Cameroon W3 - 0Malawi W

both teams made tournament history and it was beautiful to watch from the group stages. Cameroon utterly dominated and Malawi's defense just couldn't hack it. even though they will be upset knowing they didn't play their best football, Malawi should absolutely be celebrating qualifying for the WWC. post WAFCON thoughts: despite CAF's poor organisation and advertising of the tournament, each team played their hearts out in every game. so many overlooked teams caused upsets for tournament favourites. so many players took the chance to shine for their countries despite not getting as much game time for their clubs. messy group stages forced us to try and work out who needed what to qualify and coaches and fans were literally trying to figure it out on the sidelines (#justiceforZambia😭). it's clear to see that the future of African women's football is very bright!!! Michaely Bihina, Ines Konan, N'Sira Safi, Marie Ngah Manga stocks are UPPP📈
Cameroon W2 - 1Mali W

thank you CAF overlords for gifting us a competent commentator💛. the difference was staggering. both teams battled it out in the first half. build up to Cameroon's first goal was beautiful. after the longest wait in the world for VAR to check ... (still not sure what was being checked), Traoré banged Mali's penalty in. probably would have ended 1-1 because even though Cameroon were hungry for it, they couldn't finish any of their attempts. howeverrrrr, Karentao gave away a silly penalty and Cameroon got their 2nd. the Ghana that beat Cabo Verde would struggle against either of these two teams👀 so safe to say that the next games will be fun to watch
Nigeria W2 - 3Malawi W

i love an underdog story. predictions and history pointed to a clear Nigeria win but Malawi fought for this win the whole game. Sikelo had the box under control and Malawi's defense made life difficult for Nigeria. Nigeria did not look like they would score at any point in the 1st half. tactically, Nigeria could have easily adjusted to neutralise the Chawinga sisters' threat but didn't so 2nd half, they ate two goals almost back-to-back and a 3rd one after their penalty goal. final 20 minutes were so exciting, they woke up the commentator. Malawi's attacking sisters put the WIN in CHAWINGA. what a game‼️
Zambia W6 - 0Egypt W

so, so good to watch. Zambia were on the ball from the first whistle and completely dominated Egypt. they struggled to finish too many opportunities in the 1st half and a better team would have punished them for it👀, but they got it together in the 2nd half and scored 5 of their 6 goals. Kundananji's work rate and passing were top. Banda absolutely eyeing the Golden Boot. such a shame that performances like these have been made so hard to watch by CAF. also even though it's laughable how poor the commentary is, i don't think incompetence like this would fly at any other international competition ‼️
Ivory Coast WvsBurkina Faso W

N'Sira Safi, see you in the WSL 🫡
Barcelona W4 - 0Lyon W

you actually can't go to a UWCL final and eat four goals in a single half 1st half Bacha had me mentally preparing for extra time. no idea what happened during halftime but someone cracked the whip in that Barca dressing room. Pajor, Paralluelo, Brugts and Cata were machines in the 2nd half (Cata was keeping Barca in the game that 1st half if you ask me). but FOUR GOALS? have some shame OL (almost as bad as Bayern league phase anddd no consolation goal)
Liverpool W1 - 3Arsenal W

absolutely disgusting goal from Caldentey (compliment). the power and angle? eughhhhhh solid season finale. can't wait for the inevitable summer transfer window head loss 😋
Chelsea W2 - 3Manchester City W

and nothing for chelsea 😝😝😝 thank you Bunny and Hasegoatwa xx
Lyon W3 - 1Arsenal W

Dumornay and Yohannes were cooking us the whole game. no idea how Diani got her foot up for that goal?? the technique on Brand's goal, from the Dumornay assist to the finish, was impeccable. hard to feel bad when we were so thoroughly outplayed. still the #onlyintheland (copium)
Arsenal W7 - 0Leicester City WFC

Smilla Hilma Holmberg, welcome to The Arsenal🫶
Arsenal W2 - 1Lyon W

Emily Fox goated but we already knew that. whatever we're paying her, add two more zeroes on the end of that 🙂↕️ Endler + Engen stinkers today but icl Brand was showing us levels for a bit

Man City2 - 1Southampton

unsuccessful hate watch :/

England W1 - 0Spain W

peak woso matchup, literally never boring Russo's assist man 😭😭😭
Germany W5 - 1Austria W

German machine was in full effect in the 2nd half. Austria's goal though (impeccable play🙂↕️). Hope Gwinn is okay
Morocco W3 - 0Tanzania W

Morocco's handling and retention overall was better. 2nd half, TZ got sloppy defensively and Morocco capitalised. Serious miscommunication between Idrisa and her defenders for that 1st goal. They had 0 idea she was coming out for that ball😭. Redouani hit a spin and miss at the top of the box lmao. 2nd goal, TZ defender loses her mark and leaves Mssoudy wide open on the penalty spot💔. 3rd goal, Morocco cooked tbh.
USA2 - 1Japan

first 5 minutes, Japan were on it but US outplayed them for the rest of the game. Matsukubo sold a beautiful ball from Minami💔(shame but #beenthere). Ueki was kept onside by Fox fixing her bun 😭(she's only human, still my goat tho). so much space around Heaps, Japan's defense basically gifted her that goal. always a good match up to watch tho so i guess i'll be watching the entire triple series
bookd.
