Who is Baturina? To the blind, he is the light. To the hungry, he is bread. To the sick, he is the cure. To the lonely, he is company. To the sad, he is joy. To the prisoner, he is freedom. For the poor, he is treasure. For me, he is everything.

I'm not gay but I want to live in a log cabin in the woods with Zion Suzuki. We won't ever have sex, but there will be a simmering erotic undercurrent as I stand in the kitchen window watching him tighten his ass as he chops wood, shirtless, sweat pouring off his body. I'll run upstairs and masturbate, the entire time forcing myself to think of women while my thoughts drift back to Zion Suzuki. I won't be able to climax and I'll eventually go back downstairs, angry. Sometimes we will look across the table and catch each other's eyes, and in that second, anything is possible, but we both deny ourselves and go back to what we were doing. One day one of us will die, and the other will bury him outside the log cabin. Then he'll go inside, pen a brief missive to his departed friend, and commit suicide, never able to deal with life without his one true platonic love.

Decent game, Hamza might just be the answer to the entire 'Julian saga'. Tunkara was excellent as well. Roony's confidence looks absolutely shot and that penalty miss DOES NOT help.
Wisla Krakow2 - 1GKS Katowice

THE NEWLY PROMOTED MINNOWS FROM KRAKOW HAVE TAKEN DOWN THE GIANTS FROM KATOWICE!!!! THIS IS WHY EKSTRAKLASA IS TRULY THE GREATEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD, BAR NONE.

Wisla Krakow
Widzew Łódź2 - 2Motor Lublin

Ladies and gentlemen, this is my club, THIS IS MOTOR LUBLIN!!! After a couple of days of games that were alright to downright awful, my club comes into action and they do what they do best. They absolutely light it up, sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a bad way. But one thing is absolutely guaranteed with Motor Lublin, there will be no shortage of entertainment. Overall, Widzew were the better team but not by much really. Both teams had 4 big chances, and while Widzew managed to bury 2 of them, Motor, in typical Motor fashion, managed to MISS ALL 4!!! Both their goals came from distance and hence is not really reflected in their overall xG much. How Widzew did not manage to score another in the second half will perplex me but Motor did well enough to hold on against a team that I would say are pretty much of the same quality and manage to get a point away from home. Ndiaye is definitely my MOTM, he scored the 2nd could've easily had 1/2 more and was a menace down the right side. Rodrigues was great as well, covered pretty much every blade of grass available and ended up with an assist. Special shout out to Wisniewski from Widzew, easily the best defender on the pitch even when taking both teams into account.

Motor Lublin
Lech Poznan0 - 0Cracovia Krakow

Actually one of the most depressing and soul crushing games I've watched in a while. Even the only interesting part of the game (the red card) was taken away from us and overturned. As always, shoutout to Bookd chat for managing to keep me sane and not plan to jump off of my window!

Cracovia Krakow
Gornik Zabrze2 - 1Slask Wroclaw

A pretty deserved win for Górnik, all things considered. Slask have nobody but themselves to blame for this loss. How does a team have 14 shots but only manage 2 on target, with of them being in the 8th minute and the other being a free kick in the 94th minute. They had the same number of BCMs missed as they had shots on target, absolute insanity. Górnik, I felt, grew into the match as time went on. Their second half was excellent and they pretty much controlled proceedings entirely. Their first goal was a bit fortunate, but hey, as they say, you create your own luck. Nothing fortunate about the second one though, an absolutely stellar strike from just outside the box to win them the game. Honestly in 2 minds between the MOTM. Janza, on paper, is the easy and possibly best choice. Controlled the left flank throughout and also created 6 chances from left back. Unlucky to not end up with an assist. Urbanski, on the other hand, is more of a sleeper shout. Covered every blade of grass available and completed the most dribbles in the game. His pass completion rate was excellent as well, absolute engine in that no. 10 role.

Gornik Zabrze
Pogon Szczecin0 - 1Legia Warszawa

Even though the game ended 1-0 with a scrappy and smash and grab of a 96th minute winner from Legia, this was one of the more entertaining close games that I saw from recent memory. The keepers were easily the best players on the pitch tonight, keeping their teams in the game till the very end to have any sort of fighting chance at all. Other than them, Vinagre and Deziel Jr. (Legia) and Borges (Pogon) impressed me the most.

