It is league one opposition and its easy to get carried away but this game really has proved to us that despite missing gus and brooks we have a great base especially in our midfield in defence. With some smart signing as well as a certain Australian🇦🇺 we could actually do decent this season. Particular highlights for the game today i have sydie peck and joe rothwell who commanded the midfield the whole game, Arblaster also looked fresh when he came on. Cooper looked almost back to his best as well which is a great great thing as on his day hes the best keeper in the league. Overall better then I expected before turning it on. Onto the league now, UTB ⚔️

Where do I begin. Popovic needs to go out the doors. For a start not learning that clearly playing our best player out of position doesnt benefit him and also not playing our two best attacking players at the same time. My fucking nan can see that the one game we played toure and irankunda at the same time we won and the rest we didnt. Win = Good. If popovic thinks that drawing and losing games is good then give him a pay rise because hes perfectly engineered our games for that. Secondly is the keeper. Popovic makes a great choice leading into the tournament proving us as a fanbase wrong by starting beach and him playing amazing. All that effort goes down the fucking drain when he subs him off for a player with zero wc minutes this tournament. Patrick beach with the most confidence of any player on that pitch and arguably the most important role is taken off. And then we go to the penalties. I couldnt care less if hes the captain, a CB should not be our starting penalty taker in a shootout. Souttar skys it and its hard to blame him considering hes a fucking centre back. We play a winger with 40 minutes this world cup and a 30+ year old midfielder. Cause who would want to see a fucking striker take a penalty right? And then to top the whole shitty choices off popovic puts a fucking 19 YEAR OLD CENTRE BACK on the most important penalty in Australian history. Its not his fault at all he misses. Terrible choices that leave everyone feeling shit. Our attackers for not getting the chance to shoot, our centrebacks for being thrust into the terrible position and most of all our two keepers. One feeling untrusted, the other feeling like he failed. We have a young talented squad that can grow and im sure will be even better next World Cup but we couldve went so much further then we did. A disgraceful managerial performance.
