Decent match overall. Arsenal was the dominant side for majority of the match however they did struggle to break down this nasty Allegri ball. Also these guys just couldn’t shoot for shit today I guess. 😭 Also lovely goal from Odegaard. 🤩

Fluminense2 - 0Platense

Fluminense were the better team, went through this quite comfortably. It isnt over for Platense but it isnt looking at all. Hulk was great with a goal and assist, man doesnt age i guess. Still going strong at like 40 now i believe. What a player man. Also a perfect prediction here so im happy with that.

great ebening for villans, emery might collect another european trophy this season

Club Brugge KV2 - 3Aston VillaI'm not gay but I want to live in a log cabin in the woods with Zion Suzuki. We won't ever have sex, but there will be a simmering erotic undercurrent as I stand in the kitchen window watching him tighten his ass as he chops wood, shirtless, sweat pouring off his body. I'll run upstairs and masturbate, the entire time forcing myself to think of women while my thoughts drift back to Zion Suzuki. I won't be able to climax and I'll eventually go back downstairs, angry. Sometimes we will look across the table and catch each other's eyes, and in that second, anything is possible, but we both deny ourselves and go back to what we were doing. One day one of us will die, and the other will bury him outside the log cabin. Then he'll go inside, pen a brief missive to his departed friend, and commit suicide, never able to deal with life without his one true platonic love.

Banger match to open the UCL Sommer disasterclass but first half madness

Elche2 - 3Real Sociedad

i already knew Sociedad had it in the bag (well, barely), however… icl, Elche actually put up a good fight, especially around the second half - they managed to come back out scoring 2 goals in their effort, and yet, here i was, feeling ‘bad’ for them 😅

Elche
Elche2 - 3Real Sociedad

only watched the last few minutes because i thought elche was gonna give me the 3 points. regardless of which side won this was a win for the girona ex-acts. congratulations to yangel herrera

last minute equaliser gimmick for what was once the greatest italian club in the world

Juventus
Juventus1 - 1Milan

Expected this to be very tight and it was, Gatti late on rescuing a point for Juve. Milan will be kicking themselves for that poor marking. Good goal from young Alphadjo Cissè to put Milan one ahead. Far from deserved, this game was a proper 0-0. Not ideal for either team but I think Juve will be the more happy of the two for coming back late on. Gatti MOTM for rescuing a point for Juve, Douglas Luiz and Yunus Musah were both solid though.

Juventus
Arsenal2 - 1Chelsea

Did we deserve to win this? Nope. Plagued with the same old problems of not controlling the match past the 20-minute mark. Losing Caicedo and not replacing Fernández is starting to cost us. Absolutely zero control of the midfield, and no one to cover for the defence when our RCB or LCB stepped up the pitch. And as good as Neto was moving up the pitch, he mostly left Acheampong deserted against Tzolis and Calafiori. I think a more defensive-minded wingback in Palestra would've done better. Thank Xabi for Emi Martínez, because this could've been way worse if not for him. I'd say Xabi made the best use of the players available to him and tweaked his tactics to get a fairer share of possession, trying to go toe-to-toe with the best team in England. Hopefully it turns out to be a repeat of the Chelsea 2016 moment, because we have the potential for a title run. Arteta set out to win and set up his team well after the early goal. Ødegaard, Rice, and Myles Lewis-Skelly cooked the Chelsea midfield, and we genuinely had no answers to their brilliance. As much as I hate him, Havertz is turning out to be one of the best number 9s in the league. Apart from his goal, his link-up play with the wingers and midfielders was top-tier, and the feint for the second goal was sublime. Ruined my weekend. Great game to end it though.

