Liverpool3 - 1Tottenham
Knocked out of the Carabao. At least we got a goal today, but once again another loss. I think De Zerbi got it wrong from the start, as he should have put out a stronger starting 11. Subs should have came on earlier too. Tottenham were the better team early on, but it didn’t last long. The ball fell to Mac Allister in acres of space and he made no mistake of it. It wasn’t until after we went 2-0 down and made substitutions that we pushed the issue. Gallagher scores a free header off a set piece and we looked dynamite from there. I really thought we were going to get the equalizer. The dagger was an absolute worldie of a goal from Szoboszlai in stoppage time. One of the best goals I’ve seen. Wasn’t a terrible performance, so let’s hope we can turn up on Saturday against Villa.

Another game and still no goals scored. I feel like I’ve seen improvement after each match, but results are what matter. Spurs dominated the first 30 mins and should have had at least a goal, probably even two. After that, we seemed to fatigue and lost that spark. From my perspective, Everton had the better chances in the 2nd half and by the end I was happy with a point. Need to see a much improved team/performance if we want to do anything this season. I will continue to back this project, which I really do think will come to life sooner rather than later.

Chelsea2 - 2Hull City
Hull completely deserved a point from this one. They completely neutralized Chelsea for large portions of the match and were so clinical with their chances at goal. There were also spells were Chelsea were pouring on the pressure, but it never amounted to anything significant. I think Hull have been a pleasant surprise for everyone this season, while every Chelsea match seems to be packed with goals. Keep it coming!

Felt like a classic UCL group stage match. Atleti were the better team in the first half, but Liverpool were on top in the 2nd. Llorente scored his usual goal at Anfield, but that was about it for the away side. Mac Allister with a clean strike from the edge of the box ends up being the winner for Liverpool. Good game.

So weird to see a game at the Bernabeu where RMA have such little possession. Not the greatest game, but I honestly didn’t think it was too bad. Both teams could have had a bunch more goals. Although Inter’s keeper had a terrible mistake, I thought both he and Courtois were really good tonight. First day of the new UCL season is always exciting.

Arsenal2 - 1ChelseaSucks that Arsenal won, but an entertaining game aside from that. Started off end to end, and it feels like it’s been forever since I’ve seen Arsenal play football that freely. Chelsea made a strong account for themselves, but weren’t strong enough to see this one all the way through. It’s going to be hard for any team to threaten Arsenal this season, but it’s always possible. A good end to a perfect Sunday with two great matches.

This one felt like a proper throwback Premier League match. Both teams playing to their strengths ended up in what is probably a fair result. Both of Everton’s goals were complete bangers. United played well but not quite to the level I was expecting yet. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Started watching this one in the second half. The game sparked to life and Cavan Sullivan ran the show once again. Union controlled the game and looked like the better team after settling in. This has been quite the turnaround for Philly ever since the World Cup break. Excited to see how things unfold as the playoffs creep closer.

Nott'm Forest0 - 0TottenhamI guess an improvement on the last game, but still lacking in so many areas. First and foremost, the attack is shocking. 3 games in the Prem and not one goal yet. This team needs to gel and players must start to understand each other better. Forest weren’t much better, so it was a game between two poor teams. I hope to see an improvement every week until there’s some consistency in results. Backing RDZ until the end.

Ipswich0 - 2LiverpoolLiverpool’s best game of the season. Gakpo looked sharp with the two assists for Isak’s clinical finishing. Ipswich weren’t terrible, but never caused too many problems. Barcola made his debut as well. Solid game.

Aston Villa0 - 1ArsenalWatched bits and pieces of this one, and good thing I did because it was super boring. Typical Arsenal just wearing down the opponent until they find a lousy goal. Villa looked better although they lost. Not too much to say about this one.
ArsenalMan United5 - 2IpswichFirst half was super tight and Ipswich actually scored first. Once United equalized, they found their confidence and cruised to the 3 points. Bruno was absolutely brilliant once again. Ipswich need to be better and ManU need to show this same fight against better opposition.

Another terrible game from Spurs. A slight improvement on last week, but that’s not saying much. Probably the only positive was some of the play from Mateus Fernandes. Aside from that, so poor and Newcastle capitalized when it mattered. Elanga and Wissa both had good games to lift them to victory. Really hope these are just growing pains and that RDZ can get everything working sooner rather than later.
NewcastleLiverpool2 - 2Nott'm ForestNot the greatest game, but pretty even between both teams. Liverpool weren’t great and Forest were solid, which makes it equal. Gibbs-White constantly getting into dangerous spaces and causing problems for the Liverpool backline. For Liverpool, I felt they were poor once again and haven’t quite adapted to Iraola. A draw seems fair looking back on this one.

Crystal Palace1 - 4Man City
City were nowhere near their best, but cruised to a win in this one. Palace couldn’t do much going forward, but showed some organization at times in defense. I say it every time, but what a player Cherki is. Such a game changer and always makes a difference when he’s on the pitch. Haaland also scored his first and second goals of the season. A much better second game from Maresca’s new-look Man City.

