Best described as a game of two halves, both teams can expect to be up there at the end of the season and the quality in players, tactics and teams showed in this game. West Ham look really good, but mot even a game in have been stopped in their tracks on what looked to br a nailed in win. Hate to see Burnley succeed but they improved and grew into the game. A decent watch overall whilst redecorating the living room with my mam🤣🤣

Spanish football is like watching English football on crack. Good game overall, fun to watch and something to keep the football watching ticking. Penalties, red cards, goals, fights this game had almost everything. May not be a LaLiga ball knowledge goat but they have a lot of old and bald men and not much quality compared to prem. Also why does disney+ just end the stream at FT and show old game highlights at half time like where is the budget. No analysis, i am mad.

WOW!!! What a start to the season. Late winner to take three points at home in a manner that would have ended badly last season. Proper happy with that one. First half was shaky, boro couldn’t get hold of the ball and Lincoln wasted time and stopped momentum whenever possible. Adam Reach got his inevitable goal against us, but there was signs of positives, despite fan crashouts in the stadium. Second half was a different story, biro half control of possession a lot more and looked like scoring. Players built into the game and subs were fantastic. Willy Lankshear brace and three points is the perfect way to start and that winning goal hit like crack. UPTHEBORO🔴⚪️

Perfect start to the championship season. A team i expect to be at the top and another at the bottom battling it out on a friday night😍 Wolves still adjusting to the league, their manager probably adjusting to English football, they have quality but they need to improve in order to get what they want out of this season. Raul scoring was lovely to see, I wish it didn’t come that way but it’s okay i guess. Blackburn were great, a very unexpected performance but a proper masterclass in going for it and Tony Mowbray is an absolute gem to have in the championship. I think they were unlucky not to win tonight. Key points of the game: - Wolves may take time to adjust to the championship, still not to be written off. - Wolves fans are bipolar😭 - Blackburn still have quality, I think they will be fighting with relegation this season but a good start to the season could be a difference maker. - Handball? Yes! In the box? Unsure. - Wolves fans desperate to win😭 they actually manifested a penalty. A good match overall, glad to be back. Bring on 26/27!

Began to worry that this was a typical performance but it seems we’ve signed an actual striker in Lankshear who can actually score. Malanda was fantastic in his makeshift postion. Arfsten had a decent debut, needs some work whilst Berhalter is an absolute gem, likely down to him being here longer( his ability to put the ball in the box is fantastic). We set the tone for the season, can’t wait for the proper stuff to start next week! UTB

Spain: they played exactly how I predicted, their possession was superb and they didn’t allow Messi or Argentina on the ball. They kept their head and continued to try despite the hard way of the Argentinians. 100% deserved to win this tournament, congratulations Spain! Argentina: tbh Argentina embarrassed themselves today. Fouls all over the pitch, crying like babies and didn’t show up today. Messi wasn’t given the ball enough and I fear that may be the end of Argentina as we know it. Really did not like the way they handled themselves post game, i’m glad they lost. MOTM: Rodri was fantastic once again, did not stop running and controlled the game very well. Definitely Spains best player of the tournament and showed how world class he is, with maybe a better season for City he would be nailed on ballon d’or.

France4 - 6EnglandFrance: first half was absolutely abysmal, they were very poor in defence and allowed England to score 4 goals. The second half was much better, substitutions were great. The end of an era for the French. Didier is gone but with superstars like Mbappe and Olise will carry France on past this tournament. England: this game just made me feel angry. It shows we are a fantastic team, this tournament felt different and yet here we are at the third place game. Our attack was surprisingly good. Overall a successful tournament in my opinion, a semi-final and the best finish in the world cup since 1966, i’m excited for this generation of England. MOTM: it’s impossible to ignore a hattrick, Saka was great in this game. Makes you wonder why he couldn’t participate against Argentina. I’m glad to see Saka step up again for a penalty, especially to secure his hattrick after 2021. Despite my dislike for Arsenal, i will always root for Saka. Englands starboy.

