Lens1 - 0PSG
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting this much entertainment from this final, ngl! Such a great performance from Lens, especially Risser. The ref was something else 🥴 rip to those who lost their predictions

Lens1 - 0PSG
Hugely deserved for Lens. Despite only 1-0 the game was full of action. Risser was absolutely excellent all game. Huge moment for them and the fans, very good scenes to see. PSG were extremely poor, disappointing night for them. Especially after playing against 10 men for the majority of the game. No one really turned up. Thought the referee was terrible. The first red was never a red and he blew too early for another major chance that led to a Lens goal, meaning it couldn't get given by VAR. Congratulations Lens!

PSG2 - 1Aston VillaReview from the stadium, wow. So proud of this team. The fight they gave was unreal, against Europe's best team too, is even more impressive. AND to add we were missing 5 first team players, whereas they had their FULL team on the pitch. Despite the result, I feel nothing but positivity from this team. The George Hemmings and Ian Maatsen partnership was absolutely unreal. Brian Madjo an absolute tank. Kamara and Gomes were absolutely brilliant. Bizot even, fantastic. The positive adjectives for each and every player are limitless. I'm so proud of this team. May this be the beginning of a great era under the great Unai Emery. We love him to bits, we wouldn't change him for anyone. I hope we've proved a lot of doubters wrong, once again. The ceiling of this team is only held back by the PL's dodgy rules. Quick word on the referees, awful. But enough about them. This is about Aston Villa 💜💙 Congratulations to PSG, it was a great game. May we meet again 🙂↕️ UP THE FUCKING VILLA!!!

Ajax3 - 1Shelbourne
Good performance from Ajax, despite a missed penalty and a concession which could've been avoided, I thought they were great. Shelbourne can be proud with getting a goal considering the huge gap in quality, but Ajax were 100% deserved winners and if it wasn't for GK Beach, it would've been a lot more.

Ajax
Wisla Krakow2 - 1GKS Katowice
Great match, so many chances created from both teams, just became a matter of who took theirs, can't argue against the fact that Wisła deserved the win as they were capable of actually putting the ball in the back of the net, despite the fact that GKS had more overall chances. Happy for Wisła to be back, titans of the Polish game, I think the 2nd 'biggest' club in Poland after Legia, they look to be an extremely fun team, really awful defence today but more than made up for it with their attack. I worry for GKS, so many chances created but so so wasteful, they have to hope that this is just random variance and not a deeper issue as otherwise I think they'll really struggle this season, they were marginal favourites going into the match and the first half - where they were certainly the better team - showed that, but they got absolutely punished for not taking their chances. MOTM Sanchez as he would've had a brace had a very 50/50 call gone the other way, but I think both Krakow fullbacks were also excellent going forward. Blood moon image from yesterday attatched, looked even better in person the camera doesn't quite do it justice

Kind of late for this review because of traveling in Barcelona, but here we are after 3 days... I attended a watchparty near the hotel that I'm staying at and boy oh boy what an experience it was! The atmosphere was immaculate. Got called Cucurella countless of times by a lot of guys over here because of my long, curly hair (no offence taken haha). The interactions were amazing as if you knew them a long time and the people were so welcoming which made the experience even better. Everytime Trump would come on screen, everyone booed loudly towards him (including myself) and chanted 'Viva Palestina' as if it couldn't get better haha. What was funny about this match is that everytime Argentina made a foul, everyone started to cheer as if the game was won, let alone that red card lmao haha. The final itself was very good imo, excluding that halftime show 🙄, but the match itself was very tense and nail-biting to watch. Both sides played very good at their strengths. Argentina with their brick wall of a defense and Spain just controling and dominating the whole match. If it wasn't for Emi Martinez, Argentina would've conceded so many goals. At last can't forget about the most important moment of the match: the winning goal from none other than Ferran Torres the SHARK!!! So happy for him, he deserves this moment after everything he has gone through. The whole crowd erupted, fireworks were lit, beer thrown all over the place, Spain flags all waving in the air. This was truely beauty in chaos... During this final I lost my voice, whole body was sweaty asf, my feet totally bruised up and my spine couldn't hold it anymore from standing the whole match. Loved every single second of this experience. This city is truly magical. Its people, the culture, the weather, just so many things are amazing. I feel extremely lucky to have experienced such a big event in Barcelona out of all places haha. Truly a dream come true... Thank you football and thank you Bookd community ❤️

Fair enough. For the neutral I’d hope it was a good watch. We’ve all chatted our shit but only one of us will back it up. I’m proud of the team today, I believe that loss was on the manager’s subs and sitting back tactically against the team that has comeback in its DNA. Something I’ve been particularly happy to see is players who have proven me severely wrong this tournament. Guys I doubted who made me look like a fool. Today, Djed Spence and Anthony Gordon epitomised that. I wouldn’t have taken Spence before the tournament but I believe him, Gordon (who I believed was worse than Rashford for the group stage) and Pickford may well have played the best games of their lives and that should not be understated or overshadowed. I will give my congratulations to Argentina. I have a severe disliking for a lot of the players who have video evidence of them being racist to opponents, however a country is also its fans, and the fans will be over the moon today, which will be great for them. It is what it is haha, well done guys (but I still hope you lose because I predicted Spain to win the wc from before it started). That being said, I will still walk into Buenos Aires with a £1 coin and crash your economy like Mansa Musa spreading his gold around various African economies. This game was not “rigged” though, and Argentina won fairly, to quash a common agenda that people will inevitably spread. Til next tournament, COME ON ENGLAND!!! ❤️🏴🦁🦁🦁