This one started off so slow and Spurs looked way off it. Mikey Moore scored a banger right before halftime, which allowed the game to start flowing freely. Minutes later, Solanke scores with a clinical finish into the bottom corner of the goal. Danso came on and scored a header with his very first touch. Then the moment everyone was waiting for, the Savio debut. And what a debut it was. What should have been 2 goals, ended up being a goal and an assist. He showed why we bought him. Quick feet, great ball control, a player that makes you get up off your seat. Still some concerns as this was only Charlton, but a good building block to use going forward.

Fulham2 - 3ChelseaThis game was a great one. Both teams with the former Real Madrid managers from last season. Arbeloa with Fulham and Alonso with Chelsea. Both sides were up for it and controlled the game at different points. Josh King and Palmer really stood out to me as well. Morgan Rogers also with a goal on his debut for the club. Palmer really started to look like his old self too. The momentum shifted in this one quite often, which made for peak viewing. Also nice to see Enzo booed by the traveling Chelsea supporters.
ChelseaNewcastle2 - 2LiverpoolCaught glimpses of this one, which was great for a neutral. Newcastle were lethal on the counter and killed Liverpool with rapid pace in behind. Liverpool were lucky to get a draw out of this one, due to a late penalty in their favor. Liverpool #8 made no mistake and smashed it in the top corner. Both teams walk away with a point each.
LiverpoolMan City2 - 1Bournemouth
Maresca’s first PL game with City. They came flying out the blocks, but couldn’t capitalize in the early stages of the match. Bournemouth proved to be tough and were the better team during some spells. City found some rythm in the 2nd half with some subs. Cherki was a game changer, and wow what a footballer. Directly involved in both of the goals and propelled City to a late comeback in stoppage time. Hope to see more of this so Arsenal don’t win the league so easily.

Brentford3 - 0TottenhamWaited all summer and got excited for this. A disgraceful performance from everybody on that pitch today. Brentford were better in every single facet of the game. Spurs looked slow and couldn’t cope with anything Brentford were doing. RDZ got it all wrong starting Bergvall, and other key players like Porro/VDV were out. To be fair, Tottenham only started with 3 possible first-team players when everyone is healthy. Not even trying to cope, we got smashed today and we must be better moving forward. Charlton this week and Newcastle at home next weekend. I am staying optimistic things will get better.
BrentfordHull City2 - 0Man UnitedOnly the second game of the season and a massive upset. Hull City imposed their physicality on United and stayed very organized. It seemed that ManU thought this would be an easy one and they could just cruise to a free 3 points. Hull made the most of their chances and also kept a clean-sheet. Their keeper was immense and the entire defense stayed so solid. Big game for Hull, and United will have to look themselves in the mirror before they get up and go again.

First game of the Premier League and it went as expected. Coventry didn’t show much and Arsenal were able to get the job done easily. Hope this isn’t a glimpse of what’s to come, because we need someone to compete with Arsenal. Coventry will have to dig very deep if they want to stay in the top flight.

My second time seeing Messi in person and this game had it all. Overall, Philly were the much better team and deserved to win it. Messi scored a great goal right in front of me and also set up Miami’s first of the night. Aside from that, Miami were poor and looked slower than the Union in every aspect. Cavan Sullivan was lively and looked dangerous every time he touched the ball. Also another great performance for Neil Pierre, a promising USMNT talent. Not to mention, there was a UFC-style takedown at the end of the match that sparked a bit of a fight. Cavan and Yannick Bright both received red cards. An exciting match and I was super happy to see Messi score right in front of me.

Wow what a crazy game from Philly. Down 2-0 playing a man up, I almost felt like something would go their way eventually. A goal late in the match plus 2 in stoppage time help the Union to steal this one from Atlanta. Wagner brilliant as always and 2 fantastic assists. An awesome comeback for the U.
Philadelphia UnionMan City1 - 1InterCity should have scored a bunch more, they were all over Inter. Savinho looked dangerous almost everytime he touched the ball up until the last 30 minutes. Semenyo was good along with others. It’s a friendly, so can’t look into it much but good performance for the first game without Pep.

This was a great atmosphere, like the playoffs always are at Subaru Park. Union dominated for the majority of this one and looked like they had it in the bag. Two late goals from Chicago changed things and equalized in the dying seconds of the match. Due to weird MLS rules, this one went to penalties where Union went on to claim the victory. A good night in Chester, PA.

