What a day this was, 9 year old Theo was in dreamland with jubilant family around. Tim Sherwood gets a lot of stick for his time at Villa, most of it is rightfully so with his stubbornness in management, but let us not forget the memories he helped create in this FA Cup run. "Super Jack" Grealish making a name for himself this season and this was the biggest statement of them all, toying with Liverpool at every given chance. Prime Christian Benteke was something to behold, without shadow of a doubt he kept Villa up for multiple seasons with his lethal finishing. We all know this was the match that Liverpool saw him as a gem, a shame he didn't work out there in the end. His sale really hurt Villa and ultimately guided us to a dismal 20th place the next season, but I'm not here to dwell on the dark times. Fabian Delph leading by example with the armband, still scoring one of the most satisfying goals I've seen in football. Maybe I am biased, but the backheel from Benteke, the through ball from Grealish and then the cut back inside and the way the ball just bobbled over Mignolet into the back of the net, wow. To some it may seem like a simple goal, but Villans such as myself still remember every second to this day. The players defended for their lives at the end, Richardson with a goal line clearance, Given with his experience in helping us get over the line. And although there was a refereeing error in disallowing a Balotelli goal, I think we were definitely deserved winners for the passion those players gave on the pitch, something we didn't really see all season. Even when we were 1-0 down to a tidy Coutinho finish, I felt a spark telling something good is to come on this day. And it did. The 2010s don't give many good memories for Aston Villa, maybe why we all fondly remember this game, but I'm glad I do. I remember bragging at school about the result, I believe I earned it with the banter directed at my club constantly. We don't speak of the final though...

this isn't a win this Irish team is a bunch of hypocritical scumbags who abandoned their teammate for money, fuck this group of Irish players, fuck the fai and fuck israel stop celebrating wins against Israel they fucking love the free publicity for legitimisation for the terrorist state imagine if we played isis in rugby and celebrated a win edit: fuck the ref too, Adam Idah was getting monkey chants from the visibly 100 Israel fans and let the ref know but apparently the ref didn't hear it even when it was audible on camera(I did not watch the match past 5 minutes but saw the clip afterwards) and because of his incompetence (or malice) they won't investigate the racism or punish the Israeli fans

Coventry1 - 3Aston VillaMuch better performance! The B team mostly played but our new signings shone, especially Ibrahim Mbaye, what a talent he is. Not going to discredit Wan-Bissaka, Ruggeri, Manzambi either. Suzuki and Harwood-Bellis were so comfortable on the ball, lovely to see. If Mbaye was on for longer he would've definitely got MOTM, but Taylor Harwood-Bellis, wow. It's like he'd been here forever, fit like a glove.(@alf sorry for praising a former scummer) Tammy with 2 goals too for confidence, running back 18/19 ❤️🩹❤️🩹

Gave me a smile for a second but then these key points came up: 1) We're down there with Cov 2) We have to play them Wednesday and they'll treat it as a cup final.

How one day you think you have it all, then the next absolute heartbreak and devastation... I've had to redo this review because this was one of the influential Youri Tielemans games. What a player, what a guy. When he first arrived, we were told by some Leicester fans that he was "finished". He was "slow", "overweight" and wasn't any good. How wrong were they... He took a few months to adjust to the Emery system, in and out of the first team. But when he settled, man we had the best ball playing midfielder in the Premier League. I've shared this story with @leslieee ,when Youri and the Villa squad went to visit Birmingham Children's Hospital, he was so kind to my friends sister. Amazing human being that will be deeply missed by all of us at Aston Villa. I'm glad he left on such a high note. Good luck Youri, we love you 💜💙
