The penultimate match. Spain displayed elite ball possession, 0 shots for Argentina. Their team is so disciplined and organized. Predicted a late 1-0 win and it did come true. This is the Spain team we knew. As an Arsenal fan so proud to see Mikel Merino putting his body (head) on the line, Zubi made his debut on the final, and David Raya against the stacked GK Unai Simon and Joan Garcia. Spain is truly blessed with talents at the moment. No star players but players doing their job and contributing to the team, this is how a national team should be. I remember watching Spain in 2010 and I can see the similarities with this team (late goal, elite midfielders, organized team). I’ll save this for my World Cup reflections but thanks Bookd for the World Cup experience, the chats, and most of the time, early goal spoilers which I don’t mind 😆 Also after going to non stop watch parties, my friends and I decided to chill and do our own watch party at one of our friends’ apartment. The best decision ever because we are all tired of the constant partying and didn’t want to wait 2 hours before KO just to get in and be comfortable. It’s been a joy watching friends who don’t watch football turning into football fan during this WC, and I will not take this for granted after being isolated because of COVID for most of WC 2022, including the final 😊 also here’s a run I put together before the final!
