considering i expected at least a 5-0 battering (not because we're on the same level as lyon's previous opponents, but out of concern for how tired our players look) i'm relieved to go away with a point for this. pretty decent defensive performance to close out the second half, especially when a lot of our squad have played three games in the space of a week. however, it was extremely frustrating to not capitalise on a rare moment of lyon not being as productive in front of goal as they usually are.

Ademas, de regalo de cumpleaños mi papá de alguna manera logró conseguir tickets para este partido, y jamás lo olvidaré. Desde el primer minuto y ya desde antes del partido se sabía que iba a ser un día especial, la verdad es que absolutamente todo en este partido fue perfecto. Disfruté mucho las vacaciones en México y este partido fue una de las mejores partes. Espero poder regresar pronto.

Round of 16 in the 25/26 dfb Pokal, what a Game. The atmosphere in this game was absolutely insane, Hertha fans never disappoint. On paper most people would’ve expected a very close game, due to both teams being just 3 points away from each other, but this was definitely not close. Kaiserslautern had a horrible game, sloppy mistakes and no goal scoring opportunities. Hertha genuinely dominated this game from the first to the last minute and it definitely could’ve been even more goals. Super fun game and an incredible atmosphere made it even better. Tagging Ernad cause his team got clapped 😹

We havent beaten Napoli at home since 2018 and with how bad we started the season this is just a good result, limited our goals against to just one, thanks to a De Gea masterclass though he saved us today. Bit unlucky ourselves early on too hitting the woodwork twice. Three games unbeaten since Vanoli returned, hes the goat.

It's very very nice to pick up a point away from home. We should've won for sure but at least we've proved we know how to play football away from home! McGoldrick's first goal was onside so we've been quite unlucky. His second was offside. Oates & Akins also had big chances to win the game, both quite unlucky. Great ball from Moriah-Welsh for the first goal and Akins did well for the second. I think when Akins and Bolton came on they were excellent, nice to see Bolton doing well after all the injuries he's had. Supporting Mansfield never stops. While the first like 40 minutes pretty much were a little worrisome it was rather comfortable eventually. We just had so many chances but couldn’t finish them, and had some shaky moments where both Youri Baas and Thilo Kehrer were incredibly important. But who else than Davy Klaassen, Mister 1-0 himself, to score the 1-0, he has done it yet again. Quite a beautiful play as well, good assist from Dolberg. After that a great goal from Brandt, what a fucking player man why does he play in the Eredivisie lmao. Second half was somewhat slower, few early subs and Tsygankov proved his worth again with a goal this time, Gloukh finally getting his goal after some chances and then Dolberg also finally getting a goal. Im glad Dolberg played well today but also a little disappointed that Marcos Leonardo didnt get minutes. Either way im glad we won comfortably despite rotating quite a lot. Pretty tough game next weekend against a strong Excelsior so good we could build up confidence these past two games. I dont know what the last time is that we wont two games in a row with a scoreline similar to 5-1, but it has to have been 4 years ago or so because we have struggled scoring a lot ever since we fell off. Im happy with the way we play, theres a lot to still improve but our level now is already better than our level the past years besides the Farioli year, though that was more defensive quality. Gloukh the obvious pick for man of the match, and he does deserve it, but Thilo Kehrer, Youri Baas, and Julian Brandt all would deserve it too honestly. Center backs incredibly important today, and Brandt literally is just the best player on the pitch.

I think first we need to talk about the obvious. Owen Dodgson with one of the most pathetic tackles i've ever seen. AND HE HAD BEEN ON THE PITCH FOR A MINUTE. A SINGLE MINUTE. So so so fucking lazy. Thank god he's on loan. Onto the game and in the first half we played pretty well. We had more chances and looked the better team going into the second half. Thompson and Reed having decent efforts but no massive threat. McGoldrick also still looks a bit unready. The referee today was shocking, so many poor decisions, although the red card was fair. Second half and we defended extremely extremely well. Oshilaja, Hewitt and Sweeney were great! Moriah-Welsh also deserves a recognition for his clearance in the first-half. Huddersfield had many chances as you would expect in that second half but literally none tested Roberts. For a 0-0 it wasn't that bad of a game. I think if Owen Dodgson wasn't useless and didn't get sent off we'd of won that game as Huddersfield didn't look amazing but it's a very good point no matter what. Especially as Huddersfield are one of the best teams in the league and came into today unbeaten. Burton away next. 🫡 (we've won 1 out of the last 9 against Burton)

