What a game! I made a genius decision to switch over from Bournemouth-Liverpool after the 2nd Sunderland goal. City not needing to rely on Haaland to score. Looking like very strong contenders for the title but they need to sure up the defence a bit. Sunderland could’ve had a few more today. Could’ve been 5-5 but not to be. Poor Brobbey scoring a hat trick and still losing. Chaotic game though, reminds me of when City beat Fulham 5-4 last season.

Brentford3 - 0ChelseaChocolate chip cookie recipe: Ingredients * 250g/9oz plain flour * ½ tsp baking powder * ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda * ½ tsp sea salt flakes, plus extra for sprinkling * 110g/3¾oz unsalted butter, diced and at room temperature * 110g/3¾oz light brown sugar * 110g/3¾oz caster sugar * 1 large free-range egg * ½ tsp vanilla extract * 250g/9oz chocolate Method 1. To make the cookie dough, whisk together the flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and salt in a large bowl. 2. Put the butter and sugars in a separate large bowl. Using an electric hand-held mixer, beat together for about 4–5 minutes until fluffy and light. Add the egg, beating until fully combined, then briefly mix in the vanilla. 3. Add the flour mixture and mix just until a dough is formed. Add the chocolate and mix until evenly distributed. 4. Chill the dough for 24–48 hours before baking. This process helps the flour to hydrate and makes for a better tasting cookie that is more likely to caramelise as it bakes. You can skip this process, but the dough will still need refrigerating for a few hours so that it can be rolled into balls and will bake without spreading too much. 5. Preheat the oven to 180C/160C Fan/Gas 4 and line two baking trays with baking paper. 6. Use your hands or an ice cream scoop to form balls of dough (about 60–70g/2¼–2½oz per cookie). Sprinkle with a little sea salt and place on the prepared baking trays, leaving 2.5–5cm/1–2in between each cookie. 7. Bake for about 16–18 minutes or until golden around the edges but still slightly pale in the middle. Leave to cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. 8. Enjoy!

First of all, a big thank you to @toni and @olivia for posting about this game to Twitter. More eyes on our little island’s football league is always a positive. Anyway, great win for Pats. They started with high intensity and were rewarded with the early goal for McClelland. Rovers started sluggish and never got going. 2nd to every ball and allowing Keena time to turn and shoot in the box was only ever going to have one outcome. Pats were defensively sound and limited Rovers to mostly half chances, but they didn’t have to work too hard to keep them out. Still, it was a brilliant defensive performance from captain Joe Redmond in particular, which is why he’s my man of the match. Pats slowed it down in the second half, which Rovers allowed them to do by still not applying too much pressure. Bohs won as well so there’s only 3 points between the top 3 with 6 games to go. Anyone’s title to win still!

Easy win for United, as expected. They didn’t get out of 2nd gear but they didn’t need to in truth. Sabah held out well for most of the first half but it was always just delaying the inevitable. Still, they can be proud of themselves. Despite the scoreline, they gave a good account of themselves. I hope they’re able to pick up a few points in this competition.

What a match! High intensity from the off and didn’t relent. Definitely lived up to the hype. Inter looked so dangerous on the attack, particularly in the first half but Courtois had a brilliant game in goal and Inter were the architects of their own downfall with 2 horrible mistakes that led to Real’s goals. That was such a Mourinho win. Less possession, less shots, less chances, less passes, less distance covered but more goals. Bisseck had an insane game in defence, more than making up for his early mistake (which, to be fair, was half Curtis Jones fault as well). A really entertaining game from 2 good teams who should go far this year. Edit: looking at the other reviews and ratings, I’m surprised I’m in the minority of people who enjoyed this game. Thought it was end to end with lots of good chances.

Club Brugge KV2 - 3Aston VillaIn Bruges achieves the very difficult task of being both hilariously funny and tragically sad. This is a combination that director Martin McDonagh and stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson perfected in The Banshees of Inisherin, but the formula came from this film. Our two protagonists both contrast and mirror each other in their outlook on life. Farrell feels the emotional weight of his life as a hitman. It’s something he’s good at but he struggles greatly with the morality of his work and who gets caught in the crossfire. Gleeson has a more melancholic feel about his performance; he’s blocked out the emotions of it all a long time ago and does his job without complaint. He still feels, just not enough to care. This film asks the intriguing moral questions of if we can truly change, and whether it is our actions or how we feel about our actions that defines if we are a good or bad person. Despite the underlying sadness and deep philosophical nature of In Bruges, the film is very funny, with the American tourists, Farrell’s dwarf theory and Ralph Fiennes’ destruction of a telephone all providing genuine laughs. I would definitely recommend it, especially if you enjoyed Banshees. A wonderful piece of Irish storytelling. I would also recommend The Guard, also starring Brendan Gleeson, and Don Cheadle, which is another hilarious Irish film. Fun fact - The Guard is actually directed by Martin McDonagh’s brother John. Another funny Irish one I’d suggest is The Young Offenders. They made it into a TV series after which is still going despite the actors being in their 30s, but the movie is better. Fun fact - The actress who plays the woman at the hardware shop appears in the current season of The Traitors Ireland. Follow for more film reviews and fun facts.

FUTSAUL LATE REVIEW COS HE WAS WATCHING ALL IN: Very entertaining match. It looked like it was going to be 2 consecutive weeks of embarrassing defeats for United but they were able to turn on the style in the second half. They perhaps lacked a bit of energy early doors but a gift of an equaliser got them going. Completely went to town on Town in the second half. Bruno Fernandes is in a league of his own. Anyone who doesn’t have him in FPL must feel VERY stupid rn (don’t check my team). The defence is still an issue though. They nearly went 2-0 down immediately after conceding the first goal, and Martinez had a howler for Ipswich’s second, although by then it was only a consolation. Maybe he had rain in his eye, it did look fairly wet out there. Despite the heavy loss, Ipswich aren’t bad. A freak slip got United back in it, an own goal got them ahead and that made poor Greaves lose all composure. They need to improve their game management and how they react to setbacks if they want to stay up. The 3 behind the striker (Maeda, Enciso and Fatawu) look very threatening and are linking up great already. They’ll help them take down some lesser teams for sure. United away is a tough fixture and they won last week so they won’t be hitting the panic button yet. Palacios will sure things up in midfield no doubt. Anyway, new season of The Traitors (Irish version) is out tonight so I’m gonna watch that. Follow or I’ll make a frowny face 🙁
