Very solid game. Tonali was absolutely exceptional today, just in complete control of everything. Shows why we’ve paid £100 million for him. Tel was promising again today, same with Moore who will definitely benefit if he goes to Köln on loan. Hopefully we can see Maddison and Fernandes play tomorrow.
Wolves2 - 2Blackburn
The EFL is finally back and it was an interesting first game. Wolves were very poor and it didn’t really look like they were very well prepared, not really any patterns of play and a lot of bad touches. Blackburn on the counter attack were very good, and I was very impressed with them. Very unlucky with some refereeing decisions, especially the handball at the end which didn’t look like it was in the box. Wolves have to really step up to be back in the Prem next season.

Exiting game. Very fun to see Madjo start and he didn’t have the best of starts with a few missed chances. But extremely good box movement for his goal just before half time. Liked how high Villa’s line was at times and Ian Maatsen was very promising tonight and it seems like they won’t miss Digne a lot. PSG were a bit sluggish at times but the individual quality of players like Doue got them through that game. If Vila would have had the likes of Manzambi, Konsa, Watkins on the pitch, the result could’ve been different, but overall a very entertaining game

But I think Donley was impressive and Moore definitely needs a loan (ideally in the Bundesliga). Tel was really good today when he came on and you can just see the quality Fernandes has when he came. So good and levels above what we’ve had in the midfield the past few years

Good first game. Get some sharpness in the legs. Players were on it. Sharp passes, constant movement and rotations. Love to see Fernandes receiving the ball from the defence, turning on it and progressing the ball forwards. We haven’t seen that from a player in a while, and his goal was exceptional. Build up from the back was very good. Kinsky very calm and even dribbled 2 players and when we progress it up to the midfield, we recycle and keep possession. 2nd half was fun too. Malachi Hardy was very good and very vocal too which was great to see from a young defender. But the star was LWB, so so good and we have to have him in the squad hecause he is a special special talent. Those passes and dribbles were done with power and confidence. Overall a decent first game.

And there it is. 104 games watched live, staying up till 8 am and watching the sun rise while watching the last game of every matchday. That’s what football’s about. Speaking about the game, Spain fully deserved it. They were the ones that wanted to play football today and should have won the game long before it went to extra time. Pedro Porro has established himself as one of the best full backs in the world and he will have an amazing season for us. Onto club football which is the best football and I’m really excited too see how we can do this season. But it’s been a good World Cup and a fun ride.

Belgium were terrible for most of the game, but they woke up around the 70th minute when they needed it. Feel bad for Senegal, were so good for most of the game but they just couldn’t keep the lead and were very unfortunate with the last minute penalty.
