Port Vale2 - 0Mansfield Town

I really don't care if it's the mickey mouse trophy something has to change. Our defending today was woeful. We were shit before the international break and we've somehow come back even worse. Owen Dodgson is actually one of the laziest and worst players i've ever seen in a Mansfield Town shirt since Richard Nartey or Jamie Pardington. Harry Lewis was poor, McLaughlin was shocking, FBT and Deji can hang their heads in shame. Knoyle was really really sloppy in possession, Reed was poor, Hendry was dogshit, Maris was nonexistent, Bolton was okay and Oates was bad. It's incredible how bad a team can be after starting the season well. Hopefully we look into the free agent market for a centre-back because we need one desperately. I love Deji but my god he's been shocking this season. Port Vale weren't any good either. We were just THAT bad. It's very hard to see where our next win is going to come from at the moment, I do fear for the worst right now. Also makes me worry about the future of the club when Clough retires. Giving this one star instead of half a star because @utfb and @natalie made my second half a bit more enjoyable

Sheffield United 100% deserved something out of this. They'll get results if they play like that most weeks, Ipswich are just a very good side. Also that Ademiluyi goal was incredible

Worksop Town5 - 2AFC Telford United

WORKSOPPPPPPPPPP! What a result for them!! Big chance of a good cup run too as they face FC United of Manchester in the next round (22nd in the division below them) and then they'd be one round away from the first round proper. When Telford scored twice in three minutes to equalise i was so certain they'd bottle it but wow fairs. Maybe Worksop's biggest fan @iriss was a good luck charm 🤔

Scrappy Manchester derby. City victorious with only 10. Very odd from Manchester United, they looked better against 11 City players than 10. I thought the goal they conceded was odd too, it looked miles off, but we saw Dorgu play him on, but the weirder part was Enzo Fernandez try to head the ball from an offside position and the goal stood. By the laws of the game he makes an attempt to play the ball, meaning he should've been offside. Incompetent officiating once again. But Manchester City won't care, they're the victors this time in the derby and did it in style with 10 men. I thought it was a good team performance to neutralise United a man down, Maresca dealt with it incredibly. Everyone on the pitch in blue from Donnarumma to Haaland to the subs deserve credit, that save at the end was so important. Standout player for me was Marc Guehi, extremely solid and composed from minute one, but that's not to take credit from a great team performance.

A derby i looked forward to mostly overshadowed by what in my opinion is a refereeing error. The first half started promising, but the early red for Foden did ruin it a bit. It’s a clear red for him, but Bruno should have had red too for doing the same thing. But refs suck, this is common knowledge. I think all things considered the first half was still *fine*, can’t expect much when its 11 vs 10, just mostly both sides not knowing how to play football when they get into the final third. The second half felt more or less the same. Also with yet another controversial call. I am not sure if the goal should stand, as far as i know the rules its between deflection and a deliberate play. If Dorgu deliberately hits the ball there then yeah thats not offside, but it quite clearly looks like a deflection. Ndiaye did come on good though from the bench, played a decent game. Just yeah poor refereeing, only 5 minutes extra, some minor incidents between players, and just generally Oliver trying to take the spotlight. No one really stood out, i think Enzo did well, as well as Nunes and Gvardiol. But Haaland probably deserves it for being the deciding factor with his goal.

Watching Coventry lose brings so much joy. Having Groß and De Cuyper in fpl made this even better. Dont even really know what to say about this, Verbruggen absolutely saved the seagulls early with some good saves, after that it was all Brighton. Some great goals as well, and an idiotic red card from Awoniyi. Just a good game from Brighton while Coventry show they dont deserve to be here for more than 38 games.

Brighton
Coventry0 - 5Brighton

Very fun match. Coventry are absolutely garbage, and they should’ve scored like 3 in that first half. Brighton look very good but don’t be fooled, they’ve been top 4 in the first 5 games for like the last 3 seasons so the fall off will be inevitable, but for now they’re doing very well. FPL blessed for like 50% of the entire player base so that’s sick

Gave me a smile for a second but then these key points came up: 1) We're down there with Cov 2) We have to play them Wednesday and they'll treat it as a cup final.

Fun end-to-end contest between two strong teams. Arsenal proving their worth in the Premier League title race once again, the reigning champions continue their 100% record, up there with Manchester City. They were very good today, played much better football than last week against Villa. Quick tempo and had Chelsea by the throat most of the game. This still isn't Arsenal at their best though, they slipped a couple times defensively, no surprise with that lethal front 3 that Chelsea now have. Konsa was very good filling in for injured Mosquera and sidelined Saliba. He was very underrated at us, hopefully Arsenal fans see the best of him, he is genuinely the best defender I've seen at Villa Park. I thought Havertz started really slow, but he grew into a game with a solid finish, perhaps Martinez could've done better though. He also did a very good dummy for Odegaard's goal and was linked up with Arsenal's play very well overall. Arteta has an even better team to work with than last season, the depth is absolutely insane. Chelsea fought well, but once again their defensive cracks were shown throughout. Their attack is absurd, I do think the weak link is still Pedro Neto within this team. Midfield combinations at their selection aren't bad too. Many injury prone players around the squad however, which may ruin any momentum within the squad. Rogers goal was well taken, they had a few nice plays on the transition which you don't really get against Arsenal. Martinez was pretty decent today, there's definitely improvement there from Sanchez. But I have to warn Chelsea fans there are mistakes in him which can be frustrating. He is a good character to have though and has a good voice within that backline. They will be up there this season, but I think this game proves they won't be in contention for the title. MOTM is Kai Havertz. I think this is the best game I've seen him have in a while. Odegaard and Rice were very solid too. It was an all champions performance.