Arsenal
Arsenal2 - 1Chelsea

Fun end-to-end contest between two strong teams. Arsenal proving their worth in the Premier League title race once again, the reigning champions continue their 100% record, up there with Manchester City. They were very good today, played much better football than last week against Villa. Quick tempo and had Chelsea by the throat most of the game. This still isn't Arsenal at their best though, they slipped a couple times defensively, no surprise with that lethal front 3 that Chelsea now have. Konsa was very good filling in for injured Mosquera and sidelined Saliba. He was very underrated at us, hopefully Arsenal fans see the best of him, he is genuinely the best defender I've seen at Villa Park. I thought Havertz started really slow, but he grew into a game with a solid finish, perhaps Martinez could've done better though. He also did a very good dummy for Odegaard's goal and was linked up with Arsenal's play very well overall. Arteta has an even better team to work with than last season, the depth is absolutely insane. Chelsea fought well, but once again their defensive cracks were shown throughout. Their attack is absurd, I do think the weak link is still Pedro Neto within this team. Midfield combinations at their selection aren't bad too. Many injury prone players around the squad however, which may ruin any momentum within the squad. Rogers goal was well taken, they had a few nice plays on the transition which you don't really get against Arsenal. Martinez was pretty decent today, there's definitely improvement there from Sanchez. But I have to warn Chelsea fans there are mistakes in him which can be frustrating. He is a good character to have though and has a good voice within that backline. They will be up there this season, but I think this game proves they won't be in contention for the title. MOTM is Kai Havertz. I think this is the best game I've seen him have in a while. Odegaard and Rice were very solid too. It was an all champions performance.

SURVIVED ANOTHER LONDON DERBY I NEVER HAD A DOUBT

Arsenal
Everton2 - 2Man United

Wow what a finish to an overly dull game. Both teams really struggled to get anything going, I wasn't really impressed by either team, so a draw was a fair result in the end. Not really sure how to analyse this as Everton were not good at all, they were very wasteful and didn't create many clear cut chances. Both goals were out of nothing really, a near post belter from Tyrique George and a last minute rocket from Ainsley Maitland-Niles on his debut. Just heard on Sky that was 8 years from his first goal in the PL for Arsenal, crazy he's been around this long. Found it funny as soon as Everton bring on someone that can play RB he scores, after refusing to play a proper RB in the team for so long. Manchester United were not great either. They had a lot of the ball but created very little big chances with what they had. It took a lovely Mbeumo finish to open their scoring, back to back goals for him which he needed for his confidence. I think he'll be good again for United this season, perhaps even better. The second was a Benjamin Sesko header, which Pickford should've definitely done better with. But sometimes you need that luck in football. Great finish to the game after being so slow, even at 1-1 it felt like a 0-0 game. Really lacking tempo, but the last 10 minutes was worth the watch. I'll give Maitland-Niles the MOTM for his beauty that rescued a point for Everton.

HOLY SHIT😭😭😭 First half was pretty horrid, but the second half was peak. That last minute goal from Maitland-Niles might be one of my favourite goals, that side foot curl right into the top corner was sublime, just after United thought they won it late too. Sensational

Nott'm Forest0 - 0Tottenham

Really bad match from every angle, not much to analyse so I'll keep it short. Forest look okay in midfield and defence, but they need to sharpen up in attack. I think they'll eventually click under Glasner, they just need to adjust to the system as I've mentioned before. Unlucky not to have a goal with a handball ruling a Gibbs-White dink out, after some calamity defending from Spurs. For Spurs, another pretty unconvincing performance. They had a golden chance which Marmoush squandered, but apart from that they were quite blunt. Tonali still hasn't adjusted to life there, but I think he'll eventually settle. It was quite head scratching for De Zerbi to start Gallagher, who offered absolutely nothing today, over Mateus Fernandes. Many Spurs fans in chat were not happy at all, De Zerbi needs to sort a lot out. MOTM goes to Murillo, he was pretty solid. Not outstanding but you didn't have to be in this match, most players were really poor.

Nott'm Forest
Nott'm Forest0 - 0Tottenham

Entertainment wise this was awful, just really really bad. Felt like a typical Spurs game this season, poor showing and especially defensively dreadful. I dont know whats up, cant say its mentality because theyve gone through dozens of players at this point. Cant say its managers because theyve had enough of them too. But relying on Marmoush whos famously not a clinical striker is wild. Tel, Gallagher, Mudryk wont win you games either. At least they got a point today. Forest played well though, theyve been getting better every week. Pretty interesting team to look at with Glasner who i very much like as a manager. McAtee yet again their best player so also worthy of man of the match.
bookd.
