Wisla Krakow2 - 1GKS Katowice
Huge win for Krakow. The Katowice doctors almost successfully cursed them but they survived. Decent game overall, so many chances, 35 shots in total lmao. Feels like either team couldve won today but Krakow deserved it imo. The falling giants who have promoted again start with a win, thats just beautiful. Man of the match Bozic, dude played a great game, both offensively but worked defensively too. Got his goal too.

Great match, so many chances created from both teams, just became a matter of who took theirs, can't argue against the fact that Wisła deserved the win as they were capable of actually putting the ball in the back of the net, despite the fact that GKS had more overall chances. Happy for Wisła to be back, titans of the Polish game, I think the 2nd 'biggest' club in Poland after Legia, they look to be an extremely fun team, really awful defence today but more than made up for it with their attack. I worry for GKS, so many chances created but so so wasteful, they have to hope that this is just random variance and not a deeper issue as otherwise I think they'll really struggle this season, they were marginal favourites going into the match and the first half - where they were certainly the better team - showed that, but they got absolutely punished for not taking their chances. MOTM Sanchez as he would've had a brace had a very 50/50 call gone the other way, but I think both Krakow fullbacks were also excellent going forward. A enjoyable game of footy for the most part, some insane stuff going on as always in Ekstraklasa. That first goal was genuinely hilarious. Ronaldo on the left wing just isnt viable at this point, hes washed imo. Perhaps Fabio Ronaldo needs another job! Wisniewski man of the match for me, ended the game with 17 defcon which is insane.

A match of all time. Honestly really dissapointing result given the stature of these 2 teams, especially dissapointed in Lech's attack today. Perhaps they were still tired from their overseas midweek qualifying match but still should be doing better against a good, but not great Cracovia side. Not a great deal of events happened, honestly really should've just been a background noise match, a couple of okay chances at the very tail end of the game but too little too late. Lech keeper with a quintessential ekstraklasa boner moment by catching the ball outside of the box, red shown but overturned. Giving Cracovia keeper MOTM because he kept CS+made a lot of saves, but in all honesty none of them were particularly difficult. Cracovia fullbacks and Terry Yegbe also played well I think, looks to be an excellent signing. Despite their struggles today I would be very very surprised to see this Lech team not win the title again this season (unless their European campaign really holds them back domestically). Kozubal was good on midfield for Lech. Lis did good but he shouldve been sent off, i dont know how they overturned it, clear red to me. For Craiova it was mostly their defense that was good too. Both teams just sucked today lmao. Ill give man of the match to Madekski for 7 saves.

Two sides that were honestly both atrocious. But deserved for Gornik they were much better in the second half. I just need to rant about Wroclaw because 14 shots and 2 on target is diabolical, with 9 (NINE!!!!!) shots in the box. How do you even do that? They had 3 big chances and missed two. 23 touches in the opposition box is a lot too honestly. Soooooooo bad just criminal really. Man of the match Urbanski, 8 defcon as a more attacking midfielder + his heat map is everywhere. No failed dribbles either and good passing accuracy so just a good game from him.