Took the extremely short trip to my local today as they hosted 7th tier side Gainsborough Trinity (Sherwood are in the 9th) and they gave it a very good go against a side who made it to the first round proper last season. First twenty-five minutes was all Gainsborough as they showed the difference in quality between the two sides and deservedly took the lead with a lovely shot into the bottom right corner before Sherwood equalised basically instantly through Jordan Preston and could've and probably should've taken the lead before half-time as they started to control the game, Kokkinos and York having big chances. Sherwood had a few chances early into the second half but none of them really challenged Robson in the Holy Blues net. Then Gainsborough scored two quick goals to basically confirm their place in the Second Qualifying Round before Theo Williams added a fourth in the last ten minutes to put the nail in the coffin for the hosts. The Wood did score a controversial goal in added time as Ronnie Kokkinos fired into an empty net which was nice to see as he's a former Mansfield player (and i was stood right next to his family) Sherwood have a beautiful view from their ground too and you can also watch the cricket team that's next door to the ground! Maybe the only chance i'll ever have to log a Sherwood Colliery game on here so i had to take the opportunity 🫡

MORIAH-WELSH 🤩🤩🤩 He hasn't scored a goal since this exact day last year and he scores twice today! SO many positives. So many players to choose for POTM and i think if you said any of the players for POTM they'd be a good pick. Moriah-Welsh with an absolute rocket for his second goal too, by far the best first-half performance i've seen in a long long time. Luton are one of if not THE title favourite in this league and to be 5-0 up against them is nuts. Felt like i was dreaming Michael Smith and Jon Russell both unbelievable today, Smith is so so crucial to how we play and Russell just wow what a player. Really nice to have players back from injury too, i think we just need Tyler Roberts and Cargill back and we're basically full strength Liam Thompson was quite literally everywhere today. Unbelievable signing McLaughlin, Reed, Hendry all looked really good too. Don't think Louis Reed meant to do what he did for the goal but i'll take it 😅 Sweeney, Knoyle and Oshilaja all looked solid enough at the back. I need to look back at the penalty which Knoyle gave away, i think it was a penalty but not 100% sure?? Hard to tell from where i sit Kasey Palmer for Luton was the best player i saw last season and today he created a few chances but never really troubled L. Roberts Didzy had two chances towards the end, the first one he tried something acrobatic and i hope he doesn't do that often because he'll injure himself. Second chance was a header which he did well to get onto but was a fair bit over the bar Really tough week coming up with Reading and Bradford away. Would settle for a point in both of those just like how i would've settled for a point today. Stagzzzz 💛💙🦌

Unfortunate result but I really think we did decent, just a step too high i suppose. Still have another game so you never know of course. Liefting had a pretty bad game though, some rough goalkeeping especially later in the game. Schröder scored a beautiful goal, and sad Janou Levels scored because shes Dutch, how could she do that to us? We really shouldve had a goal though, gonna be very difficult next week.

Il calcio è tornato 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹 one of my favorite leagues, the league i loved as a kid, and the league that brings joy to life. I recently read someone who described Serie A as theater rather than football, and honestly i couldn’t agree more. It may not have the quality it once had, but boy is it still beautiful. Great start for Inter, took 6 minutes and we already got a banger from Çalhanoglu. After that Inter was poor for a bit though, allowing Monza to get an equalizer too. Inter picked it up in the second half and destroyed Monza, quite an easy win in the end. Andy Diouf played great with two assists. Esposito also scored a beauty, that kid has so much potential so im glad hes getting game time. Not really sure why Monza played attacking football tbh, but like i respect it i guess 😭. Fun stat Opta posted is that Only Clarence Seedorf (13) scored in more consecutive Serie A seasons than Zielinski (12), together with Cuadrado, Ilicic, Liedholm, and Vecino. For me Diouf is clear man of the match.

Weird game. Because we should've won..? I haven't checked the stats but we must of had at least double the shots and Maris had three massive chances in the first half alone. Some of those Manchester City youngsters are ridiculously good for their age. You can tell quite a few of them will make it at a very high level. We were ridiculously poor infront of goal and they were very clinical. I genuinely don't remember the last time we won a game in this competition
