Rafa Marquez has a plan, whether that will result in something good is yet to be seen. The starting lineup was an experiment that served as a test for a lot of these “younger talent” and it seems a few of them weren’t up to par. There are lessons to be learned with that first goal that was a very needless mistake by Jeremy Marquez. On the flip side we put a good cross inside the box from Denzel Garcia which Victor Guzman managed to capitalize on. I see a couple names that definitely deserve to play in this team. Overall, much work to be done and the result is disappointing, but we move. ¡Viva Mexico! 🇲🇽

Que pinche orgullo ser mexicano! Uno de los mejores días de mi vida! Viví en México hasta 2018 antes de mudarme a Alemania y desde que me mudé nunca había regresado a México, así que ir este verano la verdad que fue hermoso y algo muy nostálgico. Ademas, de regalo de cumpleaños mi papá de alguna manera logró conseguir tickets para este partido, y jamás lo olvidaré. Desde el primer minuto y ya desde antes del partido se sabía que iba a ser un día especial, la verdad es que absolutamente todo en este partido fue perfecto. Disfruté mucho las vacaciones en México y este partido fue una de las mejores partes. Espero poder regresar pronto.

First half was very entertaining but the second half not as much. Once again, defensive issues in the first half was present. Almada seriously needs to improve the backline as this is now the third match in a row where we concede 2+ goals in the first half. We should’ve been down 3-2 at ht but were lucky that Julian Carranza missed a sitter. We’re just asking to concede goals when we have Lara and Vazquez as our CB duo. Hopefully we get to see Santiago Bueno and Santiago Ramos get minutes soon because I can’t keep seeing those two start. 😵💫 With this win we head into the international break 2nd only behind Toluca due to goals scored. Omfg what the hell did I just watch man, my eyes are bleeding. I don’t know wtf happened to us but since that 2018 world up we are just ass, there’s no other way to say it. Why do I keep doing this to myself? What is the point of all this? I could’ve studied for my exam that I have tomorrow but instead I wasted 90 minutes of my life that I won’t ever get back on this bs. Karim Adeyemi plays like a Sunday league player as soon as he leaves Barcelona, Nmecha was incredibly shit, actually everyone was shit. Not even fucking Pep Guardiola could save this team, we are in the mud and have been in the mud for 8 years, I can’t do this anymore. Only good part of this game was when the referee finally blew his whistle, at this point we’ll even lose to Serbia.

Horrible start, but England made a decent account for ourselves as the game went on. Extremely silly from Guehi to make an error like that so early, literally no need to turn and hand it on a plate. England responded really well and had some really good and positive plays. Gordon with a lovely linkup with Bellingham and finish using his unmatched pace. Then Kane with a header that was comically guided in by Cucurella, made everyone but the Spanish laugh I think. England had a fortunate penalty in the second half blazed over by Harry Kane, which my dad and myself BOTH called he'd miss. From then Spain took their chances with England being so casual in defence, as usual, after many good combinations in the attack leading to squandered chances. This is what happens though, make mistakes and you get punished, especially against the World Champions. We go again, I was impressed with Gordon, but there was one player who stood out, Jarrel Quansah. The only good defender tonight, he worked his socks off in both defence and attack, so he's my MOTM for England. Overall MOTM is probably Lamine Yamal, didn't do a lot but the stuff he did do was quality and was a huge factor in Spain winning the game.

At least Snoeijs scored a beauty, and Kyara Deitelzweig Senior debuted whos a great talent and only 16 years old. Oh well onto the Europa Cup and hope for some magic there. Want to start with saying RIP to legend Jimmy Rimmer and condolences to his family. HEITS 💜💙🕊 I thought we were a lot better, Suzuki looks class for our system, his pinged passes were very satisfying to see. Cash actually had a good game too. I thought Tzolis was quite lucky to stay on the pitch, if the he wasn't already booked the referee would've given him a yellow for that 2nd drag back. Jackson looked sharp but we didn't offer him a lot. McGinn and Torres were quite off it again, lots of silly passes and slow reaction time. Bringing Tammy on for Jackson was very head-scratching, I don't really know how Abraham fits in our team as much as I love him. The thing Unai needs to drill into Jackson is work rate, that's what Watkins did best. Even when having a bad game he'd be non-stop running his socks off. That's the main thing we missed today intensity. Hemmings is very raw, he got a few things wrong today, however he has time to learn, I do like the look of him. Wan-Bissaka's cameo was very promising, every tackle was amazing. I can see why he's seen as one of the best ball tacklers in the world and hopefully he can give Cash a run for his money. (pardon the pun) Referee and officials were shocking, I've mentioned the Tzolis moment, but that penalty decision absolutely shocking. Everyone in the stadium could see it was not in the penalty area, they just guessed and gave a penalty. That's what VAR is there for though. I thought he gave so many soft fouls for both teams too, and didn't give many obvious fouls. Arsenal were way off it, I think if we had a sharper attack we would've definitely scored. But that's what league winners do, win the ugly games. I do think they will retain once again, not many teams can play below par and win like that. Well done to my Arsenal friends, however I hope we return the favour with a win at the Emirates later in the season. Promising signs - still Mbaye, Harwood-Bellis, Madjo and Manzambi to come in. Up The Villa!