A game that both teams grew into. The last 20 minutes were pure entertainment. Between one of the worst misses i’ve seen ina long time from Gunnarsson and a Vasteras handball followed by a Mjallby near miss, the drama was high also are long throws a thing in Sweden? Bkth teams opted to use them a lot. MOTM: Diagne impressed me, defensively solid and added something different in attack. Nearly scored a late goal from around the halfway line, very good performance.
VasterasEngland1 - 2ArgentinaTHIS IS A BIASED REVIEW 🚨 Argentina: honestly I don’t think they played very well until the subs came on, they played dirty and it worked. Compensated well on Englands defensive game plan and finally got the goals they needed. When they scored to equalise, you knew the winner would soon follow. England: started off well, controlled the possession and managed to stay level headed. The goal was great, good play and performed well. As soon as the goal went in the game changed. England defend vs Argentine attack. Unfortunately we sat back and took the attack too much, obviously it would break eventually. Just stupid tactically. MOTM: coming into the tournament I judged Tuchels decision to take Djed Spence, the guy proved me absolutely wrong. He played fantastic both in attack and defence. I think he deserves a lot of credit after this world cup, what a tournament for Spence.
EnglandFrance0 - 2SpainFrance: considering everyone and their mother expected a win they really disappointed. They looked disjointed and could not get going. It was a disappointing and deflating performance overall and despite a fantastic overall tournamentthey did not show up on the night and deservedly lost. Spain: Once again proved that a fantastic midfield can win you a game. They bossed the pitch, controlled the flow of the game and took chances that came their way. I was very impressed with their defensive play and the way they banded together. Proper Spanish football got them through. MOTM: Ruiz for me put in a huge shift in midfield, he was very solid and controlled the middle of the park, this could’ve gone to Rodri bht I felt Ruiz deserved credit for his huge performance today.

Norway1 - 2EnglandTHIS IS A BIASED REVIEW 🚨 Norway: tbh they held up well, defensively solid but (and i cannot believe i’m saying this) they lacked in attack. Haaland ghosted mostly although their main threat was in the air. They took England to the edge but just weren’t good enough on the day. England: defensively we remained structured, Konsa did a job out of position and they managed to keep Haaland silent. We were fantastic in our overall play, although at times we looked tired. The substitutes whilst confusing were almost perfect and once again everyone put in a proper shift. MOTM: who else but the man of the moment, Jude Bellingham. This guy is on his way to becoming one of the best England players of all time. He shows up whenever we need it, shows he can do everything from defence to attack and gives a class interview afterwards. Grateful that this guy is English, what a performance.
EnglandSpain2 - 1Belgium
Spain: Looked solid, attacked well and kept calm under pressure from Belgiums press. Finally tested defensively and showed they aren’t a brick wall but deserved to go through today. I hope someone nerfs Merino soon, i am sick of him being the match winner. Belgium: had a better tournament than many would expect, gave it a good go today but defensively looked a little weak for Spain. Sad to see multiple legends go today, especially KDB who has been ine of my favourite player’s of all time. Gave everything today and went out fighting. MOTM: once again Rodri proved to be a calm point in a very fluid team, he essentially controls Spains possession and is key to everytbing they do. There’s not much more to say, he is world class and continues to prove it on the world stage.

France: Took a while to get going and evolved into the game. I found the first half they lacked a bit of energy but the second half was much improved. They started to press high and with more intent, two beautiful goals got them the win, well done France. Morocco: Overall they defended well, Bounou once again performed well but they lacked sting. Their attack lacked a true striker and they had nowhere to go. They had a good run in the tournament and played well, i think on another day they could’ve beat France. MOTM: Doue stood out once again for me, his attacking play is sleek and skilful and makes for a fun watch. When the game lacks a potent attack Doue is the player who can open the game up. Very impressed with his overall WC so far!