Legia Warszawa
Spain1 - 0Argentina

Ferran when it is Argentina/Madrid/Atletico and not Getafe/Mallorca/Vallecano

Spain
France4 - 6England

France
England1 - 2Argentina

This game pretty much summed up both England and Argentina perfectly. Argentina played rather defensively for the most part and, one might add, very aggressively, while all England wanted was one goal, the first goal. And they even got that goal from Gordon, who was found with an absolutely delicious cross by Rogers. And then Tuchel made some baffling tweaks that just made the entire English team sit back in an extreme low block and defend for their lives for the next 40 minutes. England ended the game with six, yes, SIX defenders on the pitch. What this also causes is that if you happen to concede a goal or manage to hoof the ball out of your own penalty area, you have no attacking outlets remaining with Gordon, the only one in this English side who could exploit the Argentine defensive line with his speed, being taken off. Every single English player was behind the ball, and all Argentina had to do was pepper them with crosses and passes into the box to pin them back. The problem with this game plan is, and why it worked against Mexico and not against Argentina, is one man: Messi. You CANNOT go into that defensive of a structure without any intention of attacking with that absolute DEMON on the pitch. And once again, just like against Egypt, he stepped up, took the onus on himself in the last 20 minutes, and turned this game around pretty much single-handedly. He had able allies in Enzo and Lautaro, but pretty much 90% of everything went through Messi on the right flank, either beating his man on the outside and whipping a cross in or cutting in and playing those absolutely sublime one-twos to open up the English backline. And I can't lie, I enjoyed every minute of him running the clock back. One has to soak it in; he might only play one more game in Argentine colors. People may dislike this Argentine team, but watching Messi play at his absolute best is always a special, special thing to witness.

Argentina
France0 - 2Spain

I feel so vindicated after saying throughout the tournament that if there was one team who could stop this French 'super attack', it is Spain. This Spanish side is so perfectly built to counter the exact kind of football the French like to play and have proven to be a thorn in their side for a few years now. The way they completely neutralized this French front 4 by just keeping, passing, and not allowing the French to have any time on the ball was an absolute joy to watch. This domination almost reminded me of the 2010 squad, not with as much 'aura', but just so incredibly professional. As much as I love Pedri, I do have to say that a midfield of Rodri, Fabian Ruiz, and Olmo just works so well. The thing with Pedri is that he often does a lot of the work that Rodri already does for the Spanish NT. This makes it difficult for him to have a consistent role in this team as it leads to DLF pushing him forward, which just is not his role. Fabian, on the other hand, has a completely different profile which complements Rodri and Olmo much better, and that was seen today as Spain's midfield 3 completely nullified Tchouameni and Rabiot. Olmo, also, has quietly had yet another excellent tournament for Spain while Rodri is back to bossing the midfield and dictating the entire tempo of the game like he never had that ACL injury. It also didn't help that France just allowed Spain to take so much control, and outside of a couple of long balls from deep and long shots, they barely managed to create anything of substance. It's almost as if they'd accepted their fate as soon as Porro scored the second and never once managed to threaten Simon (outside of that one brainfade moment). Special shoutout to Cubarsi who has had an unreal tournament at the heart of a Spanish defense that has been rock solid throughout. If Spain manages to win the entire thing, he, for me, would be a massive contender for not only YPOTT (which pretty much seems locked on at this point) but also POTT.

Spain's strategy this WC is one that is incredibly simple. They will bore the opposition to death by passing around for 90 minutes, and then hit them with the Merino dagger off the bench. And, ngl, it's working.

The Among Us game with Bookd chat during half time was a million times better than the actual game of footy. At least we won't have to see #HIM on our screens anymore.

What an absolute fever dream of a game, my GOAT's still got it. Just when you think this WC cannot possibly get any better, you get a game like this. Fair play to Egypt, absolutely played their hearts out and ultimately, lost due to sheer individual brilliance and will.