Everton2 - 2Man United

Wow what a finish to an overly dull game. Both teams really struggled to get anything going, I wasn't really impressed by either team, so a draw was a fair result in the end. Not really sure how to analyse this as Everton were not good at all, they were very wasteful and didn't create many clear cut chances. Both goals were out of nothing really, a near post belter from Tyrique George and a last minute rocket from Ainsley Maitland-Niles on his debut. Just heard on Sky that was 8 years from his first goal in the PL for Arsenal, crazy he's been around this long. Found it funny as soon as Everton bring on someone that can play RB he scores, after refusing to play a proper RB in the team for so long. Manchester United were not great either. They had a lot of the ball but created very little big chances with what they had. It took a lovely Mbeumo finish to open their scoring, back to back goals for him which he needed for his confidence. I think he'll be good again for United this season, perhaps even better. The second was a Benjamin Sesko header, which Pickford should've definitely done better with. But sometimes you need that luck in football. Great finish to the game after being so slow, even at 1-1 it felt like a 0-0 game. Really lacking tempo, but the last 10 minutes was worth the watch. I'll give Maitland-Niles the MOTM for his beauty that rescued a point for Everton.

HOLY SHIT😭😭😭 First half was pretty horrid, but the second half was peak. That last minute goal from Maitland-Niles might be one of my favourite goals, that side foot curl right into the top corner was sublime, just after United thought they won it late too. Sensational

Sheffield Utd3 - 2Bolton

only joined at about the hour mark (sheff utd is like the club equivalent of having a side chick, a girlfriend (al hilal) and a wife (arsenal) to me) but what an entertaining last 30 minutes it was. sheffield united equalising, conceding again to give bolton the lead and then coming back thanks to an insane strike by donovan 2 minutes before the whistle was blown. the defence cleaned up their act towards the end with the whole team contributing to clear the ball and get it out of their third but credit to bolton wanderers for putting up a great fight. first 3 points of the season so this clearly means we’re on the road to winning the championship/getting promoted ❤️🩹

Sheffield Utd
Man United5 - 2Ipswich

A Bruno Fernandes masterclass. Love him or hate him, he is an all time Premier League legend. Convincing result for Manchester United, but that first half proves there's still work to do for Michael Carrick. I think Tielemans looked a lot more settled with Mainoo by his side rather than Santos, still room and time for him to adjust to the way Man United play though. Carrick will be pleased with the way his attack worked, but I think defensively there's a long way to go. Not much physicality means they can be easily bullied, Casemiro a big miss which Baleba has to fill. For Ipswich, a very positive first half followed by a Jacob Greaves disasterclass. I thought Enciso was a very bright spark who dictated their play well. He will surely be their main man this season. Very important 3 points last week but it seems they will have to rely on home results rather than away results if they want any chance of staying up. It's doable, but unlikely in my eyes. I still believe they will be one of three to go down. Gary O'Neil has a big job on his hands to prove me wrong. MOTM doesn't even need explaining. Bruno Fernandes.

Man United
Chelsea4 - 3Brighton

picture definitely unrelated i’m mostly being salty since chelsea seem really solid this match (even neto scored) but brighton nearly came back in that second half. i think the biggest issue for chelsea this season will be their lack of possession but they did pretty well today off the ball so it could go under the radar. i would say they’ve defensively shaped up a lot but simultaneously they did concede 3 goals so even if they’re better it’s still not where i presume xabi alonso wants it to be. their midfield definitely missed caicedo too, i think it’ll be worrying that he was out last match for injury and now had to be taken off the pitch after 20 minutes (as well as lavia still not completing a full 90). i’ve mostly been talking about chelsea but brighton impressed me a lot. i think once they realised you can’t keep crossing the ball right into where lacroix is stood they improved. their defence clearly misses van hecke but i think they’re managing somewhat well so they should be able to handle teams that are weaker attacking wise. overall, this match has made me believe (unless they drop off in december) that chelsea will be in the title race since they don’t have european competitions to worry about too which is not very good for us.

Chelsea
Chelsea4 - 3Brighton

Great game, Chelsea's attack looks absolutely lethal, but it's the complete opposite at the other end of the pitch. Still leaking goals even with a new GK, in Emi Martinez. I think Xabi Alonso still had has a lot of work to do in defence if Chelsea want to be title challengers, he's got it nailed on in attack though with that front 3 of Palmer, Pedro and Rogers. I hope Rogers does well at Chelsea, 2/2 good games so far for him. The thing I warn Chelsea fans about is he's very much a purple patch player. At Villa he didn't turn up often when the going got tough, but he is absolutely a quality player when he has confidence and form. Hopefully he can change that and consistently turn up with a much better attacking line than he had at us. For Brighton, I think they'll be top of the mid table group this season. Not a good defensive performance whatsoever. They weren't that convincing defensively against Villa, it was only the fact that we had no striker that mainly cost us, otherwise we could've been 1 or 2 up in the first half. They are in a similar situation to Chelsea, great attack especially with Yalcouyé coming in, he looks sharp. But I just think the super attacking fullbacks and the slowness of Dunk x Vuskovic will cost them too many goals this season, mixed with European Balance, I don't see them getting in another European spot this season. However, I do believe they will win the Conference League, so that will get them Europa League nonetheless. MOTM is between Palmer or Rogers, went for Rogers as Palmer got it against Fulham. Sharing is caring!

Competitive game, thought Blackburn played very well and surprised people. Had them playoff chasers myself. Wolves will still have a strong season despite the setback tonight. They just need to settle down after such a poor season, their players have too much quality to be anything but top 3. Highlight of the match goes to my prophetic comment though, I felt it minutes before the penalty.
