonetheless Jack Marriot running out words to describe the guy since he joined Reading can only imagine what could’ve happened at the end of last season if he had been fit hopefully this season he can stay injury free and if he can he will 100% be in that golden boot race another player that was very impressive was Andy Rinomhota in the first half he was everywhere picking up loose balls and winning the ball back in the middle of the pitch other than that I can’t think of many others who can come out of that game with their heads held high 🫡 but still from a neutrals point of view surely has to be the match of the weekend
ReadingReading1 - 1Wycombe
Honestly not an awful game but crowds 100% make games more intense and more intriguing struggled to get into the speed of the game due to a limited crowd but in terms of the game was fairly end to end 2 heavily rotated teams as you normally get in the EFL trophy but lovely goal from Liam Fraser to level up the game and a very good performance from Jack Stevens keeping Reading in the game at times and saving 2 penalties in the shootout. Some very impressive performances from Emmanuel Osho definitely not afraid of taking his man on and also a decent performance from Ashqar Ahmed and Boyd Beacroft hopefully those mentioned can get some first team league minutes this season and hopefully get to see them next week against Stevenage in the EFL Cup overall a strangely interesting game which suffered from a lack of fans but some very good penalties from Reading at the end to gain an extra point.
