Well, feel like this will take a long time before it clicks. First half was ok, had a few chances. If we had better attackers we’d have a goal in that half. But the 2nd half was an absolute disgrace, utter pathetic the way we were pressing. Build up was non existent and you can tell that we’ve still got some players who are not up to the standards at all. Marmoush was great, probably the only positive to take from that game. Hopefully we can have Savio and Ndiaye/Gakpo in the lineup against Forest. Really need to step up.

Munoz today was impressive, very energetic which is what an Iraola system needs. MGW running the show for Forest again, which gave them a very important point today

This game shows why we have needed attackers. First half was lacklustre in terms of chances created. Nice goal from Moore even if the keeper should have done better. Fernandes again showing his immense qualities in his calmness on the ball. But the real start was Savio, absolutely incredible when he came on and a great finish to get his first goal. Hopefully Marmoush can follow that up against Newcastle.

Very end to end. Feel like games involving Fulham this season will always be a goal fest due to the intensity Arbeloa’s teams play at. Chelsea were a bit on and off today, with their front 3 being world class, but their defence was very off today and lacked cohesion. Sanchez is not good enough at all and I’d give Penders a run in goal. All in all, Chelsea will be a good side this year challenging at the top, whilst Fulham will be a fun side to watch.
ChelseaNewcastle2 - 2LiverpoolAmazing game. When St James’ is rocking, it’s always gonna be a good game of football. Newcastle set up brilliantly today, with using the pace they’ve got in attack to catch out Liverpool, especially their full backs who are bombing up the pitch. Osula was so good, and he will be one of the breakout players this season. But the main issue for Liverpool is their full backs. Both Frimpong and Kerkez are way too weak and reckless, and teams will be targeting them in the coming games. There was also way too much space between Jacquet and van Dijk. Newcastle were very unfortunate with the pen at the end, with Lewis Hall being brilliant all game up until that point.

Great salvation by City, but there’s major concerns. In settled possession they look good, but in the final third they were lacking. And especially in defence they were a mess, Gvardiol constantly having to step up. Dias and Khusanov struggling to connect, Rico Lewis constantly falling asleep at the back post. Need to work on that to be able to challenge for the league.

The prem is fully back! What a performance from Hull. Perfect game plan from the start with relying on the Giles to McBurnie cross, and winning every duel in the midfield. All summer United were trying to bargain their way to strengthening the squad instead of splashing the cash on top class midfielders. And it really showed today with Tielemans and Santos who got completely outrun and dominated. No real runs in behind either from the attack and it was a real gutless performance from them
Hull City

Great that the prem’s back. Cov started well the first 15 minutes while sitting in a 442 block, but a lapse of concentration led to the first goal for Arsenal and it completely collapsed for them. Tzolis was incredible, so good at taking on players and him rotating in the attack made Arsenal way more unpredictable in the final 3rd.

Very solid game. Tonali was absolutely exceptional today, just in complete control of everything. Shows why we’ve paid £100 million for him. Tel was promising again today, same with Moore who will definitely benefit if he goes to Köln on loan. Hopefully we can see Maddison and Fernandes play tomorrow.

The EFL is finally back and it was an interesting first game. Wolves were very poor and it didn’t really look like they were very well prepared, not really any patterns of play and a lot of bad touches. Blackburn on the counter attack were very good, and I was very impressed with them. Very unlucky with some refereeing decisions, especially the handball at the end which didn’t look like it was in the box. Wolves have to really step up to be back in the Prem next season.

PSG2 - 1Aston VillaExiting game. Very fun to see Madjo start and he didn’t have the best of starts with a few missed chances. But extremely good box movement for his goal just before half time. Liked how high Villa’s line was at times and Ian Maatsen was very promising tonight and it seems like they won’t miss Digne a lot. PSG were a bit sluggish at times but the individual quality of players like Doue got them through that game. If Vila would have had the likes of Manzambi, Konsa, Watkins on the pitch, the result could’ve been different, but overall a very entertaining game

Good first game. Get some sharpness in the legs. Players were on it. Sharp passes, constant movement and rotations. Love to see Fernandes receiving the ball from the defence, turning on it and progressing the ball forwards. We haven’t seen that from a player in a while, and his goal was exceptional. Build up from the back was very good. Kinsky very calm and even dribbled 2 players and when we progress it up to the midfield, we recycle and keep possession. 2nd half was fun too. Malachi Hardy was very good and very vocal too which was great to see from a young defender. But the star was LWB, so so good and we have to have him in the squad hecause he is a special special talent. Those passes and dribbles were done with power and confidence. Overall a decent first game.

And there it is. 104 games watched live, staying up till 8 am and watching the sun rise while watching the last game of every matchday. That’s what football’s about. Speaking about the game, Spain fully deserved it. They were the ones that wanted to play football today and should have won the game long before it went to extra time. Pedro Porro has established himself as one of the best full backs in the world and he will have an amazing season for us. Onto club football which is the best football and I’m really excited too see how we can do this season. But it’s been a good World Cup and a fun ride.
