Argentina3 - 2Cape Verde Islands
A country with less than a million residents put up a fantastic fight against Argentina, what else could you ask for your first WC appearance? I'm super happy for Cape Verde and I cant even begin to imagine how much this means to the cape verdeans. Seriously, because of moments like this, it saddens me how much complaining there is about the expansion, clearly comes from people whose country is always present at the World Cup, people who dont understand how much this means to others

………………. yknow I can’t even be mad at Rafa Marquez rn bc this is a whole new configuration, they’re still learning how to play together, it’s the c team. all of that I can understand (though it made for a frightfully boring match). the only thing I ask is that we do NOT lose against the united states of mf america bc we CANNOT afford a humiliation of that magnitude. if the mexico vs england match didn’t do me in, a mexico loss here definitely would onto other news, congrats Brazil for your triumph against the aussies ❤️ we love to see it !! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷 MEXICO LINDO Y QUERIDO SI MUERO LEJOS DE TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

props to rafa for taking the risks of playing different players, but please never do this again 😭. also such a horrible ref??? he deserves to get fired after ignoring nearly every foul
Mexico1 - 1Peru
A match that happened and was played, it was a snooze fest with very little shots on target, Toro Guzmán pulled through with another of his amazing headers similar to what he did on the rayados game with Chicago Fire, Mateo carried the defense this entire game and I feel like he has earned his spot in the main XI. I fully trust Rafa and believe he’s only experimenting to see what players work best for his style, WE WILL LOCK IN