Switzerland: They struggled a lot with Colombias offense but stayed hanging on and had chances of their own. I found both teamd to be very similar to each other to the point they cancelled each other out. Penalties were great, the goalkeeper was fantastic as usual. Colombia: My one to watch coming into the tournament, they really deserved more on the day. Their attack was potent and they looked intent on winning but penalties are unpredictable. They were unlucky not to go through today but they’ve had a good run this tournament. MOTM: Kobel played fantastic, kept Colombia at bay and at times kept Swizterland in the game, that save in the penalties practically won.the game for Switzerland, very well done!

Portugal0 - 1SpainPortugal: lacked energy and intent. I think the Nuno Mendes injury was a harsh blow. They didn’t challenge Spain enough and looked too scared to lose. The main story here is with Ronaldo. Man no one wanted his story to end like this, forever a goat. Spain: the reason this game wan’t so good was due to the similarities in the two teams. Spain also looked scared of losing here but quality helped them over the line. One player I dislike a lot is Mikel Merino for absolutely no reason so i’m quite disappointed. MOTM: I’m giving it to Rodri who bossed the midfield today, he controlled a lot of the game and didn’t stop the entire game. I don’t think anyone on the pitch today was overly fantastic but for me, Rodri was the one standout.

Mexico2 - 3EnglandTHIS IS A BIAS REVIEW🚨 Mexico: wow, a proper performance for the host nation. They really scared the life from me, they performed well and gave absolutely everything. They showed how good they can be , assisted by the azteca crowd. I don’t think i’ve ever seen anything like that before. England: tactically absolutely spot on, well done Tuchel. Adversity, madness, a different type of England tonight that showed a lot of personality tonight. If you weent dreaming you must be now. From defence to attack, the substitutes, everyone. Everyone made England proud tonight. What a performance. MOTM: Jude was different tonight. 2 goals in 2 minutes, a proper performance. He was everywhere. Defensively so so solid and he took his chances well when they came. He showed what a crucial big game player he is tonight. Disclaimer: that motm couldve genuinely gone to anyoneon the pitch, both Mexico and England. What a beautiful game!

Brazil1 - 2NorwayBrazil: another early exit from the world cup, they never really looked like scoring. Had a bad early penalty miss, didn’t look like they wanted it and were lazy at times, allowing Norway to pass through them with ease. I’ll be happy about this if it’s England through tonight. Norway: played unexpectedly well, passed well and bid their time until Brazil seemed weaker and tired. Keeper made some great saves and the tactics were spot on. Haaland does what he does best and helps Norway through, very well done. POTM: Nyland showed how crucial goalkeepers are in the tournament, made some fantastic saves that kept Norway in it. Saved a crucial penalty in the early parts of the game and impressed me a lot.

Paraguay0 - 1FranceFrance: patient, unyielding and beautifully played. Had to deal with a lot of adversity and found a sneaky way through. Shows that games like this happen to the best team and also shows the power of the bench, every player counts in football. Paraguay: snappy, defended aggressively, nearly killed half the French team. Idk how they didn’t receive a single yellow card. They didn’t deserve any win or draw today like they did against Germany, Not a good showing for Paraguay. POTM: Doue came onto the pitch and immediately caused issues for Paraguay, he offered something different and dared to run and give the Paraguayans something to think about. Surely he starts over Barcola in the next game.

Argentina: played okay, not their best game. Carried by Messi and a few others, subs looked weak. I really do not see a world they win this WC, they’ve lowkey been handed the easiest draw. Messi still got it fr Cape Verde: deserved more tbh, played well, defended wonderfully and scored 2 magical goals. They’ve pushed the World Champions to their limits and written themselves into WC folklore. POTM: Defended beautifully, took his chance and scored potentially the goal of the tournament. WHAT A GAME WOW 🤩

Man Senegal deserved this so much, Belgium the luckiest team itw. I do believe that was a penalty tbh but i can’t imagine the pain for the fans and players. Youri really had some nerve with that penalty, fair play. They’ll go out in the next round (hopefully).