City dominated this one, but Wydad were actually quite organized and hard to break down. It was a hot day in Philly and one of the first games to come for the FIFA CWC. The team was heavily rotated to start, but the big players like Haaland and Rodri came on with about 30 minutes to go. Foden and Cherki looked bright, which made this one fun to watch.
Man CityTottenham1 - 2Nott'm ForestTottenham were honestly the better team, but once again couldn’t capitalize on it. Forest were clinical when they had to be and made it difficult for Spurs. Porro was really good down the right, but the classic story of no one there to finish or get on the end of any chances. This game was the epitome of Ange’s Tottenham. Dominate most of the game, but give up sloppy goals at the back. Was exciting to be at my first ever game in Tottenham.

First time at the London Stadium and this one was a snooze fest. West Ham scored and were on top for most of the match, but were never too convincing. Late on in the match Southampton was pouring on the pressure and broke through with an equalizer. Same old from West Ham and you could almost feel that Southampton goal coming from a few minutes away.

I remember being so excited to see Messi in person for the first time. He had a few great chances to score but couldn’t make it happen. He did assist a goal late on in the match though. Canada were impressive for most of the game and handled Argentina well. Julian Alvarez opened the scoring early on into the second half.
ArgentinaFulham3 - 2BrentfordSaw this one as it was the Premier League Summer Series in Philly. This was the first of the two games that night and it was a good time. Both of them were great games with a bunch of goals. I remember it being super hot that day and being super excited to see 2 PL teams playing in my backyard.

Saw this one in person and it was a rout. Union ran all over Colorado and it was a fun one to watch. Penalties, bangers, and late goals. This one had it all for Philly. A Gazdag hat-trick too.

Was actually at the Stanford Stadium to see this one in person. My first time hearing of the Cali Clasico and it was a fun time. San Jose got off to a fast start but weren’t able to capitalize on their chances. Timo Werner was looking dangerous off the left but couldn’t find the finishing touch. Paintsil scored for LA on a counterattack against the run of play, which calmed the game down. San Jose came out fresher in the 2nd half and got a goal back through a good spell of play/possession. Late into the match, San Jose got a penalty to win the match. Werner ends up striking the ball poorly and the goalkeeper saved the penalty with ease. Also it’s worth mentioning that Marco Reus was playing for LA, although he didn’t shine too bright. A good game and great atmosphere created by the San Jose Ultras.

Spain1 - 0ArgentinaArgentina were completely dominated. Spain wore them down over the course of the match and finally broke through. Messi was anonymous along with the entire rest of the team. Spain kept control throughout and forced Emi Martinez into a number of good saves. Spain got their goal early into extra time with a clean hit from Ferran Torres. Argentina had no response and at the end of the tournament, the best team was the one to win. Spain are now Euro 24 Champions as-well as World Champions in 2026.

France4 - 6EnglandToo many words for this one to even get started. What a game of absolute attacking mayhem. Saka hat-trick, Mbappe brace, Olise through the middle, etc. Wow what a match. 10 GOALS COMBINED! Best match of the tournament as it was just end to end for the entire 90 minutes. England were up 4-0 after the first half and looked like they were going to bottle it again. They were able to outscore the French in the end with a final score of 6-4. I want to give MOTM to Spence because he was immense today, but there were some other fantastic goal scorers in this one.

England go up a goal early in the second half and completely shit the bed after that. 2 passes in a 20 minute span and 12% possession after they scored. Completely unacceptable coaching from Tuchel and an absolute disappointment considering the opportunity they had for the Final. Messi turned into a man possessed in the last 20 minutes of the match and it was all over from there. The England defense was getting pounded by crosses and looked shaky dealing with them every time. Argentina complete a crazy comeback to beat England with 2 goals in the last 5 minutes + stoppage time.
ArgentinaFrance0 - 2SpainSpain completely shut down France in this one. Deschamps got it all wrong tactically and the French couldn’t get anywhere near Spain. Fantastic performances down the right flank from both Lamine Yamal and Pedro Porro. France couldn’t deal either them and they were combining flawlessly down the wing. Spain move onto the Final and France have come back down to Earth after sky-high expectations.

What should have been a routine win for Argentina was anything but that. Switzerland put up a great fight and lost their way due to an odd red card. Even with 10 men, the Swiss were punching above their weight and pushed Argentina into extra time. Messi wasn’t as involved in this one, but his supporting cast had him covered. Late goals in the second half of extra-time send Argentina through to the next round.

Norway1 - 2EnglandThis was a fantastic match and a gutsy performance from England. Norway played a great match and made it tough for England to play through them. An early goal for Norway saw the 3 Lions chase the game until gaining control again in the second half. The tides turned and Jude Bellingham grew into the game scoring two important goals. One of them midway through the next half to equalize. He scored the winner in Extra Time as no one found the winner in regular time. Haaland wasn’t as impactful in this one, but still a fantastic run from Norway. England are onto the next!

Spain controlled this game for the most part but didn’t get the winner until the very end. Belgium were solid in their defending and kept a lot of danger out of the penalty area. Spain’s depth showed later on with impactful subs and a refreshed team. Merino scored a late winner as a sub and Spain move past Belgium to the next round.