England1 - 2Argentina
This game pretty much summed up both England and Argentina perfectly. Argentina played rather defensively for the most part and, one might add, very aggressively, while all England wanted was one goal, the first goal. And they even got that goal from Gordon, who was found with an absolutely delicious cross by Rogers. And then Tuchel made some baffling tweaks that just made the entire English team sit back in an extreme low block and defend for their lives for the next 40 minutes. England ended the game with six, yes, SIX defenders on the pitch. What this also causes is that if you happen to concede a goal or manage to hoof the ball out of your own penalty area, you have no attacking outlets remaining with Gordon, the only one in this English side who could exploit the Argentine defensive line with his speed, being taken off. Every single English player was behind the ball, and all Argentina had to do was pepper them with crosses and passes into the box to pin them back. The problem with this game plan is, and why it worked against Mexico and not against Argentina, is one man: Messi. You CANNOT go into that defensive of a structure without any intention of attacking with that absolute DEMON on the pitch. And once again, just like against Egypt, he stepped up, took the onus on himself in the last 20 minutes, and turned this game around pretty much single-handedly. He had able allies in Enzo and Lautaro, but pretty much 90% of everything went through Messi on the right flank, either beating his man on the outside and whipping a cross in or cutting in and playing those absolutely sublime one-twos to open up the English backline. And I can't lie, I enjoyed every minute of him running the clock back. One has to soak it in; he might only play one more game in Argentine colors. People may dislike this Argentine team, but watching Messi play at his absolute best is always a special, special thing to witness.

I feel so vindicated after saying throughout the tournament that if there was one team who could stop this French 'super attack', it is Spain. This Spanish side is so perfectly built to counter the exact kind of football the French like to play and have proven to be a thorn in their side for a few years now. The way they completely neutralized this French front 4 by just keeping, passing, and not allowing the French to have any time on the ball was an absolute joy to watch. This domination almost reminded me of the 2010 squad, not with as much 'aura', but just so incredibly professional. As much as I love Pedri, I do have to say that a midfield of Rodri, Fabian Ruiz, and Olmo just works so well. The thing with Pedri is that he often does a lot of the work that Rodri already does for the Spanish NT. This makes it difficult for him to have a consistent role in this team as it leads to DLF pushing him forward, which just is not his role. Fabian, on the other hand, has a completely different profile which complements Rodri and Olmo much better, and that was seen today as Spain's midfield 3 completely nullified Tchouameni and Rabiot. Olmo, also, has quietly had yet another excellent tournament for Spain while Rodri is back to bossing the midfield and dictating the entire tempo of the game like he never had that ACL injury. It also didn't help that France just allowed Spain to take so much control, and outside of a couple of long balls from deep and long shots, they barely managed to create anything of substance. It's almost as if they'd accepted their fate as soon as Porro scored the second and never once managed to threaten Simon (outside of that one brainfade moment). Special shoutout to Cubarsi who has had an unreal tournament at the heart of a Spanish defense that has been rock solid throughout. If Spain manages to win the entire thing, he, for me, would be a massive contender for not only YPOTT (which pretty much seems locked on at this point) but also POTT.

A match of football where a team won. Pizza I had yesterday, really stretching the definition of the term pizza as it didn't have any tomato sauce however I thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless. Went on a walk yesterday, saw a shopping cart in the middle of valley, wonder how it got there. @midgetlover attatched below are the 2 cat images you requested.

VOETBAL HEEFT GEWONNEN. No bad blood for Balogun but it's politics to blame for. Never ever mix politics into sports. So proud of the boys but unlucky for Onana who played so good at first and went out with a blow. At last Infantino should resign immediately because this is the biggest scandal in World Cup history.

My heart will never recover. I was on my knees throughout the last 15 minutes. BUT WE DID IT!!! Condolences to Mexico and all my Mexican friends, you fought very well, but it wasn't to be. One of the most dramatic England games of all time, I'm so relieved. Every emotion was experienced in this game. Proper rollecoaster, when we went down to 10, I thought we were done for. But every single player out there gave it their all. Getting emotional writing this. Bellingham worked so hard, Gordon and Kane never gave up. Ezri Konsa by the way, that RB shift was absolutely unreal. Spence at LB, amazing. Dan Burn even, put his body on the line. A match I will never forget, and millions of others too. So happy, I don't really have many more words because a lot of it came out with my family at home. Sensational. I love and hate football, it is everything.

Here we go again. Fuck Hakimi. First game of the round of 16, not as much football played in the first half though. Theres been fewer shots (5) than cards given (6), and also 15 fouls committed in just 45 minutes. Last time there was a game with 15+ fouls in 45 minutes was in 2010 between Chile - Spain. Canada had enough chances though just didnt score any of them, with Saibari out injured Morocco have looked even more dreadful. Second half completely different, Canada lost grip of the game and all Morocco needed was a single chance to score. God knows why Canada didnt bring in Promise David sooner though. Then Morocco scoring again in the 80th minute on a counter to end the game. That 0-3 especially awful, scoreline doesnt do it justice how much effort most of the Canadian players put into this game. More xG for Canada, more touches in the box, more chances, and more shots… this being 0-3 is insane. Really unfortunate for Canada, besides that i love the country they really have a likable team too. I do wonder what this couldve looked like if Kone didnt get that awful injury against Qatar, and if Davies was fully fit. Hope this performance made football even bigger in Canada, id love to see them get better and better 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦 Man of the match Ounahi, brace and generally a good game.
