I have to applaud. He's been getting a lot of abuse online, which I personally disagree with and think is unfair. It's not his fault Xabi Alonso threw him into the deep end so quickly. He just needed a little more time and experience to develop, which Fiorentina definitely is the place for that. A rough start for them, however, performances like this can help Fiorentina keep climbing up the table. Bravo Franco 👏

Wow, I've watched Como a lot, but this is one of the best performances I've seen from them. I was going to say "Fabregas has them cooking", but that is an understatement. Yes, they have a plethora of resources at hand which does give them a massive advantage. But you have to make it count in order to work, you have to play good football, which is exactly what Cesc Fabregas has them doing. It will be interesting to see how they fare against teams like Manchester United, Barcelona and PSG. I hope Fabregas keeps that attacking, never give up mentality because it just works so well for them. Not a lot to say about Leipzig, they were very poor and didn't play with enough intensity or awareness. They still had chances, but squandered most of them. 4-1 was quite deserved on the night, so many levels between the quality of performances from both teams. Como - excellent. Leipzig - underwhelming. MOTM goes to Nico Paz for his 2 assists and control of the game. Although, he definitely should've had a goal to go with that.

But Como, annoyingly so, does play really beautiful football, Baturina is an incredible player as well as Nico Paz. Leipzig was uhhh, well, bad. They havent looked good this season but today is their worst performance yet. Barely any of the players look even slightly decent. Not that i care, may the red byll teams be forever unsuccessful.

first half was really boring >welbeck was inefficient >estevao was overdoing it >gittens was plain bad i did like barco x watson though, watson won the ball a lot and barco’s interceptions are something you admire in a player penders was decent, he made a phenomenal double save but got too excited for the corner goal we ended up conceding and the blame is on him unfortunately the 3 cbs generally need to work on their game more, i do believe a part of it is needing to get used to xabi’s system and playing like together, but regardless, improvements must be seen soon 2nd half was just the opposite of the first half >palmer & rogers were so electric and impactful, just world class >welbeck became much more active when he had 2 magicians behind him >barco was generally much better >neto was great attackingly & defensively we flipped a 0-2 to 3-2 in 7 minutes, thats insane fofana & james were okay, nothing to go crazy over or anything, james did miss a crucial chance which was annoying but oh well to sum it all up >first half bad, second half better >palmer & rogers were demons, without them we lose 3/4-0

English Champions kick off their opener in the UCL!❤️🤍 Massive result, especially for somewhere like the stadio maradon. 6 big chances missed has got to be a UCL record. Hincapie, Gabriel, are so key for that left side, the composure on the ball through the chaos of napoli's counters, key in this clean sheet. But we move. It's 1-0 to the arsenal, our UCL league phase win streak continues and seeing as how the game started I'm feeling a sense of relief at the win. - Madueke/gyokeres are a problem in every sense of the word. Both Saka and Ode were hindered by a striker with zero clinicality. Our problems persist as always against low blocks and it's off of odegaard's brilliance, who had a world-class game that we scraped by. All in all, we have much to improve on come sunderland away.

I am only not panicking because it’s Arsenal and also if you think of Napoli in a history context only real recently have we been consistently winning titles. ArsenalNapoli0 - 1ArsenalI think the result was set before the match even kicked off. A traditional 0-1 to the Arsenal, a class Martin Ødegaard strike to get all 3 points for the Gunners. Professionalism is very much an understatement for how Mikel Arteta dealt with this game. Patience paid off in the end after Allegri allowing Arsenal to have the ball, hoping his low block wouldn't be exposed, but it ultimately was. The goalscorer was the man of the night, dictating play and putting in a proper captain's performance. Napoli had a good structure, but if you don't threaten at one end, you're going to suffer at the other. Hojlund getting barely any service for chances, then deciding to bring on a lackluster Lorenzo Lucca was very questionable from Massimiliano Allegri. I think the foundation of the performance was in the right direction overall, but the execution was once again not enough. A loss against the champions of England is no embarrassment though, they'll still be kicking themselves that it didn't go according to plan. MOTM as I mentioned, Martin Ødegaard. Back to back great performances, showing his worth as captain.

Motm is definitely between yamal and raphinha but it will go to yamal for his free kick and 2 assists. Emery once again proving why he is one of the best tacticians of the modern game. Brugge tried to set up a high line to mount some early pressure on an inexperienced Villa side who are still trying to find their rhythm after a poor start to the season. But without their best defender in Ordoñez, the back line lacked pace when a simple ball was played over it. Props to Jackson, who took on their CBs all by himself. One of his best qualities is that he's elite at linking everyone around him and stretching the backline. As good was his goal was, the 2nd goal shows why Emery rates him highly, even when the general discourse around him is highly critical. Gomes and Kamara have finally clicked, and both did a superb job covering for one another. Kamara, after his injury last season, is quietly turning out to be one of the best free transfers in the league. Can we take a moment to talk about Zion Suzuki? Villa's recruitment team did an amazing job buying him for 30M, and he already looks better than Martínez. Good with both feet, good positioning, and a calming presence at the back. He's young and will make mistakes, but he's got huge potential to become the best keeper in the world. Only UCL game worth watching (couldn't watch Lille-Betis ☹️)
