only joined at about the hour mark (sheff utd is like the club equivalent of having a side chick, a girlfriend (al hilal) and a wife (arsenal) to me) but what an entertaining last 30 minutes it was. sheffield united equalising, conceding again to give bolton the lead and then coming back thanks to an insane strike by donovan 2 minutes before the whistle was blown. the defence cleaned up their act towards the end with the whole team contributing to clear the ball and get it out of their third but credit to bolton wanderers for putting up a great fight. first 3 points of the season so this clearly means we’re on the road to winning the championship/getting promoted ❤️🩹

picture definitely unrelated i’m mostly being salty since chelsea seem really solid this match (even neto scored) but brighton nearly came back in that second half. i think the biggest issue for chelsea this season will be their lack of possession but they did pretty well today off the ball so it could go under the radar. i would say they’ve defensively shaped up a lot but simultaneously they did concede 3 goals so even if they’re better it’s still not where i presume xabi alonso wants it to be. their midfield definitely missed caicedo too, i think it’ll be worrying that he was out last match for injury and now had to be taken off the pitch after 20 minutes (as well as lavia still not completing a full 90). i’ve mostly been talking about chelsea but brighton impressed me a lot. i think once they realised you can’t keep crossing the ball right into where lacroix is stood they improved. their defence clearly misses van hecke but i think they’re managing somewhat well so they should be able to handle teams that are weaker attacking wise. overall, this match has made me believe (unless they drop off in december) that chelsea will be in the title race since they don’t have european competitions to worry about too which is not very good for us.

-2 stars for the failed hatewatch boo 👎👎👎 on a more serious note, it was pretty impressive seeing real madrid come back from a very shaky first half where they wasted a lot of good chances. i do think real sociedads performance went under the radar due to being a weaker side but it wasn’t very convincing. jose mourinho must’ve jumped the team at halftime because they really came back, and with sociedad becoming more and more exposed progressively also due to their substitutions, it wasn’t hard to score after that. dropping the vini hate gimmick for a second due to the assist (even though the goal wasn’t exactly a major feat) but i found that when he wasn’t attempting to beat his man 1v1 and instead passing around trying to break up the defence, he performed much better. also i can’t forget bellingham today providing 2 assists, he’s usually very fun to watch so i can’t hate too much. anyway with both the men’s and women’s real sociedad team losing tremendously, it’s safe to say they did not kill themselves for basque county 💔
